What do the homosexuals want? They want compliance with their irrational, irresponsible, and immoral demands: Everyone must march to their tune even if the music and the march are obnoxious.

Pastor Justin Hoke, spiritual leader of Trinity Bible Presbyterian Church in Weed, California, is standing in the unemployment line after he declared on his church sign on December 3, “Bruce Jenner is still a man. Homosexuality is still a sin. The culture may change. The Bible does not.” The sign said it all. It could not be more factual and the fact that it is true does not mean it is hateful. Truth is not hate, maybe uncomfortable but not hateful. But the LGBTQ activists came down hard on the pastor and even some of his church leaders refused to stand with him.

All radical leftists talk about tolerance, fairness, equal rights, freedom of expression, freedom of religion but that is only applicable if everyone drinks the purple Kool Aid by accepting their radical agenda. Are all radical leftists hypocrites or are all hypocrites radical leftists?

What in the world do homosexuals really want? They want acceptance even respectability and no criticism. It seems they want special treatment, not equal rights; and their death rate indicates they will receive “rites,” not rights if they continue on a dead-end street. More than 60% of America’s AIDS cases and over 50% of syphilis cases (and other STDs) come from the homosexual crowd. Moreover, the stats indicate that they live twenty-four years fewer than normal people because of some of the dumb, dangerous, and deadly things they do.

Homosexuality is wrong today, was wrong yesterday, and will be wrong tomorrow no matter what any court or authority might decide. However, stating that fact can be dangerous for its advocate.

Author George Orwell wrote, “In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.” And it seems that is where we are today. The exertions of academia, media, Hollywood, congress, and the courts have accomplished a remarkable feat: incredibly, they have transformed our nation in twenty-five years by being disingenuous, deceptive, and dishonest. The permissive crowd has convinced most people to believe right is now wrong and wrong is now right. Decent living is now considered unnecessary and perversion is no longer repugnant, reprehensible, and repulsive, but is thought (by non-thinkers) to be courageous, even commendable.

It seems “we have come a long way baby,” in recent few years but we’ve gone in the wrong direction. Many stalwart Americans are standing athwart the gasping, heaving body of American culture saying, “You are wrong. Perversion is immoral and it will destroy those who practice it and it will destroy this nation.” Our lives should be directed by good judgment, common sense, and God’s commandments.

Same-sex “marriage” zealots tell us that such “marriages” are a matter of fairness but it is a matter of right and wrong. Same-sex “marriages” are also an oxymoron. They talk of “marriage” but two people of the same gender yoking is not marriage and saying so does not make it so. If every court in America and every politician says same-sex “marriage” is normal and desirable, it is still not so. A falsehood is still a falsehood if everyone affirms it and the truth is still the truth if everyone rejects it!

The cousin of Chief Justice Roberts who is an admitted lesbian declared that homosexuality should be legal because “society is becoming more accepting of the humanity of same-sex couples and the simple truth that we deserve to be treated with dignity, respect and equality under the law.” Must I lecture Chief Justice Roberts’ cousin that right and wrong are not decided by society’s constantly changing values—or by any court? It should be remembered that some cultures slaughtered children while others ate their enemies. In other ancient cultures, children were sacrificed to pagan gods. My comparison is not accidental. Homosexuality has always been considered an unspeakable crime against nature and against a holy God!

It is inconceivable that homosexuals, with a straight face, demand respect and recognition and reception of their lifestyle! Informed people are mindful that they do extremely disgusting, dangerous, and deadly things. And they demand respect. What chutzpah! Or as the British say, “What cheek.” But, it seems homosexuals are without shame.

I introduced a bill in the Indiana House of Representatives in 1977 to restore sodomy as a felony as it had been since Indiana became a state. My opposition came out of the arts, universities, and closets to protest my bill. A professor from Indiana University irrationally characterized the biblical characters David and Jonathan as lovers and stated that homosexuals only want to be left alone. He ranted that the new law would be tyrannical and repressive; however, what it would have done is restrict homosexuals from cruising in the parks and having abnormal sex with strangers in public bathrooms, among other things. It would also have made some university professors unlawful, uncomfortable, and unemployed.

I informed him and my fellow committee members that homosexuals did not just want to be left alone but they wanted the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval on their immoral actions. I said, “They want the public to accept and respect their lifestyle but that will not happen as long as sincere, dedicated, and informed Christians are still alive.”

