Universities used to be places where students struggled with English, calculus, chemistry, accounting, etc., with occasional breaks for a football or basketball game. Not anymore. There are numerous non-academic distractions, discussions, and debates that (after four years) produce frivolous, foolish frauds leaving with a degree they can hardly read–literally!

In 2018, it was revealed that a teacher even taught high school social studies for 17 years and was a certified teacher but could not read or write.

U.S. education has been on a slippery slope for a long time, and many schools have already tumbled upon the garbage heap below. According to an educational assessment report, the average U.S. college freshman reads at a seventh-grade level, so the incompetence goes back to the earliest grades.

But, since universities are corrupt with unskilled professors and a flawed educational agenda, how can anyone expect students to leave such schools competent, confident, and clearheaded?

Brown University is making some changes to its program, but changes that will have no positive impact on educating students. One change is its graduate school application that will allow applicants to “self-identify” as persons of color. Even color is no longer absolute. Be whatever you want—red, yellow, black, or white. It’s called a “pretend game.”  Most children pretend but join the real world when they mature.

The inmates took over the asylum many years ago, but now they are running universities, but unlike asylums, university professors have tenure, basically an academic union card.

Fordham University’s Political Science department announced that it had voted unanimously to adopt a new policy regarding students’ preferred names and gender pronouns. The policy mandates that professors must use a student’s “preferred” name and pronouns. I remember when universities called a student “mister” or “miss,” but that was back when dinosaurs walked the earth.

The University of Connecticut, Cal State Los Angeles, University California Davis, and the University of California Berkeley, among others, provide racially segregated dorms for black racists. Wait a minute; I thought it was illegal, immoral, and at least insensitive to have policies based on race. Do these schools want to propel racists into society?

Of course they do, since everything is about race, and it is the globalists’ agenda to cause friction and hate between groups and classes of citizens—and keep progressives in power.

Even vicious felons such as former Weather Underground radical Kathy Boudin can find positions at major universities. Kathy spent 22 years in prison for an armed robbery that resulted in the killing of two cops and a guard. Still, she parlayed her “fame” into a prestigious adjunct professorship at Columbia University’s School of Social Work. Evidently, Dick Tracy was wrong: crime does pay, big time.

Yasir Kazi, an American imam, [and] was a professor at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, teaching that Christians were “filthy” in the sight of Allah. The Times newspaper reported Yasir told students that “killing homosexuals and stoning adulterers was part of their religion.” He now works as a resident scholar of the East Plano Islamic Center in Plano, Texas.

According to a report from The College Fix, the peer-reviewed academic journal Research on Diversity in Youth Literature published an article in February that contended that books by Dr. Seuss are racist. The paper was authored by Katie Ishizuka of The Conscious Kid Library and Ramón Stephens, a doctoral student at the University of California, San Diego. In March of 2021, Dr. Seuss’ publisher pulled six of his books from publication. They were considered racist.

I think I know who the racists are.

Black Rutgers University Professor Brittany Cooper, who previously argued that Jesus was “queer,” stated on NPR that the concept of time is owned by white people. According to a report from The College Fix, Cooper is arguing that the modern conceptualization of time is racist. I believe Rutgers and Cooper have a major problem, but they deserve each other.

It seems black university professors make pronouncements trying to prove they are clinically insane or are least certified idiots. Either way, they should not be within a hundred yards of anyone under 21 years of age.

Dr. Christine Fair is an anti-Trumper professor at Georgetown University who advocated for the murder and castration of white Republican men! During the Brett Kavanaugh Supreme Court nomination hearings, she tweeted that the white members of the committee are “entitled white men justifying a serial rapists’ arrogated entitlement” and that they “deserve miserable deaths while feminists laugh as they take their last gasps.” Fair continued, “Bonus: we castrate their corpses and feed them to swine? Yes.”

Wow, Fair is a real sweetheart.

Georgetown University responded by saying her expressions did not violate the university’s policies. But then, the Catholic university is so far in left field that nothing could violate its policies. Well, that is unless you are a born-again Christian happily married to the opposite sex who home schools eight children, and all are lifetime members of the National Rifle Association—with concealed permits. However, even Georgetown University has its limits, and Fair was finally “placed on research leave.” That was a “paid” research leave.

That’s called damage control, but there was too much damage to control.

Gutless university officials and their Boards of Trustees are pathetic professional prostitutes, and uncaring, unprincipled, and unthinking donors who funded such absurd idiocy are in the same category.

On Fair’s Twitter page, she identified herself as a “Scholar of South Asian pol-mil affairs, inter-sectional feminist, pit-bull apostle, scotch devotee, nontheist, resister.” Her Twitter heading is too vulgar to reveal here.

Here is some free advice for Fair from a committed Bible-believing Christian: Drawing on my psychology training and scriptural understanding and family counseling, she needs to find a good, strong, gun-toting, hardworking man and somehow convince him to marry her and after a honeymoon of hunting grizzly bears in Montana, settle down to conceiving a brood of children whom she homeschools and bakes cookies for them and her husband’s lunch box. That will keep her away from twisting young minds and ruining them for life.

After due consideration, what goes for black professors goes for white professors. It should be considered child abuse for them to be within shouting distance of students under 21.

Feminist Lillian Carter, an associate professor at Towson University, purportedly denied students the opportunity to do a pro-life project while openly supporting abortion and Planned Parenthood. She also encouraged them to masturbate. See my suggestion in the previous paragraph.

Student council members at the University of Wisconsin-Madison protest the campus practice of serving ice cream, which often contains beef gelatin. This ingredient makes the treat unacceptable to members of certain faiths and diets.

Obviously, university students are as stupid as university professors. But then, students eventually become professors if they pilfer or purchase enough reports, dissertations, etc., to finally grab the degree they can hardly read.

Harvard is supposed to be at the top of elite American ivy league schools and one of the most expensive; however, I would be greatly disappointed if one of my grand or great-grandchildren enrolled there. After taking off a year for COVID, the over-rated university had its annual student-led Sex Week in November after beginning in 2011. Students were exposed to all kinds of sex perversion, including BDSM which is sexual activity involving such practices as the use of physical restraints, the granting and relinquishing of control, and the infliction of pain. Bondage restricts a partner with “ropes, handcuffs, or other restraints,” while sadomasochism refers to “pleasure that a partner may feel from either inflicting pain (sadism) or receiving pain (masochism), either physical or emotional.”

Other universities permit such lewd weeks not wanting to be considered old-fashioned. I suppose they do so in the name of education, but it is really the lethal lemming-like leap over a cliff.

No, my title for this article is wrong. Secular universities are no laughing matter, and they are a financial and academic fraud parading as an educational endeavor. It is child abuse to send shallow, uncritical teens to such ignorance factories and dishonest for such schools to expect any money from taxpayers or from parents.

Never have so many students paid so much money to receive so little, resulting in so much incompetence.

