sex abuse – Don Boys https://donboys.cstnews.com Common Sense for Today Sun, 05 Mar 2023 04:46:50 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=4.6.29 The Pendulum of Sexual Accusations Has Swung too Far Against Men! https://donboys.cstnews.com/the-pendulum-of-sexual-accusations-has-swung-too-far-against-men https://donboys.cstnews.com/the-pendulum-of-sexual-accusations-has-swung-too-far-against-men#respond Mon, 04 Jun 2018 14:13:02 +0000 http://donboys.cstnews.com/?p=2116 Thoughtful people have read of the numerous “beautiful people” of the media world who have been exposed as repeated rapists–and many women as beautiful whores. Only God knows the innocent women who have been molested or raped–and likewise, the men who have been falsely accused.

Everyone knows the media crowd are generally a bunch of unstable, unprincipled, and untrustworthy lowlifes and increasingly that immorality is infecting the general population because of their music, movie, and television influence. If the plunge continues, we will have to change our national symbol from the noble eagle to the nasty buzzard.

But the sexual accusations against men have an ominous portent for America; and men, in general, are in danger. In fact, leftists and other opportunists are using a legitimate issue, i.e. sexual assault on women, as an excuse to attack our basic foundational principles. It seems their goal is to always believe the women, no matter the circumstances, and castigate the men–whether guilty or not!

I just read an ominous piece titled, “Effective Report Writing: Using the Language of Non-Consensual Sex” and funded in part by you, the taxpayer! It is a course that teaches police authorities how to prepare a report that reflects negatively on the trustworthiness of the accused men! It was sponsored by End Violence Against Women International (EVAWI) and their website says they are dedicated to “changing the way we respond to sexual assault in our communities. Our goal is to pave the way for survivors to achieve justice and healing, so the decision to come forward and seek help is a safe one. Our vision is to end the cycle of repeat offenses and assure that rapists are held accountable.”

Well, no sane person could disagree with that goal except sex abusers; however, the good ladies are willing to stomp on the Constitution with stiletto heels to achieve their lofty goals. They make that clear with their motto Start by Believing; however, police are supposed to assume any accuser may have ulterior motives. The accuser may want payback; she may want a payday; she may be a scorned woman; or she just may be a dingbat. But no, now police officials are told to consider all accusers as sincere and become an advocate for them!

Any police chief who implements this unlawful, unconstitutional, and unfair plan should be forced to stand before his entire force and be drummed out of the department.

You know, I am surprised that I am constantly surprised. I know that the leftist mind is corrupt so it constantly spews corruption. But, I keep thinking that even they would be queasy about promoting such nonsense. But, no, they keep surprising and shocking me.

Police investigators are told to “record witness statements, especially those that corroborate the victim’s account or provide an implausible or even absurd version of reality.” They are told to “recreate the entire reality of the sexual assault from the perspective of the victim.”

All men are in the crosshairs of these looney ladies but it is really dangerous to be in the crosshairs of police authorities.

Hey, if there is no doubt about a woman being raped, then of course tell the account to best prosecute the pig; however, the police investigator does not know that at the time. Police should give no more credibility to the accuser than to the accused. Remember, he is an accused person at this time not a guilty person. She could be lying in her teeth and he could be totally innocent.

But it gets worse. Police are told to “Recreate the Reality of the Sexual Assault from the Victim’s Perspective.” Not if I’ve been accused! After that statement, emphasized in main word caps, the report has to gall to assert, “While the role of law enforcement is as an unbiased fact finder, a key component of this process is to document and seek to corroborate every aspect possible from the victim’s account of events.” However, she is an alleged victim until evidence proves otherwise.

Officers are told to ask the alleged victim what she felt and thought during the alleged rape. However, if it was consensual and it happened years ago, she may editorialize and say that she was frightened that she would be killed if she did not obey. Or, she may not admit that it was consensual. Men are at the mercy of any dishonest, designing, and disgusting woman.

In this 34-page report, investigators are urged to go beyond being neutral but are asked to “overcome” defense attorneys in sexual assault cases! It is to be assumed that all accusations are gospel truth and this is obvious since victim is used hundreds of times and alleged and accuser don’t even appear once! Is anyone willing to use the words bogus, bias, and bigotry?

Investigators are told that their focus should be on getting statements that “corroborate the victim’s account or provide an implausible or even absurd version of reality.” Wow, there goes all neutrality and presumption of innocent. No matter how absurd!