I also abhor the tidal wave of fornication that has deluged America but at least fornication is not aberrant or abnormal. Homosexual activists have hijacked our culture. I was wrong in my prediction. Many Christian leaders have caved to the LGBTQ under the cover of “love.” It’s really palpable cowardice.

All principled people have always realized that truth always trumps love.

Many Evangelicals have raised the white flag in this battle as they refuse to stand on biblical truth and they use reason to commit treason against Christ. The cowards, compromisers, and charlatans speak of “love” while they strangle unpleasant truth. And even if we in opposition are filled with hate, it is better to have truth in hate than error in love.

Besides, unpleasant, uncomfortable, and unpopular truth is not always hate speech.

Homegrown barbarians have taken control of most of America while Americans, including Christians, only yawned with maybe a shake of the head in disgust. Few are awake, and fewer are aware, and very few are alarmed at the danger.

Barbarian originally meant “all that are not Greek,” but was especially applied to the Medes and Persians. The Romans technically were barbarians but took the word and applied it to tribes or nations which had no Greek or Roman accomplishments. From the 1600s, came the meaning “rude, wild person.” Whatever the precise definition, the major spheres of American society are controlled by barbarians.

Look at the entertainment industry–well, you are probably looking at it too much! The very people who are known as the beautiful people are the most crude, rude, and lewd people in America. Moreover, many of our youth idolize them; hence, they copy the language, the dress, the actions, the mannerisms of a lost generation. Major “stars” are unable to communicate without using the foulest of language and gestures. Even then, they are so stupid they have to use cue cards to express their vitriol.

Professional athletics, that used to be a noble pastime, has turned into a world of jerks, dummies, rapists, child abusers, wife beaters, drunks, drug addicts, thieves, thugs, and general lowlifes. Yet, most Christian men are more excited with sports than they are with the Scriptures. Many parents permit their children to emulate the “stars” and athletes, even permitting posters of offensive poses on bedroom walls. Not in my home, no matter the age of my child!

Then there are the barbarians who run the public school systems. Schools should be places of mores, manners, mastering, and mentoring but have been hijacked and are expensive nut factories. A teacher’s job seems to be as secure as a Baptist’s eternal security! We almost force all high school graduates (who read on a seventh grade level) into expensive colleges where they are indoctrinated by druggies of the 60s and 70s.

The political system has been taken over by uncouth barbarians in button down shirts, $1200.00 suits, and $500.00 Gucci shoes. Most of the state and national politicians can’t even spell principle, let alone practice it. If informed Christians voted for principle then high-minded people would serve in office. What this country needs are more unemployed politicians. Principled voters can accomplish that.

It is time to take America back and restore the values that made us great and we do that by removing the barbarians and returning to a semblance of biblical living. When nation and faith are in conflict, American Christians often modify their faith rather than confront their country. I refuse to modify (i.e., adapt, adjust, alter, or amend) biblical truth.

Churches are where one should expect culture, character, and courage to prevail; however, church leaders in all denominations are only a step above the crude, cursing, carousing barbarians of yesteryear. They have abandoned the high ground of the Bible for the slime pits of a mushy evangelicalism or outright unbelief. Rebellious Jews worshipped the golden calf and we worship the gold of the calf. In forgetting, forsaking, and fighting God, America has sunk to where anything is acceptable.

Permissiveness has spread across America and the world like a malignant cancer leaving in its wake blasted lives, broken hearts, and blighted bodies. We tolerate all kinds of immorality fearful that we may appear to be bigoted; however, toleration of sexual immorality is the first stage of decadence. As a nation, we have already been to Sodom–and are now skipping through Gomorrah.

Christians have a long way to go before we can win back our culture and curtail the barbarians and their deleterious influence, but we’ll never get there if all we do is insist that we have a right to our opinions. Yes, we have a right to them. But, more importantly, we’re right about them. That’s the real message we should be shouting from the housetops. We must not be intimidated by the bullies, blackmailers, and barbarians on the left. We are right and we have a right, even an obligation, to forcefully state the truth and insist what we are saying is, in fact, the truth. That is not “forcing our opinions down the throats of others.”

At the rate America is decaying morally, we’ll have to change our national symbol from eagle to buzzard. It is cultural and moral suicide to attempt to make immorality acceptable and normal, and our posterity will look back in shock at our madness and cowardice.

One main problem in recent years is that too many young Blacks (and Whites) have chosen low-life druggies, entertainers, athletes, and communists as people to emulate. All people should look up to those Blacks who are great examples who inspire hard work, principled living, decency, and family. Of course, the graduates should be confident in their heritage and blackness.