If one is finally graduated from one of these so-called universities and maintains some dignity, discernment, and decency, they can sing full–throatily, “Free at last, free at last, Praise God almighty, I’m free at last.”

This column is about the scandal in higher education that is not supposed to be discussed since it involves Ivy League schools and other secular and religious universities.

Epstein taught at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, for almost 30 years until 2002 as an untenured professor of English. He currently holds emeritus status in the English Department. In his diatribe against Jill Biden, he blasted the University for giving honorary degrees to Stephen Colbert and Seth Meyers. Epstein referred to the “low quality” of the honorands suggesting political correctness has diminished the value of honorary degrees. The examples given seem to support that contention.

Epstein put the light on a subject not usually discussed in recent years. Astute people have known for decades that wealthy people seek respectability or status by making large gifts to hospitals, universities, and charities. Following the gifts, the giver receives awards, degrees, and other intangible favors in a few weeks or months. Such goodies received by the wealthy donor are intangibles “that money cannot buy,” but the fact is, money does buy them.

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary noted the word doctor comes from the Latin word for teacher, which the dictionary revealed first described theologians.

The doctorate originated in medieval Europe as a license to teach at Italy’s University of Bologna (founded in 1088, making it the world’s oldest University) and the University of Paris (founded about 1150). The roots of the doctorate go back to when doctor referred to the apostles and other church leaders who taught the Scripture, so preachers were the first to be given a doctorate after recognized as teachers by the Roman Catholic Church. By the end of the13th century, doctor was no longer limited to theologians but accomplished academics and medical professionals. The variety of degrees began to multiply like spring flowers until 1900, when there were over 200 types of degrees.

The honorary degree was first awarded in 1478 at England’s Oxford University, of all places. Top honchos of the University thought it might be wise and worthwhile to show honor to Lionel Woodville, head of the Cathedral Church of Saint Peter. He just happened to be the brother-in-law to King Edward IV. He was awarded the modern-day equivalent of a Ph.D., making it the first honorary degree in history. The honorary degree paid off because Woodville accepted the position of Chancellor of the University shortly after his award.

Since those days, secular and religious universities discovered the wisdom and wealth in scratching, even stroking the egos of preachers, poets, politicians, pundits, princes, and potentates—and of course, the prosperous with impressive-sounding degrees.

Honorary degrees at Ivy League universities were given to show honor to deserving historians, scientists, and inventors, but today most are awarded to victorious politicians, vile entertainers, and the vastly wealthy. Harvard has awarded over 2300 since 1692. Not only has the quality of recipients declined, but the quantity has also spiked. Harvard, for some reason, has outrageously increased their honorary degrees starting in 2004. Maybe they feel a need to add to their world-leading endowment fund of $50 billion. Yes, that was billion.

Yale has given 2,805 honorary degrees, University of Pennsylvania 1,722, and Brown University has given 2,030 to date. It has always been this way. Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island is ranked seventh in “Best Colleges in America” and one of the most expensive with tuition of about $53,000 per year. Brown was originally known as Rhode Island College, a Baptist school. It had seven graduates at its first graduating class in 1769. However, they gave 22 honorary degrees, mainly to Baptist preachers. Gotta watch those Baptists. They are first in about everything.

The honorary degree went downhill fast as have earned degrees.

An industrialist or entertainer gives ten million dollars to a hospital, and in a few months, the hospital has a news conference announcing the erecting of a first-rate heart or cancer unit to their facility named for the generous benefactor. It wasn’t an underhanded, nefarious affair; it was only business as usual—the eternal quid pro quo. You scratch my back, and I’ll scratch yours. There was an understanding between the hospital and the giver.

Epstein received an honorary doctorate from Adelphia University on Long Island, New York, and is often identified as “Dr.,” but he never uses the title. That would be true of many, maybe most of those who hold honorary degrees. While the degrees are given, usually with an expectation of something in return, few of the honorees insist on using the titles. Maya Angelou was an exception. She had no college degree but did have honorary degrees—and wanted everyone to know and recognize the fact she was Dr. Angelou.

The leftist media always recognized that; after all, she was a black female.

Benjamin Franklin received honorary doctorates from the University of St. Andrews and the University of Oxford. Consequently, he referred to himself as “Doctor Franklin,” although he only went to elementary school for two or three years.

Billy Graham’s highest degree was a BA in anthropology, but he permitted himself to be called Dr. because of many honorary degrees. However, he did not use the title in his books or advertising.

In the 1940s and 50s, Dr. Wilbur Smith was one of the most respected scholars in America and England. He usually ran in Presbyterian circles and was considered a major leader in Fundamentalism. His book Therefore Stand is a classic in Christian Apologetics. He had one of the largest private libraries in the world. He was one of my professors of eschatology at Moody Bible Institute (now college). He also at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and was a founder of Fuller Theological Seminary with whom he broke because they were and are soft on the inerrancy issue. Billy Graham asked Smith to be the first editor of Christianity Today, but he refused. However, few knew he did not have a college degree. Dallas Theological Seminary awarded him the honorary D. D.

A truth that few know and fewer refuse to reveal is that any degree from any university, even one with abundant ivy on its walls, is no proof of scholarship. And lack of a degree is not an indication of lack of scholarship, as demonstrated by Dr. Wilbur Smith.

Even Sesame Street Muppet Kermit the Frog was awarded an honorary degree by Southampton College at Long Island University! I don’t know if Kermit used the title in his appearances on the television series, but the gift sure paid off for the University and “raised the college’s profile and drew hundreds of new admissions.” That has always been the purpose of honorary degrees, and there is nothing wrong with that, but everyone needs to be aware of that purpose.

Well, if a flaky, false frog can qualify for an honorary degree, so can a dog. Mona, a Labradoodle service dog, attended her mistress student to all of her classes at the University of West Georgia and received an honorary degree from the University. The dog, not the student.

Moose, an 8-year-old Labrador retriever, is a very accomplished therapy dog and now the holder of an honorary degree from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. The college is operated by Virginia Tech and the University of Maryland at College Park.

Like all areas of education, the esteem of honorary doctorates has declined even faster and further. Honorary degrees were once given to scholars, scientists, and prominent national leaders. Later, university presidents saw a vast income source with wealthy industrialists, railroad tycoons, entertainers, and athletes. Now, anything goes.

It was common more than a hundred years ago to award honorary D. D.s (Doctor of Divinity) to clergymen who had preached and taught the Scripture for decades and had remained an example of competence, faithfulness, and principled living. However, like everything else, that practice has been corrupted over the years. Such degrees were few and selectively awarded, but today they are handed out like candy.

Preachers are the most abundant holders of honorary degrees, and most of them use the honorific title. The scandal is that many of those holders were very young men who had accomplished very little in their lifetime. No slam against young men since I was there once, but to honor someone who has not accomplished much is to diminish the honor of the degree of those who have. It is made worse by some who are self-important and require everyone to know how important and humble they are.