Investigators are told that when inconsistencies are uncovered during an investigation, they should not prejudice the claims of the female! After all, false accusations seldom happen. Yea, tell that to the boys at Duke University.

Investigators are to “make sure” that the finished report does not resemble a “consensual sexual experience.” What these ladies demand is to start any sexual accusation investigation with presumptive guilt of the man and the angel-like innocence of the woman. Forget ethics, impartiality, honesty, fairness, and justice. Yet, this horrible, irresponsible report has been disseminated across our nation’s law enforcement agencies!

When an accused man presents a robust defense, it is alleged to be victim-bashing. Going into a trial, the woman is told, “You will be believed”; however, if that is acceptable then we can do away with the investigators, judges, and the whole judicial system. Some cities are even piloting pretrial cross-examinations to shield the accusers from a thorough interview so as to not traumatize the victim a second time. Wait a minute. Thus far, no evidence has been developed to prove there was a first time trauma. They even suggest that victim be replaced with survivor. Wow, that’s fair!

It should be remembered, and a reminder should not be necessary, that the judicial system is not to promote any social, moral, economic, or religious agenda. Its main object is justice, not to make a bunch of women giddy with their cause, however noble it may be. Justice for all, female and male should be the end result. The guilty must never escape and the innocent must prevail; but in the real world made up of flawed humans, we know that the ideal does not always prevail. However, going into a case with the presumption of guilt always on the male makes no more sense than going into a case with the presumption of guilt always on the female and both are only a step this side of insanity and a step from legal anarchy.

Most of the media seem to take the position that if a woman said it then that’s all the evidence needed! It doesn’t matter about the circumstances, about her credibility, nothing else matters. She is a woman! As comedian and writer Kurt Metzger factiously said, “ALL women are as reliable as my bible! A book that, much like a women, is incapable of lying!”

Well, the Bible can always be trusted but not all women (or men) can be. The above report is a disgusting, disturbing, and dangerous piece of rubbish that had to be prepared by devious and irresponsible zealots.

Eugene J. Kanin did a study published in Archives of Sexual Behavior titled, “False Rape Allegations” in a “small metropolitan community, 45 consecutive, disposed, false rape allegations covering a 9 year period….” According to the study, the false rape charges constitute 41% of the total forcible rape cases reported during this period. “These false allegations appear to serve three major functions for the complainants: providing an alibi, seeking revenge, and obtaining sympathy and attention.” The false charges “reflect impulsive and desperate efforts to cope with personal and social stress situations.” Now that report makes reflects reality.

All women are flawed creatures like the rest of us so they can lie. False accusations can destroy a man, his family, and his future. All sexual assaults should be seriously looked at and any rapist should be hanged (literally) and any false accuser should be branded with an L on her forehead and horse whipped out of town (figuratively).

After second thought, I believe, no; all right, I’ll settle for figuratively.

Does Immodest Dress Cause Sexual Attacks? https://donboys.cstnews.com/does-immodest-dress-cause-sexual-attacks https://donboys.cstnews.com/does-immodest-dress-cause-sexual-attacks#respond Fri, 26 Jan 2018 04:07:14 +0000 http://donboys.cstnews.com/?p=2012 King David did not climb into bed with Bathsheba because he saw her naked but because he followed his own sinful heart. However, it is dishonest to say she was not culpable.

David was a popular, fifty-year-old-plus king of one of the greatest nations on earth and he would have been wise to follow his own advice in Psalm 24:4 as to having a pure heart when he saw Bathsheba taking a bath. Even though David had multiple wives and concubines, he wanted what was illegal for him to have. He wanted Bathsheba and he took her and paid for it for the rest of his life. King David’s sinful urge of the moment became a sorrowful scourge of a lifetime.

When the king viewed from his rooftop a young, beautiful Bathsheba bathing, he was not concerned with her dress but her undress. David manipulated people and events to get her into his bed; after all, he was the king and some perks went with that position. This was an example of God’s man not acting like God’s man.

There are a few theologians who teach that Bathsheba trapped David, but that is conjecture. The King was guilty but Bathsheba was also blameworthy. After all, she did reveal her body and while a subject of David’s, she did not cry “rape.” Even in that absolute monarchy, a principled woman, if she wanted to be believed, should have resisted as Deut. 22:24 requires her to do. Even if she had played him like a banjo to get him into bed, he was a big boy and he made the decision. Both of them were responsible for the sin of adultery.