Do I have the right to feel the same way about my heritage? If I had spoken to a predominantly white audience and said the same thing using “white” where Obama used “black,” the race- baiters of MSNBC, CNN, etc., would have demanded my head. Why won’t white and black opinion-makers agree that such a statement would be acceptable? Surely, they know that White people have many examples of courage, character, and convictions. All sane, honest people know that is true, but it is an “inconvenient truth.” And it makes the leftist haters uncomfortable.

However, I insist on balance, consistency, and fairness. If any Black or Hispanic can be proud of his or her heritage, so can I as a White. Frankly, there has not been much emphasis placed on white accomplishments in recent years. And please remember that we would not be here if it weren’t for white people! I didn’t write that to antagonize black racists but because it is the truth.

Blacks, Indians, Latin Americans, Arabs, etc., should be proud of their race, after all God made them that way. So would you mind if I believe that Whites should feel the same about being white? Would the racists out there forgive me for pointing out that white Christians (along with some scoundrels) came to this continent and discovered a land of forests, swamps, and tribes of warring Indians? There were no roads, no businesses, no churches, no hospitals, and no factories.

Our ancestors drained the swamps, built log cabins and churches, planted crops, dug copper, coal, gold, and silver from the ground, built railroads, communication systems, attempted to civilize the warring Indians (and made friends of the friendly Indians) and established a land of freedom and incredible opportunity like nowhere on earth. My critics will point out the mistakes and excesses which I am willing to admit; but I will add the many failures of the Indians and others, all proving mankind’s fallen nature. Yes, Blacks made a contribution to our success and their enslavement is a source of embarrassment to all honest people. However, that does not mean I share any guilt for wrongs done to Blacks in the past since I had nothing to do with it. I admit to being embarrassed what some Whites (and some Blacks) did during the U.S. period of slavery but I harbor no guilt.

Moreover, I will point out that for thousands of years nothing had been done to develop the land, forests, rivers, and mining opportunities. Indians lived as they had for more than a thousand years, sitting around their campfires while their children and elderly died unnecessary and often early deaths.

Whites have had their share of scoundrels but generally have made an incredible contribution to civilization often having to fight the system to accomplish that task, as have others.

Many think the Nobel Prize is a worthy measure of success. Since 1901, the prize has been awarded to over 850 persons in Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, (the four major disciplines) plus Literature, and Peace. Economics was added in 1969. Over 20% of the total prizes have been awarded to Jews who make up only .2% of the world’s population! Although I’m not a Jew, I don’t denigrate them for their sterling accomplishments. I simply can’t explain why so many Jews have made such an incredible contribution to civilization.

Muslims make up over 23% of the world’s population; and they have won twelve Nobel Prizes as of 2015! Seven of the twelve winners have received the Nobel Peace Prize, not in one of the major disciplines. Note again that Jews make up only .2% of the world’s population and Muslims make up 23%! I’m not sure what that means but it is a shocking difference.

Blacks have been the recipients of 16 Nobel Prizes; twelve were for the peace prize. One was in economics to a man from India; the other three were for literature. None in the major disciplines.

The more astute readers quickly noticed that the Blacks and Muslims won the Peace prize (which can mean anything) or in literature. The Peace prize was given to the Muslim terrorist Yasser Arafat and the American President Barrack Obama! All thinking people still gag over those awards.

Some will play the slave card as an excuse. After all, it works for almost everything else. Some will say that it was the American educational system that hindered Black achievement. However, we are speaking of Blacks worldwide.

Others will say correctly that the Nobel Prize is not the only criterion. All races have contributed to our civilization, our culture, and our country but Blacks have not done so proportionate with their numbers. Most people confuse civilization and culture and while there is some overlapping, they are distinct. Civilization has to do with economics, political philosophy, religion, architecture, etc., while culture has to with our habits, music, entertainment, food, sports, fashion, etc. Blacks have made an indelible mark on our culture (for good and bad) and have had some degree of impact on our civilization. That is for the experts to analyze.

I have no desire to be identified with white supremacists and I hope my critics would not want to be identified with black supremacists. A supremacist is one who makes everything a racial matter. Any plight on their race is because of the other race. These are little people who refuse to face the truth, make some necessary decisions, and become productive people for all races.

I choose to exercise my right to be proud of my heritage, even my whiteness. After all, God gave it to me. Nothing for me to boast about or be ashamed of.