I have been thinking of a sixty-year-old preacher for many months who is doing an incredible job with his global ministry; consequently, I recommended him to receive a doctorate from Heritage College in Indiana. The president of the college, Dr. Russ Dennis, informed me that the college never awards an honorary doctorate to anyone under 50 years old and gives only a couple each year. That is fantastic.

Hooray for Heritage!

I heard of an incident many years ago about a beautiful actress on a train who fainted in the dining car. The porter yelled to the crowd of diners, “We need a doctor, please.” Within seconds a veterinarian, a college professor of philosophy, and two Doctors of Divinity were offering to help the ailing actress.

Ah, yes, ain’t education great.

About 40,000 Ph. D.s are given each year in the U.S., while only 337 were awarded in 1903. At the University of Georgia, a Ph.D. candidate in creative writing can submit poems instead of a dissertation. And at the University of Michigan, you can get a Ph.D. in literature without reading Shakespeare. You can get a degree in history without taking an American History course at Harvard University, Georgetown University, the University of Maryland, and many other highly regarded schools. The dumbing down continues in freefall.

American universities have produced 30,000 new Ph.D.’s a year since 1969. That means there are a million to a million and a half Ph.D.s in the United States. And while I respect the Ph.D., I have met some holders that can’t give directions to the restroom. Most people assume all Ph. D.s require a lengthy dissertation; however, there are numerous universities globally that do not.

The assumption is made that one must have a masters before entering a Ph.D. program, but there are many universities around the world where that is not true. However, no university would advertise that they offer Ph. D.s without a master’s degree even when they do.

The leftist media has displayed its true colors as if anyone deaf, dumb, and blind didn’t know them. They often ridiculed anyone with a “Dr.” title if they were not in the medical field, but there are exceptions with Dr. Jill Biden and a few of their pets. The media routinely referred to Cornel West (Ph.D.) and Maya Angelou as “Dr.” even though Angelou never had an earned doctorate, only honorary degrees. She insisted on being called “Dr.” and got away with it because she was black, female, and liberal.

The only way to beat that is to add lesbian, dwarf, and Muslim.

Bill Walsh of the Washington Post declared in 2009. “My feeling is if you can’t heal the sick, we don’t call you doctor,” but the hypocrites at the Post have their favorites. They are very gracious to their own crowd with doctorates, but they ridiculed Dr. Sebastian Gorka, the forceful and articulate conservative and Trump confidant with a Ph.D. Did I mention that liberals are the most illogical, inconsistent, and ignorant people in the world?

The media do the same putdown with Dr. Ben Carson, and he is a famous surgeon; that qualifies as healing the sick. The media mavens realize that any doctorate gives some credibility to a person (whether deserved or not), but they reserve that credibility for their crowd.

I forgot to mention that the liberal media are sanctimonious hypocrites.

I have had the same experience with the title of “Dr.” but faced down talk show hosts who identified my opponent as “Dr.” Smith but me as “Mr.” Boys. At least twice on national television shows, I stopped the discussion and said, “I’m not sensitive, but if we are to continue this show, and it is “Dr.” Smith, then it is “Dr.” Boys. Or we can both be called Mr. or by our first names, but I insist on consistency. I had to work as hard on my Ph.D. as my opponent did.”

When Newsweek and other publications quote me or do a hit piece on me, they never add my Ph.D. or Ed.D. Never. But with their crowd, they use a different rule. The only standard liberals have is the double standard which they almost always follow. While the media usually give support for their spokesmen and denigrate those on the right, they don’t care about truth and principle in the use of titles. Martin Luther King, Jr. had a Ph.D. from Boston University, a fully accredited, respected school of higher learning. However, I don’t know of one example when any of the media revealed that King plagiarized his Ph.D. dissertation.

Oops, I just touched the third rail. While all informed people know that truth, it is not to be mentioned in polite company. The liberal media adhere to that unwritten rule with missionary zeal and faithfulness.

King stole from others all his life. The scholars of the King Papers Project confessed: “King’s plagiarism was a general pattern evident in nearly all of his academic writings.” King’s very friendly biographer David J. Garrow, stated: “King’s academic compositions, especially at Boston University, were almost without exception little more than summary descriptions…and comparisons of other’s writings. Nonetheless, the papers almost always received desirable letter grades, strongly suggesting that King’s professors did not expect more….” Wow, from a friend!

King’s Ph.D. dissertation was “A Comparison of the Conceptions of God in the Thinking of Paul Tillich and Henry Nelson Wieman,” and over half of it was stolen! King found a similar dissertation by Dr. Jack Stewart Boozer (real name), a former army chaplain and later Professor of Religion at Emory University who had returned to Boston University to earn his Ph.D. King even copied mistakes from Boozer’s work The Place of Reason in Paul Tillich’s Concept of God!

When Boston University looked into the plagiarism, they wrote, “A committee of scholars at Boston University concluded yesterday that Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. plagiarized portions of his doctoral dissertation, completed there in the 1950s.”

Boston University provost Jon Westling accepted the panel’s recommendation that a letter be attached to King’s dissertation in the university library, noting that numerous passages lacked appropriate quotations and citations of sources.” And nothing was done except the letter in his file. Do you think Martin Luther Smith would have been treated that way? No, he would have been expelled.

King also stole much of his “I Have a Dream” speech from another black preacher, but the media never, never, never mentions that fact when they quote the speech.

King copied from others, even their mistakes, and he made plenty of his own—misspelling, subject-verb agreement, wrong word usage. A sharp, high school senior at a Christian school would know better. Some of King’s papers written at Crozer Seminary and Boston University revealed his unbelief, his anti-Americanism, and his incredible shallowness and carelessness in grammar and facts. King, like other leftists, is protected and promoted by the media. He is always “Dr.” King even with his spurious Ph.D. And to show how sacrosanct he is, some of the news sites that usually publish my columns will refuse to use this one.

While I disagreed with Mr. King as I do with Jill, I don’t mind calling her Dr. Biden.

He attacked a progressive Democrat, a female Democrat, and everyone knows they are untouchable. Epstein suggested Jill using her earned doctorate title, “sounds and feels fraudulent, not to say a touch comic.” He added, “Your degree is, I believe, an Ed.D., a doctor of education, earned at the University of Delaware through a dissertation with the unpromising title ‘Student Retention at the Community College Level: Meeting Students’ Needs.’ A wise man once said that no one should call himself ‘Dr.’ unless he has delivered a child. Think about it, Dr. Jill, and forthwith drop the doc.”

From my perspective, Joseph gets graded an A for daring and an F for fairness, and F for accuracy—all physicians don’t deliver babies. Epstein seems to aspire to the Archie Bunker Chair for Political Science at Podunk University—without a doctorate.

The writer did not suggest Jill had not met doctoral qualifications, however light they may be. She earned her bachelor’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Delaware and master’s degrees from West Chester University and Villanova University. She has been an English professor at Northern Virginia Community College since 2009.