Females have often been instructed to dress modestly because seductive dress will make men lust after them. Moreover, females should dress modestly because it is right to do so. It is honoring to Christ for women and men to dress modestly.

Evidently, Bathsheba was not concerned about bathing where others could see her just as many modern women are not concerned about dressing immodestly. Detractors charge that promoters of modesty believe that sex is sinful and the human body is dirty and bad, but such talk comes from people who are frantically looking for a supportive argument. It is a fact that all body organs and skin are not made equal. Most men will quickly agree that female breasts are much more interesting than elbows, but you knew that didn’t you!

Speaking to husbands, Solomon declared in Proverbs 5:19, “let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.” Ravished means to be drunk, so sex between husband and wife is expected to be fervent, frequent, and fantastic (for wife as well as husband). However, it is immoral for a female to uncover her body to gain attention from men who don’t have a legitimate right to see her. Critics accuse advocates of modesty of being sexually repressive, but that is a childish, empty argument.

The creator of the miniskirt and hot pants, fashion designer Mary Quant said, “I love vulgarity. Good taste is death, vulgarity is life.” What a fool! She proved that when you drink from a polluted fountain you always get polluted water. She helped make vulgarity arguable, available, then acceptable.

Some people uncover their body not to tempt others but simply to exhibit themselves. In other words, many women are exhibitionists and might be shocked if men approached them for sexual activity. Those women would be shocked if a man misread their intentions and approached them for sex, but those women must share a part of the blame for sending unwanted signals to predator men.

The Apostle Paul told women in I Tim. 2:9, “In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array.” That passage teaches women to dress appropriately without any excesses that would attract unwarranted attention to them. It was common in that day for women to weave thin gold and silver strips and wire into their hair. Paul was informing them and us that that is unnecessary, unacceptable, and undesirable and was now unscriptural.

The Apostle Paul was telling us that it is not good for Christian ladies to pay such attention to their hair as the heathen do. All dress for both genders should be suitable for the place, time, and occasion. Paul was also saying that women should pay attention to themselves because neglect is just as wrong as the other extreme. A woman should not be an offense to any class of people and during those days, the church had people from all social strata. He is not saying that the use of gold and silver is wrong, only the excessive use is wrong. He is saying, “Stop trying to appear like the wicked ladies around you. You are servants of Christ. Act and dress like it.”

In ancient Greece, the wife of Phocion, a illustrious Athenian general, had a visit from a rich lady who was elegantly adorned with gold and jewels, and her hair festooned with pearls. The visitor took occasion to call attention to the elegance and costliness of her dress but her host replied, “My ornament is my husband, now for the twentieth year general of the Athenians.” Good putdown. She valued her longtime marriage more than gold, silver, and pearls; she did not feel a need to use gold and silver to establish her person, her prestige or her place in the world.

Both men and women should err on the side of caution. It is better to be too narrow than too broad. Women’s dress should be modest (not frumpy) and men should keep their eyes on her elbows–and their hands to themselves. When advantage is taken, the man should receive a sock in the chops if he rapes her, he should go to prison for life!

The Bible warns us in I Pet. 3:4 not to be so concerned with clothes, gold, and jewels but “let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.”

It’s a fact: God knows what’s important; but evidently, many powerful men and women do not.

Immodest women have hung signs around their necks: “Handle roughly–for sale–cheap–use and toss away.” While their immodesty does not cause sexual attacks, it surely contributes to them.

And men, being men are doing what unscrupulous, uncaring, and unprincipled men always do.

Have Sexual Abusers Been Disciplined by their Churches? https://donboys.cstnews.com/have-sexual-abusers-been-disciplined-by-their-churches https://donboys.cstnews.com/have-sexual-abusers-been-disciplined-by-their-churches#respond Mon, 22 Jan 2018 18:10:10 +0000 http://donboys.cstnews.com/?p=2010 Have the sexual abusers been disciplined by their churches? If not, why not? After all, every church has minimal standards for members and surely sexual abusers must be dealt with if for nothing else but to keep them from harming others. Plus, keeping such unrepentant scum will besmirch the entire membership. The principle of church discipline is something not seen much anymore even in Evangelical and Fundamentalist churches.

It was an astounding turn of events when the Bishop of Milan brought the Emperor of the Roman Empire under church discipline! The Emperor capitulated to the preacher and for the first time in history, the civil government surrendered to the authority of a church leader!