Yea, I know I will be accused of being a racist for telling the truth; but One greater than I said that Truth will set you free. However, it often stings as well.

The Bible word whore or prostitute are unpleasant words but they describe reality. Moreover, it is interesting that people are more offended at me using the “s” word than those who take off their clothes for the camera! I know some screaming females do not like the word but then many of them are the reason the word is used!

I would never complain about someone’s standards being too high! Since I became a Christian as a teen, I have never used obscene language. I try, but not always successfully, to not use words such as heck, darn, golly, etc., since they are substitute oaths. Words like crap, fart, screw, etc., have never been part of my vocabulary–never. And my wife and four grown children can attest to that. I used them here for the first time! In fact, I have never heard my children speak that way and would be shocked if they did. So, I have always taken the position that I’d rather be charged with prudery than profanity.

I thought that the editor may be right about the present-day use of slut because I am out of touch with the culture: movies, music, and television. I have used pussyfooting all my life describing people who refuse to take a stand on difficult issues but my wife told me recently that a portion of the word is now considered obscene–she didn’t tell me which part! I don’t suppose I have to use that word but I resent others controlling my speaking or writing. Of course, editors have every right to set their own standards of material submitted to them.

I’ll get back to slut in a minute but let me digress down a more debatable, divisive, and dangerous trail.

The word nigger is an offensive word but hardly obscene yet almost everyone refuses to use it even in a correct way–except Blacks who seem to have a special privilege–maybe black privilege! Now that is obscene to me. I resent the double standard and the refusal of people to take on the apostles of political correctness. No doubt there are many conservatives who agree with me but don’t think it is worth the battle. After all a dog can whip a skunk but is it worth the fight?

Again, my family has never heard me call anyone a nigger. I refuse to speak that way because it would be offensive to the object of my scorn and to those who hear me speak. However, it is silly for anyone to be offended when I say, “The word nigger is an acceptable word when used the right way.” Or when I say or write “It is immature, illogical, and inane for anyone to get angry when I use nigger in a way that is not projected toward an individual.” Or when I say, “If a Black can use nigger wrongly then I can use the word nigger rightly.” And I demand my critics tell me why not.

Now, I must be practical and thoughtful of others. I was a guest on a national talk show about a year ago and the discussion turned to word usage and political correctness. The host is a dear friend and I have been a guest on his show about forty times! I would never do anything to cause him harm; but I did so without knowing it. We got on the word nigger and I made my pitch for the fact it was illogical to not use the word because many Blacks (who often use the word in a derogatory way) might be offended.

It caused him trouble with his network or sponsors (although he never reproached me for my blunder) and I was very distressed that I was so thoughtless. I got “caught up in the moment” and forgot that others were involved. I am not concerned about money or whether people like and accept me, nor how much coverage my column gets; but others were involved and I should have been thoughtful. I have learned from that mistake. I have been on his show three or four times since that episode. In fact, last week.

With my columns it is a different matter. Each column goes through a “gatekeeper” as to whether or not it will be published. I try to make people think about issues that others usually don’t deal with. I do so from my perspective of a born-again Christian although I never try to force my position on others although I am often accused of that. It is easier to yell and curse me (or anyone) rather than present a cogent reason for disagreement.

Now, as to the word slut. The offended editor told me that it is an “extremely unacceptable word of profanity,” but I disagree. I think the word is considered offensive by sluts of America and my editor has been influenced by them. The dictionaries clearly define it as a disparaging and offensive term meaning “a sexually promiscuous woman, or a woman who behaves or dresses in an overtly sexual way.” A secondary definition is “a person with a seemingly insatiable but often undiscerning desire to do or have something specified: guilty of being a shoe slut; a book slut, reading five books at once.” That was news to me. Furthermore, the archaic definition is “a prostitute; harlot. An immoral or dissolute woman. Or a dirty, slovenly woman.” In the mid-fifteenth century a slut was “a kitchen maid, a drudge.”

Random House suggests “Some feminists have reclaimed the word slut and use it to mean a sexually liberated woman,” making it a very positive word!

I studied English Literature at Marshall University and was severely challenged yet delighted at Chaucer’s use of English for his Canterbury Tales and other works instead of the normal use of French or Latin for literature. He used “sluttish” in reference to the appearance of an untidy man. So, I suppose a man can also be a slut.

So, I will continue to use slut appropriately when applying to people who expose their bodies to any person except their spouses–for whatever reason.