There was no accusation that Jill took short cuts in her education. She did “42 hours of doctoral study and 12 hours of development of a leadership portfolio.” She had to maintain “a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 in the courses.” She had to “complete and defend a proposal for their leadership portfolio.” That is common for the Ed.D. in place of writing a lengthy, much-footnoted dissertation.

Dr. Biden earned four degrees while rearing her family and teaching school earning her doctorate at age 55. She has a bachelor’s degree and two master’s degrees, in addition to a doctorate. In light of that fact, even a radical leftist Democrat who entered her marriage with Joe via an obvious sexual affair deserves praise, so congratulations to Dr. Biden from one who disagrees with all her political positions.

I don’t defend her because I also possess an Ed.D and a Ph.D. but because of honesty and consistency.

Few of Epstein’s critics dealt with substantive criticism in his article. I will do so. Epstein was thoughtless, careless, and unfair in suggesting Jill’s doctorate may be fraudulent and comic. That sounds to me like he was searching for something to say that might be acceptable to thoughtless, careless, and unfair readers.

It has been known for fifty years that if you want a less-than-rigorous doctorate, you go for the doctorate in education. Schools of Education are known for mediocracy. That does not mean Jill or I did not work hard for our degrees. It is a known fact that some degrees require more arduous work than others do, and some universities require more work than others require. As I was working on my Ed.D. decades ago, it was stated in an educational workshop that the Ed.D is often considered a little more difficult to obtain than a GED. And some in the room held that degree.

The teachers’ colleges are not considered rigorous institutions as seen in the former president of Teachers College, Columbia University, Arthur Levine, suggesting that the Ed.D. degree and even teachers’ colleges should be eliminated! The gathered educators gasped. The former president concluded that the curriculum for the education doctorate, the Ed.D, “is incoherent and that the doctorate of philosophy in school leadership, the Ph.D., should be reserved for researchers.” Levine declared, “We take in anybody with a credit card,” referring to the nation’s 1,200 education schools. “We take in people looking for fast, quick, easy degrees.” The degrees, he said, “are basically money mills for schools.”

Speaking at a news conference in 2005, Levine, dealing with the education of school leaders, said he had found that programs in educational leadership suffered from low admissions’ standards, weak faculties, and inappropriate degrees. Levine blasted schools of education for engaging in a “race to the bottom” to shovel degrees out the door. He said, “the Ed.D. should be eliminated as a monstrous waste of time and energy.” He said that most of the education leadership programs “range from inadequate to appalling, even at some of the nation’s leading universities.” He also declared that accreditation, the sacred cow of education, did not solve the problem.

Harvard University announced its reform by eliminating the Ed.D. and replacing it with a Ph.D. program. The university’s decision closed the first American Ed.D. program that was offered by Harvard for 90 years.

As to Dr. Biden’s choice of a dissertation, it would not rise to the level of the Socrates/Plato symposium in ancient Greece; but it might be appropriate to the times, the occasion, and the circumstances. Me thinks Epstein totally missed the target. This is not to overlook her misspelled words, poor math, quirkiness, and occasional nonsense in her dissertation.

Moreover, Epstein’s assertion that only medical degrees quality for the use of doctor is generally held—by medical doctors. But then, the general characterization of medical doctors having a god complex is well known. Those M.D.s who belittle other doctorates are audacious, asinine, and addlebrained. After all, most of those M.D.s, (who by the way, did not have to write a 40,000 to a 50,000-word dissertation) are highly knowledgeable about the nose, ears, or feet—but little else, including grammar and history. And about half of them failed or never took a course in “bedside manner.”

The level of education has deteriorated horribly in recent years. It was common a hundred years ago that an eighth-grade education was equal to the current high school education. Those in academia have known for years of the dumbing down of our schools at all levels. More than half of the nation’s prospective elementary school teachers fail their licensure exam on the first attempt. The average U.S. college freshman reads at a seventh-grade level, so it is no surprise that American higher education is in trouble.

Contrast that with early American Freshmen who, wanting to enroll in King’s College (now Columbia University), had to translate the first three of Cicero’s Select Orations from Latin to Greek and translate the first ten chapters of the Gospel of John from Greek to English. Most of the Ph.D. professors at Ivy League Universities today could not qualify as college freshmen over 200 years ago!

Remember the famous philosopher who said, “You can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.” If high schools continue to send inferior products to the universities, they will continue to produce inferior graduates. Of course, only about half of university students earn a degree. Maybe it is time to discuss affirmative action and “college for all.”

We’ve come a long way, baby; all downhill.

I won’t call Dr. Biden “kiddo” as Joseph Epstein did. He was off base there also.

With the abominable record of secular “elite” colleges, why would any sane person bribe officials to enroll in what have become ignorance factories?

It was common when I returned home from university or seminary to have family and friends ask, “What courses are you taking this semester?” I would reply, “Abnormal Psychology”; or “Western Civilization” or “New Testament Greek,” or “English Literature in the Middle Ages” and many other classes that required an enormous amount of time, thought, and tuition. When that question is asked today of young students, the answers will shock, anger, and frustrate any parent or thinking taxpayer.

It’s bad enough for students at Harvard, Duke, Princeton, and similar universities to enroll in frivolous courses at a time when college costs are alarmingly high, but another thing altogether when blatant liberal bias appears in classrooms at taxpayer-subsidized universities. Parents are paying astronomical tuition to have their kids brainwashed by leftists and some parents are bribing officials to guarantee a seat at Elite U.

Read and weep what you help finance and what some parents have paid up to $500,000 to get a kid accepted by Yale, University of California, Georgetown University, Stanford, and others. Because so many students cannot do the work, many universities have dumbed down their curriculum or eliminated challenging courses altogether. The Washington Post published an article headed, “A history degree without studying U.S. history? It’s possible at top colleges like Harvard, Yale and Stanford.” Other institutions of “higher learning” will graduate students without a single math course! At the University of Georgia, a Ph.D. candidate in creative writing can submit poems instead of a dissertation. And at the University of Michigan you can get a Ph.D. in literature without reading Shakespeare.

It is shocking to know that today’s students have been exposed to “Buffyology” (the study of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”), Elvish (the language of “Lord of the Rings”), “Harry Potter” and other TV shows and movies. If my children had taken such classes, I would have become apoplectic to know that some of my money was funding such piffle. Moreover, I would have stopped payment on any recently sent check to pay for such trash.

Students, not understanding that they are supposed to be preparing for their future, sit through such garbage as “How to Watch Television” at Montclair State University and “How to Get Dressed,” a freshman seminar at Princeton University. What students really need are classes on how to read, spell, compute, and how to work and make a life as well as a living.

Students at Harvard University can take “Feminist Biblical Interpretation,” a class that will concentrate on “the significance of feminist Hermeneutics for contemporary theological reflection and education for ministry.” Wonder how I made it in the ministry without that course.

At Carnegie Mellon University, students can study “Sex and Death,” a course that addresses the question of “whether we need to liberate death now that (maybe) we have figured sex out.” Obviously, they haven’t figured English out!