In 390, in the Greek city of Thessalonica, authorities imprisoned a charioteer of that city for homosexuality; however, the charioteer was one of the city’s favorites. Riots broke out when the governor refused to release him and the Roman Governor and a few others were killed in the brawl, and the charioteer was released.

Theodosius, Emperor of the Roman Empire, was livid and was determined to exact revenge over the death of one of his officials and the flaunting of the law. He announced another chariot race, but after the crowds arrived, the gates were locked and the Thessalonians were massacred by the emperor’s soldiers. Within three hours 7,000 men, women, and children were dead.

Ambrose, Bishop of Milan, sent a scalding letter to the Emperor. Ambrose was convinced that this parishioner, the Emperor, had committed a grievous and public sin that had to be dealt with by the church. In his letter Ambrose told the Emperor that until he repented publicly he would not be allowed to receive Communion. Ambrose had excommunicated the Emperor, not an ordinary church member; however, the Bible teaches that all Christians are on the same level. No special treatment should be given to a rich or powerful person. Theodosius was both rich and powerful–the most powerful man on earth!

Theodosius had done what emperors always do. He sent in the army to teach a lesson to the Greeks of Thessalonica, and by extension the rest of the empire. Ambrose was not a pacifist, but he knew that the emperor’s actions needed to be condemned even if it meant the very real possibility of being sent to prison or killed. Emperors don’t usually like to be challenged. Against all odds, Emperor Theodosius repented and publicly sought reconciliation with his bishop. And a few years later the Emperor died in the arms of the Bishop who had disciplined him!

Church discipline has been practiced for over 2000 years; although in recent years, it has been one of the least important practices of any church, especially when powerful people are the perpetrators. It is noteworthy that both Hitler and Mussolini died “in the arms of the church.” The Catholic leaders were very lax in doing their duty in bringing discipline upon them.

Many churches today are as weak, wimpy, and wobbly in this matter as the Catholics who preach against abortion and homosexuality but never deal with major proponents of those sins. Baptists and Protestants are just as guilty as the Catholics.

Bill Clinton grew up in Southern Baptist Churches, a group that touts its adherence to the Bible; however, they sure looked the other way when it came to Bill’s sexual activities. His pastor should have called him into his office without any secret service men present and told him that his numerous affairs as governor of Arkansas and as President of the U.S. could not be justified or countenanced. That would be a very long appointment as each affair is discussed and admitted. In fact, his sins must be repented of, confessed publicly in a church service, and restitution made to any woman who was harmed.

Bill had no intention of repenting of his sins. That would have meant that he would have to stop his predatory lifestyle.

Hillary’s pastor would tell her, “Hillary we love you but you are embarrassing our church when you curse and throw things at the President of the U.S. Your cursing fits are legendary especially the one where you threw your Bible at the head of a secret service agent and used the most vulgar curse word. That was one of the most disgraceful episodes in White House history. It requires a private confession and a public apology. Americans must understand that such actions are damaging and disgraceful, if not demented. Moreover, it is not seemly to curse, scream, and throw lamps at Bill. Obviously, you two should have attended our Christian Couples’ Conference last month. You would have found especially helpful the session, Why a Christian Wife Should Never Throw Things at Her Husband! and Bill could have been helped by the session, Bad Things Happen When a Man Doesn’t Control His Zipper.

“Mrs. Clinton, God condemns lying as a horrible sin and you seem to have a graduate degree in lying. One of the Ten Commandments condemns and forbids lying. That is a command of God to the President of the U.S. or his wife the same as it is to any member of this church. Even if you are sorry for that sin, it must be confessed to our church so our youth and the general public will understand that Christians don’t talk that way, not even the President or his wife. You are not an exception.

“You were far from acting like a Christian when you empowered Bill in his role as sexual predator and even hurt, harassed, and harangued Bill’s victims. You added to their victim-hood by your defense of him and intimidation of those innocent ladies.

“Finally, Hillary, you are one of the biggest promoters of baby killing in the world. How you can sleep at night is beyond my comprehension. You must stop any promotion of abortion and do what you can to stop the slaughter of the innocent ones. Your abortion position repudiates your membership in this church and frankly in the human race.

“Now, will you pray with me as you confess your litany of sins and leave this office a forgiven sinner walking the path that millions have walked before you?

“Hillary, where are you going?”

Well, at least her pastor can be pleased that she didn’t throw a lamp at him.

Donald Trump says he is a Presbyterian although he said he attends the Marble Collegiate Church in Manhattan. He seldom attends any church as was true of Reagan. It should be mentioned that it is a sin to miss church without a good reason. In fact, churches in the seventh century put members under church discipline if they were absent from church three services in succession without cause!