And I won’t be offended toward those who disagree and refuse to publish my column.

I have problems with much of American culture–movies, television, music, etc.; however, America is still the best place in the world. Our culture has degenerated for many years and it is only reasonable to attempt to slow its decline. Illegal and poorly managed legal immigration has had, is having, and will have a divisive, debilitating, and destructive influence on America.

We have observed environmental fanatics, in collusion with the Federal government, going to outrageous efforts to preserve polar bears, killer whales, snail darters, spotted owls, and yellow belly sap suckers; so is it unreasonable to preserve America as the land of the free and the home of the brave? Why is it commendable for Blacks, Hispanics, Muslims, and others to loudly proclaim their ethnicity and boast of past achievements, but when a white Christian does so, everyone treats him like a bigot?

My being proud of being a white Christian does not reflect badly on those who don’t fit that description, and my love for my wife and family and my considering them the best does no harm and is no criticism of others who don’t agree. Just because you think your wife is more beautiful than mine and your children and grandchildren are the brightest and most loveable does not make you a bigot. You are simply wrong, since mine are! I have their test scores and photos to prove it! Most sane people would agree that that attitude is completely normal. It would be abnormal if that were not true.

Last night I saw video of a young Martin Luther King Jr. declare, “I am proud to be black. Black is beautiful. Someone needs to say it.” That was fantastic but why was it right for him to say it about being black but wrong for me to say the same thing about being white? I will expect an answer from my critics.

Non-thinkers/racists/liberals reveal their racism by calling me a racist! That’s like a skunk accusing a rabbit of having bad breath! Not too swift but no one says racists/liberals are very sharp or honest people. They are fanatics and totally committed to their radical agenda.

This is an issue that no one wants to deal with–the proverbial elephant sitting in a formal living room that everyone pretends isn’t there! Of course, I don’t want to be identified with the white supremacist crowd or the clowns of the KKK because they are obvious haters. I do think it is not only right but also desirable to be proud of our heritage–whatever our heritage. Mine happens to be white Christian.

Sure there are times when we are embarrassed with what white people have done and are doing, but that would be true of every group. Does affirming that fact make me a racist? Overall, white people have contributed enormously to make the world a better place–yes, even Christianized white people, that is, people who were not Christians but who were influenced by the Bible.

The desire to keep our nation historically American with our language, customs, values, religion, etc., is admirable and nothing to be ashamed of. Why should we want a major shift in the racial ratio, language, customs, and religion? The desire for keeping America in its present state is a reason to be skeptical of mass immigration. Of course, there is no question regarding illegal immigration although non-thinking liberals usually try to justify such criminal activity.

Moreover, it is not racist but realistic to declare that accepting immigrants from most European nations would have less negative impact on America than immigrants from non-white and non-English speaking nations. Now, if my critics will stop screaming incoherently and try to stop the knee jerking (left one, of course) they will be forced to admit the statement is true. My motives can be legitimately questioned but the accuracy of the statement cannot be.

If potential immigrants have never used an indoor toilet; or never driven an automobile; teach that women are inferior to men; believe in multiple wives; think it is normal to behead a “loved one” for being raped; think it acceptable to mutilate baby girls; have no experience with freedom and no desire to be taught such; are committed to sharia law not American law; believe that death is acceptable for one who leaves “the only true religion”; have no money, skills, or desire to attain them; then only a fool would suggest they can be absorbed in American life as easily as people from European nations. Why welcome such people knowing what it will do to our nation?

Any who disagree with the above should take a trip to Dearborn, Michigan as soon as possible. Seeing is believing–except to the willfully blind.

Legal immigration should be halted for a few years although I think exceptions should be made for those Americans who marry foreigners. In addition to temporarily ending immigration we should raise our standards requiring all new citizens to recite the Preamble to the Constitution and whistle “This Land is Your Land, This Land is my Land” at the same time! Well, maybe not quite that extreme, but almost!

Stop all legal immigration now; build the wall and penalize any US business that hires an illegal alien; fine and deport all foreigners who overstay their visas; and demand that Muslim nations absorb the “refugees” fleeing from other Muslim nations.

Hey, if unlimited immigration is good, then let European and Muslim nations take in the immigrants who are “yearning to breathe free….” If it is noble, kind, and compassionate to take in an unlimited number of foreigners, then let the other advanced nations get the “blessings” of immigration. Furthermore, if Muslims are offended when I sing patriotic songs, fly the American flag, and pray to Christ, then tough luck. This is a big world so they can find somewhere else to live. There is plenty of empty space on the Arabian Desert!