Women’s Studies students at Bowdoin can take “Music and Gender,” questioning if Beethoven’s Symphony 9 in D minor is a model for the process of rape! Wow, I would never have thought that was a possibility and neither would any normal person.

Students at Syracuse University can study “Gay and Lesbian Caribbean Literature” and will read “Caribbean poetry and short stories in homosexual literature.”

Georgetown students can enroll in “The Bible and Horror.” The class description states that the Bible “can be a scary book” and that it “often reads more like horror than religious literature.” I missed that in seminary.

Literature students at Cornell University can take “Bodies Politic: Queer Theory and Literature of the Body.”

Middlebury College offers “Images of Blackness and Whiteness in American Literature” where students will study “culturally coded images both shape and are shaped by American attitudes about racial identity.”

Students of sociology at Bucknell University can take “Women and Social Inequality” exploring “recent anthropological, historical, and sociological literature on gender inequality.”

Princeton University’s “The Cultural Production of Early Modern Women” studies “prostitutes,” “cross-dressing,” and “same-sex eroticism” in 16th and 17th century.

Students at Occidental College in California look into “The Unbearable Whiteness of Barbie: Race and Popular Culture in the United States.” They will explore “which scientific racism has been put to use in the making of Barbie [and] to an interpretation of the film The Matrix as a Marxist critique of capitalism.”

Occidental College offers a course in “Stupidity,” which compares the American presidency to Beavis and Butthead. Occidental scores again in the realm of ridiculous with “Blackness.” and they really rang the bell with “The Phallus.”

At John Hopkins University, students in the “Sex, Drugs, and Rock ‘n’ Roll in Ancient Egypt” class look at slideshows of women in ancient Egypt “vomiting on each other,” “having intercourse,” and “fixing their hair.”

Harvard University’s “Marxist Concepts of Racism” looks at “the role of capitalist development and expansion in creating racial inequality.”

Students at the University of California-Los Angeles will be taught what it means to be a lesbian. The “Psychology of the Lesbian Experience” reviews “various aspects of lesbian experience.”

Brown University’s “Black Lavender: A Study of Black Gay & Lesbian Plays and Dramatic Construction in the American Theatre” addresses the “identities and issues of Black gay men and lesbians, and offer[s] various points of view from within and without the Black gay and lesbian artistic communities.”

Students enrolled in the University of Michigan’s “Topics in Literary Studies: Ancient Greek/Modern Gay Sexuality” will read a “wide selection of ancient Greek (and a few Roman) texts that deal with same-sex love, desire, gender dissidence, and sexual behavior.”

Students at Dartmouth College, have “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Studies: Queer Marriage, Hate Crimes, and Will and Grace” for their learning. They will study contemporary issues in LGBT studies. Dartmouth also offers, “Religion: Beyond God the Father:” an introduction to gender and religion studies helping to create a “feminist philosophy of religion.”

Then the University of California-Los Angeles’ class on “Queer Musicology” should be exciting but not as stirring as the University of Washington’s “Border Crossings, Borderlands: Transnational Feminist Perspectives on Immigration.”

Mount Holyoke College’s offering of “Whiteness: The Other Side of Racism.” The University of Michigan is offering “Native American Feminisms”; Hollins University’s “Drag: Theories of Transgenderism and Performance”; and Hollins University’s “Lesbian Pulp Fiction.”

University of Florida offers “Black Hair Politics” providing an “examination of the history, sociology, psychology, and economics of Black hair. Students will explore the textures, styles, and meanings of Black hair as they relate to identity and power in society.”

University of South Carolina offers “Ecofeminism,” a class that is “an exploration of the connections between oppression of women and oppression of nature.”

Yale University provides their Ivy League students “Transgender Cultural Production,” an introduction to trans-studies that will “focus on transfeminist cultural production in the United States and Canada.”

Swarthmore College offers “Queering God: Feminist and Queer Theology.” This course examines feminist and queer writings about God and explores the tensions between feminist and queer theology. Key themes include gender, embodiment, masculinity, liberation, sexuality, and feminist and queer theory.

Montclair State University is supposed to be New Jersey’s best public university and it offers the course “Queer Identities in a Transforming World: The Trouble with Normal” as part of its “Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer Studies (GLQS) program for 2019.

It is incredible to see the way course offerings at these prestigious schools can be so crudely and uncritically filled with the cultural assumptions and stereotypes from the left. With so much emphasis on sexism, racism, and Marxism indoctrination, I don’t see how students find time to protest everything Trump does and says, have panty raids, and attend all-night beer parties.

The above information is astounding when one realizes that 40 percent of college students need remedial work in math and English yet they are exposed to such trash! A generation has been robbed by inept, incompetent, indecent educational institutions.

All state and federal tax dollars to such schools should be stopped; all gifts to such institutions should be stopped; and no parent should send his or her students to such schools. Moreover, any parent, university official, or agent who seeks to circumvent entrance requirements should go to prison.

That would get their attention although most leftists are slow learners.

Are schools run by idiots? Well, the short answer is yes and the long answer is “without a doubt.” All certified, accredited, and commissioned public schools are supported by duped, defrauded, and desperate taxpayers.

A Maryland high school punished a student for refusing to profess faith in Islam, gave her failing grades for a series of assignments that violated her Christian beliefs, then threatened her father with arrest for complaining. That is the Maryland in the U.S.A.

Obviously, something is wrong when Public School 189 in Manhattan handed out a stunning 19 suspensions to four-year-olds. Professional teachers can’t handle four-year-old kids!

With the teacher only a few feet away, a mentally challenged 15-year-old girl was gang-raped beneath her desk during class at an Elmont, N.Y., school. The girl was allegedly sexually assaulted for 10 minutes under her desk by two teenage boys. Another hit her on the head when she tried to escape. The boys tried to anally sodomize her as one of them danced on her desk and the deaf, dumb, and blind teacher saw, heard, and said nothing! The teacher was certified.

A World Geography teacher at a Texas high school encouraged students to dress in Islamic clothing and instructed them to refer to the 9-11 hijackers as “freedom fighters” not as terrorists.

At the University of California San Diego, the students in a visual arts class are required to come naked for their final exam! The professor is also naked as a jay bird. I suppose he believes he has nothing to hide.

A 5-year-old Pennsylvania girl who told another girl she was going to shoot her with a pink “Hello Kitty” toy gun that blows soap bubbles has been suspended from kindergarten. But she didn’t get thrown into the hoosegow.

A 6-year-old kindergarten student in Massachusetts is accused of causing a “disturbance” and “traumatizing” other students by bringing a very small plastic toy gun to the school. The “gun” brandished by the young boy was about the size of a quarter! Massachusetts is having a crime wave!

There was another dangerous gun incident when a second grader at Driver Elementary in Virginia was suspended for two days for making gun noises while pointing a pencil! A spokesperson for Suffolk Public Schools defended the school’s decision by saying, “A pencil is a weapon when it is pointed at someone in a threatening way and gun noises are made.” Sure.