Trump’s pastor should commend Trump for his success in business and politics then tell him that he must conform to Biblical teaching. “Donald, I am very glad to see you since I don’t see you in church very often. Seriously, Donald, you joined our membership and because of your high visibility, you represent us in everything you do; therefore, I must hold your feet to the fire as I do all our members.

“First of all, you are a bad example for youth when you curse and boast. Your use of hell, damn, and the like are totally unnecessary, uncivil, and unchristian. Also, a display of humility would be a good example to others.

“You also must repent of having a baby out of wedlock many years ago. It was wrong, a sin that must be repented of as an example to others. You are not above any other member of this church. Being President of the United States and leader of the free world is a temporary position but being a member of this church is spiritual in nature. You do not have a right to sleep around. You must repent and give evidence of that repentance. It will not be acceptable to say, ‘I made a mistake,’ or ‘If I have offended anyone, I’m sorry.’ No, you must admit that you broke your marriage vows, lusted after a woman, and then satisfied your lusts in an ungodly, wicked way.

“Donald, you and Melania missed our Christian Couples’ Conference last month and it would have been a great help to your marriage. And Donald, you should have attended our session, It is good for a man not to touch a woman–unless you’re married to her. You have boasted about not only touching women but grouping them. You must not give the impression that such action is acceptable. It is not and you must repent.

“Donald, you are doing great damage to families with your casinos where people go to try to get something for nothing. That is not a Christian concept. Moreover, your hotels and resorts sell booze which is forbidden in Scripture. We are warned not to provide strong drink to others. So, if you want to continue membership in this church, you must sell your casinos and stop selling booze in your hotels. Now, will you bow your head in genuine sorrow for your sins, confess those sins to God, and apologize to the church membership this Sunday night for your wicked, willful, and worldly behavior?

“Donald, where are you going?”

All right, that’s enough. I could go on and on and on. Everyone knows neither Trump nor Clinton will stand at the church altar sobbing uncontrollably–confessing sin–as did King David thousands of years ago when he cried, “Have mercy upon me, O God…blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin….Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” Heads of state are simply sinners in powerful places.

It is my opinion that many Evangelical churches are an appendage of the Republican Party, and their pastors are aging and graceless cheerleaders for the GOP. They are strong on preaching and soft on principle. Churches used to be the moral compass of America; but instead of a force to be reckoned with, they have become a farce to be ridiculed. Almost all churches fail in exercising church discipline.

Clinton and Trump’s pastors should develop spines and tell each of their famous members, “Either get right or get out.”

With that foundation, what have the churches done to convince the famous sexual predators to confess, repent, and make things right with the women they have abused? I can’t find any church pressure brought to bear on anyone for any cause.

Harvey Weinstein, Dustin Hoffman, Richard Dreyfuss, Jeremy Piven, Steven Seagal (grandfather was Jewish) Matt Laurer (father was Jewish) and Al Franken are Jews but I’ve not heard that their rabbis have called upon them to repent and weep copious tears as did King David over his affair with Bathsheba.

Ben Affleck is a “lapsed Protestant.” Tavis Smiley grew up attending a church of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World. Paul Haggis is a former member of the Scientology cult. The religious background of Charlie Rose, and others is unknown.

All religious groups have standards their members are expected to follow and that is only right for them to enforce their own standards. Outsiders can agree or disagree with those standards but have no right to seek a change in them.

Male sexual aggression against women should result in disapproval by friends and family, discharge from employment, disgrace and loss of reputation, damages in the form of money, and dismissal from a local church if repentance is not evident.

The message: there is a high cost for low living.

Sexual Accountability: A Gentle Breeze Becomes a Hurricane! https://donboys.cstnews.com/sexual-accountability-a-gentle-breeze-becomes-a-hurricane https://donboys.cstnews.com/sexual-accountability-a-gentle-breeze-becomes-a-hurricane#respond Thu, 11 Jan 2018 03:36:44 +0000 http://donboys.cstnews.com/?p=2003 A gentle breeze of sexual accountability has become a hurricane resulting in enormous destruction–some good, some bad. My concern today is that everyone be treated the same. Let’s be concerned for all abused women (or men) and equally indignant about all perpetrators. I will seek fairness and accountability for everyone–no exceptions. You say, “Anyone should agree with that” but many, in reality, do not agree, as you will discover in this column.