If America continues to permit massive legal and illegal immigration we will eventually become a banana republic—without bananas and without a republic!

Genuine Fundamentalists are clean, caring, and committed Christians living according to the New Testament, worshiping in simple, relatively inexpensive buildings (or homes), and a few megachurches. Like early Christians, Bible-believers today generally eschew liturgy, human doctrines, vestments, and repetitive and meaningless gestures. They seek to reach others; but, at the same time, cautioning, contending, and confronting laymen and leaders who are too much involved in this world’s affairs. They are what the early Christians were and are willing to experience poverty, prison and persecution for the truth. Most of today’s Christianettes seek prosperity, preference, and popularity.

Even infidel theologians such as the late Kirsopp Lake, Professor Ecclesiastical History at Harvard Divinity School and author of the five-volume The Beginnings of Christianity, affirmed that Fundamentalism is original Christianity! He made an incredible statement that should shake mainline churches to their foundations: “It is a mistake, often made by educated persons who happen to have but little knowledge of historical theology, to suppose that Fundamentalism is a new and strange form of thought. It is nothing of the kind: it is the…survival of a theology which was once universally held by all Christians.” Lake added, “The Fundamentalist may be wrong; I think that he is. But it is we who have departed from the tradition, not he, and I am sorry for the fate of anyone who tries to argue with a Fundamentalist on the basis of authority.” He added that the Bible is on the Fundamentalist side. Remember, he was an expert on the New Testament and ecclesiastical history! Moreover, he agrees with me!

So today’s New Testament churches (that includes some Evangelicals) are original Christianity and should be making an impact on our culture as the early churches did, but the fact is our success is limited because the culture is driving us! Our churches are not the master or the servant of the state but are to be the conscience of the state and society. We must be the state’s critic but not its tool.

Most American and Canadian pastors are silent and most churches could close their doors without anyone noticing since they have become little, irrelevant, homogeneous groups that have monthly pitch-in dinners and weekly hot chocolate huddles in church basements. Maybe a revival meeting each year. Few preachers actually confront society with the Gospel and with Bible truths. That means America’s mess can be attributed directly to our pulpits!

Fact: if a preacher is not contending, he is not a true preacher of God. The truth is that every Fundamentalist is a fighting Fundamentalist. Not fighting everyone, not fighting all the time, and never being mean, but fighting by counseling, cautioning, confronting, and combating political, religious, social, and business leaders while also presenting the claims of Christ to them. We must be scriptural, sincere, strong, and never silent.

Many preachers are telling us that modern Christians are not to contend for the faith as the old timers did; after all, it isn’t cool and drives people away from the church. But then, people should be driven away from many churches! Such critics think they are obeying the Bible but they are not. Compromisers were wrong yesterday, are wrong today, and will be wrong tomorrow and will finally be convinced of it in eternity. These New Evangelicals and Very Mushy Fundamentalists (VMF) have digressed and departed and deserted Bible Christianity. True Fundamentalists (or if you prefer, New Testament Christians) stand where genuine Christians have always stood: upon the inspired, infallible, indispensable Word of God. The corollary is to obey New Testament instructions which involves contending, rebuking, and coming out from among them. But doing so according to Eph. 4:15: “Speaking the truth in love.”

The woods are full of Evangelicals or conservatives, even Fundamentalists, who desire peace above purity and unity over truth. They are willing to tolerate apostasy, not confronting others for their heresy, and are therefore not original Christians! The Bible commands us to “shun” some (II Tim. 2:16); and to “turn away” from others (II Tim. 3:5); then “mark them . . .[in order to] avoid” those who are not doctrinally correct (Rom. 16:17); furthermore, those who do not hold to the doctrine of Christ are not to be received “into your house neither bid them God speed” (II John 10). We are even told to not be involved with and to separate from Christians who walk in disobedience. (II Thess. 3:6.) Finally, we are to “come out from among” compromisers and evil doers (II Cor. 6:17); but that requires all who are members of an unbiblical church or denomination to leave. That means leaving family and friends and joining a fellowship that teaches truth.

The departure from Bible Christianity started at the very beginning of the church age and accelerated into the Middle Ages; however, it exploded during the 1900s until today. The major catalyst for this was the National Association of Evangelicals who were embarrassed to be associated with Fundamentalists. The loosey-goosey NAE wanted to present a soft, sophisticated, and scholarly persona to the world and they had eight complaints against Fundamentalists which were listed in Christian Life Magazine, March, 1956. There was a tinge of truth to some of their complaints but only a tinge. For example, no one could be against true scholarship; however, radical scholarship is really radical unbelief in amateurish disguise.