A Harvard professor wrote in the Harvard Magazine, “The goal of abolishing the white race is on its face so desirable that some may find it hard to believe that it could incur any opposition….” We are told that only Whites can be racists but obviously, anyone can be stupid!

A University of Iowa professor recently argued that if you like white marble that was used in classical artwork then you are contributing to “white supremacist ideas today.”

Yale University had a “Sex Weekend” workshop to encourage an “open discussion of incest, bestiality, prostitution, and consensual pain during intercourse.”

University of Michigan kicked Inter-Varsity off campus because they required members and leaders to be Christian! How dare a Christian group require its members and leadership to be Christian!

A public school in Massachusetts refused to listen to parents’ protests and permitted a performance of the pro-homosexual play, “The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told” that mocks the Bible and promotes perverted sex. The sex comedy ran in New York City theaters and was ready for the big time: public schools.

“The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told” corrupts the Genesis account to include homosexual couples Adam and Steve and Jane and Mabel in the Garden. There is also a “horny” rhinoceros that tries to seduce Noah and his sons on the Ark. But it gets worse. Mary, the mother of Christ, says that she can’t be pregnant because she’s a lesbian “bull-dyke.” Financed by tax dollars!

The Theater Mirror, a New England theater guide, gave this play a glowing review stating the play “gets so specific as to be a gay how-to sexbook” and summarizes it as “a goofy gay romp with a serious sting in its tale.” Students may not be able to read, think, and make change (as in money), but they will be conversant in perverse sex.

The family of a 7-year-old New York City boy is threatening to sue police for $250 million after they say cops treated him more like a hardened criminal than a third-grader. Wilson Reyes’ family claims police hauled him out of class at Public School 114 in the Bronx, hauled him down to the police station, and handcuffed him to a wall while they “interrogated” him for a total of 10 hours about a schoolyard fight over $5.

Folks, all the nuts are not in California. Some are running your public schools.

And you still have your children in a public school!

Harvard University, founded in 1636, is the oldest institution of higher education in the United States. It was named after the College’s first benefactor, a young minister John Harvard. John was from a wealthy British family, most who died of plague leaving him to control the family fortune. When he died in 1638, he left his library and half his estate to fund the college that was to train ministers of the Gospel. A statue of John Harvard stands today in front of University Hall in Harvard Yard, and is perhaps the University’s best known landmark. However, practically all the faculty and almost all the students would be embarrassed if they knew what he really believed.

Harvard College consisted of an acre of land and a house with one professor. The first graduation class consisted of nine graduates. For many years, at least half the graduates became ministers. Students had to prove their fitness for the bachelor’s degree by showing that they could read the original Hebrew and Greek of the Old and New Testaments and translate them into the Latin tongue, and “resolve them logically.”

The early motto of Harvard was “Truth for Christ and the Church;” however, when unbelieving radicals took over, every word was deleted except “truth.” I’m afraid truth was also deleted and it has long been denigrated and denied.

One point of the “Harvard College Laws” of 1642 was “to know God better.” For example: “Let every student be plainly instructed and earnestly pressed to consider well the main end of his life and studies is to know God and Jesus Christ which is eternal life.” Plus each student was to read the Bible twice a day!

In 1654, Harvard’s first president Henry Dunster and his wife were thrilled at the birth of their son but a problem arose when he refused to have his son “baptized” as per the Congregational Church where he was a member. Dunster had recently been convinced that baptism was not sprinkling of babies but immersion of believers thereby teaching the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. The Puritans were apoplectic!

Dunster had witnessed the whipping of Obadiah Holmes for being a Baptist in New England! That incident forced the Harvard president to rethink his theology. He came out Baptist. He felt the heat from the Puritans and finally exiled himself in 1654 to nearby Plymouth Colony for his health–he wanted to stay alive!

By the early 1700s, the Christians lost control of Harvard to the unbelievers (liberals), then Unitarians and it has been downhill to this day with periods of light and darkness.

Louis Agassiz, biologist, geologist, and medical doctor, was considered one of the greatest scientists of the 19th century and taught at Harvard from 1848 to 1873. Agassiz, an active Christian, was a friend of Darwin but vigorously opposed him saying, that “the crowning act of the Creator, man, was placed on the earth at the head of creation.” Years later, Stephen Jay Gould filled the same position at Harvard as Agassiz, but he could never fill his shoes.

W.E.B. Du Bois was the first black to receive a Ph.D. from Harvard and was a founder of the NAACP who championed the word “colored” instead of “black.” He died after a lifetime of leftist causes (often as a community organizer) never meeting a Communist he didn’t like.
Harvard showed their loony, leftist leanings when they had Fidel Castro as guest of the Law School Forum and gave Nelson Mandela an honorary doctorate.

Because Harvard cut itself loose from any stabilizing influence, it has become rich and raucous. It is one of the main cheerleaders for left wing activities, and is a propaganda factory for the left, supporting totalitarians on the left and the vile “isms” such as Marxism, Darwinism, Freudianism, Higher Criticism, multiculturalism, relativism, naturalism, positivism, socialism, liberalism, radical environmentalism, and other studies such as feminist studies, gay studies, transgender studies, transvestite studies, outcome-based education, etc.

Harvard’s descent from true scholarship, sanity, and the Scripture is not surprising. It has happened to all such schools and was foretold in II Tim. 4:3-4, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”

Universities were started in the Middle Ages and were modeled on guilds which trained and evaluated apprentices and journeymen. Universities majored on theology, philosophy, rhetoric, etc., instead of carpentry, cobbling, and other necessary occupations. Today, the schools of higher learning are propaganda palaces, indoctrination institutions, and sex symposiums.

This week was Harvard’ Sex Week and their website reveals the sessions”will dispel myths about anal sex and give you insight into why people do it and how to do it well.” No one will ask if it is healthy, normal, or right. Gasp! Right is whatever one believes to be right. There is no “wrong,” well, except it is wrong to disagree with abortion, perversion, same-sex-marriage, and gun control.

There were sessions on “Losing Your (Concept of) Virginity,” “Brown Girlz Do it Well: a Queer Diaspora Remix,” “What What in the Butt: Anal Sex 101,” “Fifty Shades of False: Kink, Fantasy, and Fetish” and more, much more. Ain’t education great! A lesbian porn producer was also scheduled to speak. Sure sorry I missed that.

The Sex Week pitch declares, “Learn the facts about this exciting yet often misunderstood form of pleasure, find out the common mistakes people make, and get all your questions answered!” No doubt there are millions of people who have some questions. In fact, I have some: Are there any sane people still working for or attending Harvard? Where are the few professors and students who will stand in Harvard Yard and denounce the debauchery? How can there be any educational value in such vileness? Is there even an iota of morality being taught? What have these “teachers” and students been taught in younger years? Where are the parents of the students; why are they not literally marching on the Harvard campus? Where are the university trustees? Obviously, they are not very trustworthy. Do these dummies really think they are chic?