It is encouraging to see that sexually abused women are turning and confronting their abusers, holding them accountable. Many aggressive, abusive, and audacious men have lost lofty positions, huge sums of money, and may even go to prison. Good! There is little doubt that the women would have more credibility and chances of legal and financial redress had they complained at the time of the abuse or shortly thereafter.

Some powerful members of Congress are being metaphorically horsewhipped in public and chased out of Washington to their backwater towns where they will be humiliated and left to die a natural death. Congressman John Conyers is the first to be chased out of Washington although he characterized his long delayed, disgraceful departure as “retirement.” Yea, that’s about like Pete Rose or Lance Armstrong saying he retired. Or, maybe Richard Nixon saying he retired.

Yes, there is a wind blowing across the fruited plain that has developed into a hurricane force. It may not be a revival of morality but it is at least a return to a modicum of decency. And maybe a return to a minor witch hunt mentality about which we had better be very vigilant. We can be thankful that villagers are not rushing down the streets with pitch forks and tar and feathers in hand. Just a few resignations, pink slips, broken contracts, divorce decrees, and a renewed interest in of prenuptial contracts.

However, I will be convinced that the outrage is genuine when there is a consistency. (Nevertheless, we can be thankful for positive results whether the motives are pure or not.) Ah, yes, sweet consistency. Ralph Waldo Emerson (died 1882) foolishly and falsely declared, “A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines.” The fact is Emerson, a failed preacher but successful writer and lecturer, was wrong. He did not believe the Bible or in miracles or that Christ was God, but he was a major proponent of the transcendentalist movement.

An inconsistent person is a dishonest person.

An honest person will react the same way toward all people who are sexually abusive toward any person! So, why has no one decided that Martin Luther King, Jr. should be scorned for his sexual and physical abuse of women? Oops, did I touch a sore spot?

I have a copy of an AP article with the heading, “FBI and Abernathy Say King Was a Sex-obsessed ‘Tomcat’” following with a graphic description of King’s last night on earth. “The Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. spent parts of the night before his assassination with two women and then fought physically with a third, according to the memoirs of the Rev. Ralph David Abernathy, King’s top aide.”

The AP article condenses Abernathy’s detailed account of King’s last night on earth just after he delivered his “I have been to the Mountaintop” speech. It seems after King went to the mountaintop he and a male friend went to the home of “a friend” of King’s. Abernathy is quoted as saying that “Martin and his [female] friend” came out of the bedroom after 1 a.m. then King and his male friend returned to the Lorraine Motel where King got together with “a black woman…a member of the Kentucky Legislature” with whom King had a “close” relationship. Abernathy admitted that King did not return to the motel room (that they shared) until after 7 a.m.

King was only 12 hours from death at the hands of a white supremacist with a cheap rifle in his sweaty hands. He was shot at 6:01 p.m. and died at a Memphis hospital at 7:05 p.m.

The morning of the day of King’s death, he asked his best friend Abernathy to settle a dispute between himself and “another young woman Martin knew well” who had come looking for King earlier that night. Evidently, Abernathy was not very successful in dispute resolution because King shouted at the woman and “knocked her across the bed” according to King’s best friend.

Well, not your typical Baptist preacher! However, many people reading this will foam at the mouth for my writing this but won’t be disturbed about King’s activities!

But it gets worse, much worse!

The Assistant Director of the FBI, Charles D. Brennan wrote a letter to Senator John P. East of North Carolina in which he stated that King’s activities consisted of “orgiastic and adulterous escapades, some of which indicated that King could be bestial in his sexual abuse of women.” How can any honest feminist not condemn King’s violence and treating women like objects to be used and cast away? They will not because of a lack of character, courage, and convictions.

FBI Assistant Director William Sullivan, who was in charge of the bugging of King’s hotel rooms, said that King also had affairs with many married women. In an incident in New York City, King got drunk and asked a young female civil rights worker to satisfy his weird sexual tastes and when she refused, he threatened to jump from the skyscraper window. She changed her mind and satisfied the reverend.

Many newspapers reported on the files released by the National Archives concerning the death of President Kennedy (some files related to King): “As early as January, 1964, King engaged in another two-day drunken sex orgy in Washington, D.C. Many of those present engaged in sexual acts, natural as well as unnatural, for the entertainment of onlookers. When one of the females shied away from engaging in an unnatural act, King … discussed how she was to be taught and initiated in this respect,” the document reads.