Get your barf bag ready. Each one is as dangerous as a landmine in a schoolyard: 1) a friendly attitude toward science; 2) a willingness to re-examine beliefs concerning the work of the Holy Spirit; 3) a more tolerant attitude toward varying views on eschatology; 4) a shift away from so-called extreme dispensationalism; 5) an increased emphasis on scholarship; 6) a more definite recognition of social responsibility; 7) a re-opening of the subject of biblical inspiration; and 8) a growing willingness of evangelical theologians to converse with liberal theologians. Ahh yes, converse but never confront.

Each of the eight screams compromise, collusion, corruption, and capitulation. The Evangelicals pulled away from the Fundamentalists which would not have a tragedy but they got a makeover strangely resembling the unbelieving modernists! The Evangelicals’ indulgent, irrelevant, implausible, and inaccurate preaching further added to their error.

Like insecure teens looking for approval, the renovated Christian leaders abandoned the high ground of the Bible for the slime pits of a mushy Evangelicalism. Mushy Fundamentalists march more slowly than the Evangelicals but they march in the same direction and eventually arrive at the same destination: compromise, collusion, corruption, and capitulation.

Too much preaching nowadays pats the back and tickles the ear, but does not get under the skin. There is no conviction and therefore no conversion. I am thinking not only of the ministry of reproof and rebuke but also of the message of inspiration, of encouragement, and of comfort. People leave church at noon with their depths unstirred, their hearts untouched, and their consciences unpricked. They leave church licking on a stone rather than chewing on bread.

Church goers need to hear from Heaven; instead they often hear from a denominational bureaucrat or warmed-over sermons from Rick Warren or Bill Hybels.

The further churches drift away from biblical truth, the more the hatred is dumped upon those who expose the drift away from original Christianity.

The word “boycott” came from an 1873 incident in Ireland when retired British army captain Charles Boycott became agent for a large estate in Ireland. It was bad timing because the farmers were being gouged with low wages and high taxes. They had formed the Land League to seek relief from their financial burdens but received no help from the new agent. Boycott refused to lower land rents causing the residents and farmers to refuse to speak to him, provide him laundry service, sell him supplies, or work his fields. Even his mail carrier threatened him. The ploy spread across Ireland and newspapers referred to the tactic by his last name: boycott.

A boycott is usually considered threatening to a business so can any Christian legitimately participate in such action that results in that kind of pressure? One must first prove to himself whether a boycott amounts to force and if it is to be allowed. Most people realize that if they don’t go to work tomorrow, they will be fired or at least not be paid. That is a mild form of force; however, it is legitimate. It is not wrong for your employer to tell you that you will be fired if you do it again.

In a commercial exchange, the buyer is almost always in control. He decides whether he will purchase the item or service and how much he is willing to pay for it. That is coercion or pressure.

Not only are Christians to prod people to do right, we are to pressure them when they do wrong. Furthermore, no lucid individual says it is wrong for a person to be selective in the spending of his own money. If he does not like the business owner, does not like the service, or the excessive charges, etc., he can choose to spend his money elsewhere. So, why is that perfectly legitimate if done by one person but wrong if multiple people do the same thing?

Christians are commanded to be salt and light in this world. The function of salt is largely negative since it prevents decay while the function of light is positive. Light always, without exception, drives away the darkness. Christians are failing this generation by not being the preserving salt and the prevailing light. Consequently, Americans are asking, “Where am I going in this hand basket?” I think we know America’s destination.

If Christians are silent, where will the pressure to do right come from? Some tell us that boycotts are ineffective and when they fail, it only makes us look foolish. Well, I’d rather be perceived as a fool and a failure rather than a follower of the wrong side of this cultural war. Christians have a responsibility to live their daily lives so that those around them will know they do not support evil causes. We are at war and except for the final outcome, no one is guaranteed to be on the winning side of every battle. One thing for sure, I don’t want to be on the sinning side! Wars must be fought even if they are not won; moreover, there have been some very successful boycotts by pro-family groups.

It is declared that we cannot know the position of every business firm so it is impossible to be consistent. That is true but it is a senseless argument. If I am uninformed about a firm’s position on homosexuality, abortion, etc., then it must not be a big problem and a boycott is unnecessary; however when we know a firm is pro-homosexual then we must react.