All honest, sane people know the anus was not made for sex and is very vulnerable for all kinds of diseases and physical problems when its use is perverted.

What a tragedy that Harvard was stolen from Bible believers and is now the antithesis of what the school’s founders believed. If Harvard’s leaders had any character they would return the school to the original Calvinists who were responsible for the school.

Evidently the squirrels haven’t gathered all the nuts yet. The nuts are all over college campuses especially at Harvard this week.

Full disclosure: I am a lifetime critic of public education. Most of my education was in Christian colleges and universities. All of my children were educated in Christian schools through the university level. Same with most of my grandchildren. I would not be saddened if public education fell to the ground like a piece of rotten fruit leaving each town to provide secondary education for all children. I believe in separation of school and state since there is not a word in the U. S. Constitution about education! Moreover, the Federal Government should have nothing to do with education–nothing.

If I were the Education Czar, I would make major changes that would restore sanity, safety, and scholarship to schools, and then I would turn everything over to each state:

*My first actions would be to immediately remove and burn in front of every school all Common Core Curriculum. I would add to the flames such “classics” from each school’s library as Johnny Has Two Daddies, Heather Has Two Mommies, Run, Alice Run, and similar garbage. And I would laugh when fools remind me that Hitler and other tyrants burned books. Hitler also constructed great highways and build good automobiles. Christians in Acts 19 burned a vast amount of damaging books with great success following the bonfire.

*All principals and administrators would be required to have at least five year’s classroom experience. I would cut the number of administrators by 35%. They really aren’t that necessary to a quality school. I would not be concerned about their college training but their knowledge, experience, and common sense.

*Each student would be tested to ascertain his grade level in math, English, history, and reading then an educational prescription would be written followed by a personalized curriculum designed for his specific needs. It is educational folly to assume that all ten-year-olds are working at the same level in all subjects! To place all students in the same grade determined by their age is an administrative convenience. It is one of the biggest mistakes made in all schools–public, private, and Christian. If funding is available then a few “frill” courses would be added.

*I would seek to repeal all compulsory attendance laws. If a kid wants to be a bum, let him be a bum with parents’ approval. After all, the attendance laws are seldom enforced anyway.

*All security guards would be fired and each school would boast of having at least two armed teachers. It would be commonly known that at least two anonymous teachers with proper gun training would be in each school. Those teachers would be paid an extra $1000 per year. Students would be told that the armed teachers would be expected to shoot any student who seeks his “fifteen minutes of fame” by killing others.

*I would hire teachers regardless of their degree. In fact, I would prefer teachers not educated in teachers’ colleges–hotbeds of incompetence. It is an acknowledged fact that the Ed.D (one of my two doctorates) is the easiest to earn and most useless doctoral degree.

*I would hire teachers who have character and would fire any teacher who boozed, used illegal drugs, or slept around. Those teachers would stay fired. I would recommend that any teacher having sex with a student would spend 25 years in prison.

*There would be no smoking of anything on school grounds by anyone at any time.

*All teachers and staff would dress up, not down. All men would wear dress shirts and ties and women would wear dresses or skirts and blouses. It is a fact that classroom discipline is linked to student and teacher dress.

*Teachers would receive merit pay depending on the progress of their students. I would also pay teachers an extra $1000 if they agreed not to join the NEA!

*Schools would be for education, not to make kids feel better about themselves. Those elementary students who disobey would be paddled on the rear, a place provided by a designing God for that purpose. Any disobedient, disruptive, or disorderly high school student would be led to the front door and told to never return.

*Each student would be expected to read by the end of the first grade. If not, he would not be passed to the second grade. Any normal child can be taught to read if the teacher knows how to teach. It is commonly known that children in Christian kindergartens learn to read before the end of the school year.

*All students would be assigned a seat and no one would be permitted to move around the room or to speak without permission. The teacher would rule the room like a tin-horn dictator of a Banana Republic!

*All students would be taught the Ten Commandments each year and when caught in a lie would be required to write on the board 100 times, “Thou shalt not lie.” When caught stealing, they would write, “Thou shalt not steal.” Any state could choose to have Bible reading and prayer in their schools.

*Any student who brings weapons to school, is involved in violence, uses booze or illegal drugs would be expelled permanently. “Shooting” other students on the playground with toy guns, fingers, or sticks would be permitted even if it caused whinny, leftist teachers to hyperventilate and females to experience premature hot flashes.

*Any student, teacher, administrator, or school board member suggesting that sex education, death education, etc., be added to the curriculum would be tarred and feathered!

My last act in office would be to close down the Department of Education putting thousands of federal workers back into productive work and off the backs of taxpayers.

Then I might consider becoming Obama’s Energy Czar! Obama, has my number. And I assure everyone that I have had his number since before his election! I called him an “empty suit” and a novice before he was elected and crowned and my opinion has only been enhanced during his disastrous tenure.

The younger Nyquist whines, “the church has deeply hurt us.” No, the church did not hurt him, it was people. Moreover, maybe Carson is a little too sensitive. Maybe he is relishing in his victimhood caused by the older generation. He is sure proud of being a “Millennial” and opines that “few generations before us are so quick to acknowledge failure.” Well, yes, but their failures are so obvious. The previous generation, as all generations, generated massive failures but then, we are all broken, sinful people. The “Millennials” are the same, only younger and more whiney.

Carson declares, as if anyone questions it, “Perfection is a standard no one can meet.” Did it take a few years at Moody and Dallas to comprehend that truth?

Carson assures us, “We value the environment and are the most socially conscious generation in recent history.” That trivial statement would make Congregational pastor, Washington Gladden, (stimulus for the social gospel in the late 1800s) stand up and cheer. Wow, surely Carson could, if he would, be a little more biblical than boast about tree-hugging.

Carson said, “Christian morals are not held as they once were…. In fact, I would argue, as many others do, that this [new morals] is exactly what the church needs.” He is getting ready to hit his stride with his main issue as he discusses morals: homosexuality. “The Christian reputation, established primarily by the previous generation, has been known to show judgment and doctrinal separation. Few would describe this conversation as loving.” But is it biblical? The Millennial and Emergent Church pitch is “don’t be judgmental” even if the Bible demands it. That doesn’t go well with his generation. Adjust, be flexible. “Don’t be so hardnosed” is their mantra.

Another string they constantly strum is their reproof, revulsion, and rejection of doctrine and doctrinal separation. All the loosey-goosey Evangelical groups detest the message of Paul: “Come out from among them.” The Millennials want to stay in and well, not fight but fellowship and fraternize with the ungodly. Might win one now and then. To what?

He adds that the church, because of its harshness and labeling homosexuality as “sin,” has alienated the homosexual community. “I want nothing to do with that reputation.” He writes about the church’s negative reputation in the “gay” community. He approvingly quoted a pro-homosexual blogger who was present at a “gay” pride rally: “I hugged a man in his underwear. I think Jesus would have too.” No, Jesus would have told him to get saved and put on some clothes. The man would have clothed himself as did the demoniac of Gadara. When people get right, they get dressed. The further away from God, the less clothing.