King tried to justify his immorality by saying that everyone did it. This was reported by the London Daily Mail on January 17, 2017: “Sleeping with female members was the norm rather than the exception and King himself admitted that he didn’t know a single black preacher who was chaste.”

That was an incredible insult to every black preacher in America, including some good friends of mine.

David J. Garrow is a well-known leftist author and friendly King biographer who revealed to USA Today King’s justification for his sexual immorality: “He [King] explained it as someone on the road 27 days a month and needing sex as a form of anxiety reduction and for emotional solace.” Anxiety reduction and emotional solace are now excuses and justification for immorality!

Would any reader accept that excuse from their pastor as justification for unfaithfulness to a wife? I think not.

The only explanation for a conspiracy of silence regarding King’s use and misuse of women is an excessive, almost sick, hero worship that is normal in children but abnormal, abhorrent, and absurd in adults.

Some tell us that a Black must be able to walk on water before he can be accepted as a black leader but we don’t demand that. We do expect a leader, white or black, to be decent, fair, consistent, honest, law-abiding, and a gentleman in his interaction with women.

Let’s be thankful for this resurgence, reverence, and return of sensitivity for decency and a concern for the safety of women; but be sure we are consistent in honoring the truth without giving any person–politician, preacher, performer, or product peddler a pass for sexual abuse of anyone.

Yes, a new day has arrived for which all people should be grateful, but let’s be consistent in our concern toward the victims and our condemnation toward the villains.

Wait Until Sexual Accusations Hit the Churches! https://donboys.cstnews.com/wait-until-sexual-accusations-hit-the-churches https://donboys.cstnews.com/wait-until-sexual-accusations-hit-the-churches#respond Tue, 02 Jan 2018 00:49:47 +0000 http://donboys.cstnews.com/?p=1998 Americans have seen a sea change recently with sexually abused women coming out of their closets and identifying unscrupulous men in entertainment, journalism, sports, and a small stirring among academia. Watch for much more in that area. What will really shock people is when it reaches the Protestant and Baptist churches.

Roman Catholics experienced a major scandal in recent years that is still reverberating even behind the Vatican walls. It is commendable that the media have been willing to deal thoroughly with that issue after years of delay. It is not honest or honorable if Protestant pastors come to the defense of an erring pastor while being critical of the massive Roman Catholic sex scandal. That is pure hypocrisy, but then hypocrites are found in all races, regions, ranks, and religions.

However, the giant in the room is the non-Catholic churches that range from Adventists to Zion Christians, especially the very visible megachurches. It is my opinion that there are thousands of pastors who take advantage of church members and staff. Alas, many of the victims are young girls–and boys! No doubt, the problem extends to the evangelical seminaries and universities.

Those pastors (like Roman Catholic priests) use their position, prestige, and power over members to sexually exploit them. Of course, adult women should have screamed to high heaven at the time of the sexual abuse; but later is better than never. The problem is the accused pastors have a right to defend themselves and it is difficult to prove a negative if they are innocent–as many are. The issue is compounded because the ministry demands and denotes such high standards that a false accusation can destroy a pastor. A false accusation is why the Bible demands that a rape victim must scream and fight at the attempted rape if she is to be believed. After all, women can deceive, dissimulate, defame, and debauch just as men can.

Church members are taught that the Bible requires them to forgive their perpetrator so it would be wrong to report them to lawful officials. They are then told that if they report an abusing pastor, they will be responsible for “tearing down the ministry.” Often, the sexually abused members have been in the church for years and have been deeply involved with its growth and often they have received much help from the ministry. How could they do anything to harm a church they love?

Independent Baptists have a problem that Roman Catholics and denominations with a hierarchical ruling system don’t have. Southern Baptists have a similar problem. With Baptists, there is no bishop or pope to move an erring pastor from one church to another to smother the scandal. When a priest goes bad, he is moved from Atlanta to Anchorage and often continues his lechery. Often, the Baptist pastor stays in town, denies everything, hunkers down, and stays in the same pulpit many years. And after a few months or years following the revelation of his sins, he is accepted by his peers as if he was only guilty of speeding! The acquiescing pastors must share some of the guilt when the predator pastor strikes again against an innocent one.

The non-hierarchal way is the Bible way but it is failing in our day because of weakness and vacillation of laymen and pastors. Laymen must hold their pastors accountable, but that very seldom happens–either because of intimidation by the pastor, or love for the pastor, or a desire “not to cause a disruption of the ministry.” Not hurting the church is the excuse leaders use for not dealing with a pastor’s sexual affairs. They often say, “Let God take care of it;” however, God has told the church to take care of it. Most Baptist churches are failing at this and other matters of church discipline.