The blogger went on: “I spent the day at Chicago’s Pride Parade.” He and some friends wore shirts stating “I’m sorry that Christians judge you.” “I’m sorry the way churches have treated you.” “I used to be a bible-banging homophobe, sorry.” Well, since all Christians are to follow Bible commands, I wonder how such compromise can be defended in light of Gen. 19 when God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities of the plain. Has God changed or has Moody changed?

Carson goes on: “Pietistic compulsion to share our convictions does not lead to relationship or reconciliation.” How about repentance? Repentance must precede relationship and reconciliation.

He then deals with the woman in Luke 7 who kissed Christ’s feet and wept. Carson is trying to make a comparison of homosexuals visiting a church and being rejected. Of course, Christ accepted her but Carson doesn’t seem to understand that she had repented and had been forgiven. He added, “What would others think if their community group welcomed a lesbian? Image management rises to the surface and trumps all.” No, truth trumps all and any lesbian would be accepted after repentance.

Some think this was Mary Magdalene but with no biblical reason. The woman in the passage was probably a heathen, a Gentile and maybe a prostitute. She kissed Christ’s feet which was not a Jewish custom. Polybius reported on ambassadors from Carthage who supplicated the Romans for peace in the early 200s B.C. With a humble and abject mind, they fell down and “kissed the feet of the council.” Kissing the feet was a heathen practice and was not part of a Jew’s practice.

Carson does not want to be connected to a faith that takes an anti-homosexual stand. Of course, many Millennials don’t want to stand for anything. He doesn’t want to be identified with that faith. I don’t think he has much to worry about.

Paul added, “We don’t want a watered-down version of God’s word,” however, that is exactly what the Nyquists have and evidently Moody Bible Institute, Moody Press, and Moody Radio have the same. The father declared on the radio program, “We both hold strongly to the biblical standards on homosexuality and any form of sexual perversion.” What a statement! Both men know what the Bible teaches about fornication, bestiality, homosexuality, necrophilia, so how could an honest person make such a statement? They are public apologists for abnormality.

Closing the program, Carson spoke of his tattoo (on his side) saying it was a spiritual experience! He defended tattoos by saying that most of his friends had tattoos and “It’s like wearing a tie.” No, it is not. According to one writer in the Pacific News Service, tattoos are a “new reverence for pagan beliefs.” Lev. 19:28 clearly commands “Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.” Carson’s dad, president of Moody Bible Institute said of his son’s body marking, “I am fine with that.”

The book is recommended by Glenn R. Kreider, professor at Dallas Seminary. It is not recommended by me! And neither is Moody Bible Institute, Publishing, or Radio recommended by me. And in quiet moments I wonder how any Dallas professor can recommend such a book.

Millennials want to break with their rigid past and have a warm, fuzzy, Christianity. They don’t like to be pressured into a pure, biblical life. They prefer to be uncommitted, unconnected, and unaccountable.

Their book deserves to be unread.

Fuller was founded by old time Fundamentalist, Charles E. Fuller, along with Harold Ockenga, and a few other “recovering Fundamentalists” who wanted to be known as “Evangelicals” or “New Evangelicals.” But now, like many Evangelicals, the seminary has drunk the toxic Kool-Aid of heresy and I doubt they will rest in peace.

Fuller Seminary and the evangelical movement were started in the late 1940s to disassociate themselves from Fundamentalism. Fundamentalists were considered too militant, too non-conformist, too separatist–in other words, too biblical. Fundamentalists made loosey-goosey preachers feel as uncomfortable as a dog in hot ashes. Many early Evangelicals admitted that they held to the doctrines of old fundamentalism but wanted to be more inclusive and intellectual. Or at least to make a pretense at intellectualism and they wanted the respectability that would never accrue to Fundamentalists. I believe the Apostle Paul said something about Christians being considered the off scouring of the earth.

After watching the compromise, conformity, and capitulation of Evangelicals such as the people at Fuller, I am thrilled they decided to separate from Fundamentalists in the late 1940s. That way, I don’t have to apologize for them or to inform everyone that I am not one of them. It is incredible that those people separated from genuine, Bible Christians but refused to separate from worldly, weird, and even wicked liberal professing but non-possessing Christians!

It is a fact that when doctrine is loosely held, everything begins to slide. That is why God commands us in Acts 2:42 to continue “stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.” Fuller Seminary has never been steadfast other than being steadfastly against Fundamentalists! They love Liberals and hate Fundamentalists!

God warns us in Eph. 4:14 to grow up; think like an adult. Don’t be “tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine.” Fuller has been tossed about since it opened its doors because it did not have a sure Anchor.

In 1 Tim. 1:10 Paul warns, “For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine.” The word “arsenokoitais” means “them that defile themselves with mankind” or sodomites. Sodomy was the sin that was a “crime against nature” and the unmentionable sin. Sodomy was common in Greece and Rome, even China–and as it is today. Sodomites are now acceptable at Fuller–as long as they are celibate!

The homosexual group calling itself, “One Table” exists to “support the LGBTQ community at Fuller Seminary,” while also offering “a safe place for dialogue between LGBTQ students and the wider Fuller community.” The student/founder wants to “carve out … acceptance for other gays in the broader evangelical community through his role as president of the nation’s first LGBT student club sanctioned by a major evangelical seminary.” He made his intentions clear and Fuller gave permission for the group to meet on campus!

But it gets worse because the LGBTQ leader has grandiose ambitions of queer “evangelism.” He said, “I really hope that people will see Fuller and One Table as a model of what the body of the church is supposed to do in this situation.” However, what the church is supposed to do is preach that perversion is sinful; consequently, homosexuals must repent, and if there is no repentance, they must be excluded from church membership as a declaration of the seriousness of their sin and as a warning to others. Such action will also be a display of love for truth and for the homosexuals as well a display of courage on the part of the church. Those who approve of “gays” hate them while those of us who disapprove of their activities love them!

The school official who approved the group declared that permitting the group on campus was not an acceptance of homosexuality; but of course, he doesn’t know the definition of the word! Acceptance means approval! Officials require group members to be celibate and cannot advocate politically for their lifestyle of choice. That naïve official has been living in a cave for 25 years. Plus, the club’s leader has already identified with the LGBTQ movement and its agenda!

Fuller’s new president, Mark Labberton, declared that the school’s position “is clear.” As a mug of mud. The “gay” club leader clearly stated his intention to affirm the rights of homosexuals in the “broader evangelical community” (that would include Fuller) yet Mark declared that the “gay” club could not be “an advocacy group to alter seminary policy nor to direct any efforts in that direction.” The seminary president and the club president are not singing the same hymn. And everyone knows the resident lesbian will be the group’s biggest supporter.

I wonder what will be the next “Evangelical” college or seminary to see the “progressive” light and welcome homosexual groups to the “table.” That “table” is sure not God’s table since only His family sits there.