According to Christianity Today, 61% of congregations have forced a pastor to leave–often for moral turpitude. According to a doctoral thesis by a Donald Q. Hicks, a Liberty University Fellow, about 2400 pastors are fired each year in the SBC! That is from the SBC alone! That means a train wreck is about to happen, since the six SBC seminaries have only produced about 1400 graduates each year during the last ten years. Shockingly, over 15,000 pastors are fired (for various reasons) each year from all denominations according to a poll done by George Barna, the Fuller Institute, and others!

If a pastor is fired, the firing church usually does nothing to inform others that they fired a predator preacher. He is free to prey on unsuspecting communities and left free to resume other sexual conquests. All groups, even Baptists, should keep a registry of pastoral offenders to warn churches to stay away from the culprits.

Some abusive pastors go through counseling, usually by a fellow pastor across town, and after a few months, he is pronounced “rehabilitated” and free to reenter the ministry. That rehabilitation back to the pulpit should be repudiated. My friend Jerry Falwell was super gracious and kind and taught that fallen pastors could serve in a church after they had counseling. While he was right in never being alone with an unrelated woman, he was wrong about returning fallen pastors to the pulpit.

Churches are careless in choosing a pastor often without doing any checking! I have been involved in calling a few pastors and always ask them very personal questions. “Have you been married before? Have you ever been sued? How much are you in debt? Have you ever been arrested? Have you ever been accused of sexual misconduct?”

I don’t like to kick a man when he is down and I believe in loyalty to friends but when a man commits horrendous sins and presents himself as a man of God (with all that implies) then I consider him my enemy when he proves that he was not what was represented. I have opposed former friends of mine, pastors of large churches, who were guilty of sexual abuse. I have written about it and testified in the Maryland Legislature on sexual abuse by Baptist pastors.

It is time to recognize that there is a “good ole boy” network in church circles where our “heroes” are protected by their peers. After all, we don’t want to appear to be self-righteous or judgmental or unkind or whatever. So we who claim to believe, follow, and preach the Bible have become unbiblical! We are more loyal to sinners than to the Savior!

That great host of Independent Baptist and Southern Baptist pastors who live godly lives are harmed by those who think being a pastor means they can get away with any kind of sin and “work” really hard for God to balance it all out. However doing a great amount of good never negates the evil.

One famous Independent Baptist pastor (himself later charged with indiscretions and adultery) said, “If I walked into [a famous Baptist pastor’s] office and saw him on the floor on top of his secretary, I would assume he was doing mouth to mouth resuscitation, not sinful activity.” That sounds so gracious but it is cultic in thinking, if not in theology.

Laymen who refuse to pursue charges brought against a pastor must accept some responsibility for that pastor’s future indiscretions. Some laymen have been taught that they should not do so. It is supposed to be disloyal to ask a pastor to explain accusations against him! It is time for Christian men to act like men and fulfill their responsibilities as board members and get the facts. If a pastor is guilty, report him to authorities if that is required, then seek to help him and help him find another occupation. He has lost his right to be in the pulpit.

Some suggestions to stop or hinder sexual abuse and false accusations:

All pastors should demand they be held accountable by their church officers. Baptist pastors are super shy about this since the Bible teaches pastoral authority; however, it does not teach dictatorship or unaccountability. I have known pastors who consider any questions as a personal attack. That borders on cultic.

Everyone must realize that preachers are simply humans who are ordained. There are all kinds: highly educated, poorly educated, gracious, grumpy, greedy, generous, all prone to the same failures, foibles, and faults of others. Respect them if they deserve it and flee from them as if your hair were on fire if they are cultic.

No accusation against a pastor should be believed until it is proved beyond a doubt, but all accusations must be investigated. Laymen must deal with charges against a pastor and biblical injunctions must be followed. No pastor is above the law–of God or man.

A pastor should not be in a room with a girl or woman without an open door. It is amazing that this is controversial. It is common sense that even the secular world is starting to recognize! It is not that women are aggressive and not to be trusted; it is that no one is beyond temptation. Furthermore, no one is safe from false accusations.

Offices of pastors and staff should have glass doors or windows so that the office areas are visible. That would eliminate most false accusations.

There are scores of preachers in prison for sex crimes as I write. How many other pastors will join them this year?