As a Christian, everything I have belongs to God. I am a steward of all I possess and will one day give an account to God of how I used His resources. If the cultural wars are won by the permissive crowd it will change America forever. It will mean the killing of more innocent babies. It will mean general acceptance of immoral behavior that will destroy lives, damage our healthcare system, and deny Christians the right to express their faith in the market place. I refuse to leave such a society to my grandchildren without taking a stand–even if I fail.

We live in a society that refuses to recognize right from wrong, but with the ancillary that we have an obligation to choose the right and oppose the wrong. However, opponents tell us that right and wrong cannot be established but are arbitrary. To those people the Bible is not a guide for human behavior. After all, it condemns the lifestyles of most people; so shallow people think by not believing the Bible, they are free from its condemnation. The message from the media and many weaklings in the clergy is that God is dead, morality is irrelevant, and perversion is in everyone’s future. So, why fight it? I choose to fight.
We who are committed to STOP will do our best to encourage pro-family firms by telling our friends about them and spending our money at their businesses. At the same time we will boycott anti-family (usually pro-homosexual) firms and tell our friends about it. That is the Christian thing to do.
So, no Coke and Girl Scout cookies, and I hope you will do the same. Anyway, that kind of stuff might send you to Heaven quicker than your scheduled departure!

Many loosey-goosey Evangelical preachers teach that Christians should be deeply involved with the culture: sing all the popular songs, attend all the vile Hollywood movies, watch the most popular television shows, wear the newest clothes (however seductive, ugly, and revealing they may be), and be able to “jive” with the most ungodly people even if normal listeners have no comprehension of what is said.

However, that is not the way it is supposed to be. Christians are not to be moved by the culture; they are to move the culture. That is not happening today. Professing Christians, even members of Bible-preaching churches, are among the most worldly, weird, even wicked people in town! Most show no shame at their ungodly life and even defend it!

The prophet asked in Jeremiah 6:15, “Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush.” As years have passed, I have been surprised then shocked and stunned at what I have observed in good churches: the general worldly attitude, the aping of the world’s dress standards, the use of four letter words, the loose handling of the opposite sex even in public. I wonder if parents have tried to instill in their children any kind of character. When reproved, they usually are offended and hardly ever are ashamed. Is shame passé like guilt, gratitude, and grace?

Those who declare that “It’s always been this way” are wrong. While there have always been some people without character, it has not been general until recent years. Early Christians influenced society by treating slaves, children, and women compassionately. Christians picked up abandoned babies left on the street to die and raised them as their own even when it was illegal to do so! Christ placed women on a high pedestal and Paul continued to move the culture of his day. The early Christians “turned the world upside down!” Pagan religions had the Empire by the throat and Christians broke that hold and destroyed the pagan religions with the truth. Christ’s birth even designates the date.

Christ established the Good Samaritan ethic to sacrifice so as to help others who were suffering. He also told us to treat others the way we want to be treated. He taught His followers to be gracious and generous to the less fortunate. Moreover, He taught us to pray for our enemies and do good to those who despitefully use us. Such teachings changed the culture and set the tone for two thousand years. The emphasis on doing one’s best, striving for success, developed into the university system of the Middle Ages; and the major left leaning, anti-Christian, socialist, anything-goes American universities were begun by the sacrificial giving of Bible believing Christians. Such institutions today are without shame, spirituality, and little scholarship.

High standards of justice going back to the Old Testament and continuing into the New were unknown in Egypt, Ur, Nineveh, Greece, and Rome. Our world has been influenced far more by Jerusalem than Rome or Athens. But today the influence is Hollywood, New York, and Paris. Few Christians choose to be numbered as a “peculiar” people so they are just odd instead.

Jim Daly of Focus on the Family told the media it would be “foolhardy not to recognize that the culture is moving more” in the direction of support for same-sex marriage. He also signaled a willingness to work with abortion-rights groups to find common ground on adoption. Such is the successor of Dr. James Dodson who was forced out of Focus for being too confrontational with the culture. Daly doesn’t understand that Christians are supposed to challenge, confront, and change the culture!

Recently the head of Exodus International apologized for his stand against homosexuality and their attempt to help sodomites become normal, decent people. He and his board closed down their work and faded into the corrupt culture. One reason given for the shutdown is that the culture is changing. Sure it is because of people like him who have no anchor and no chart to guide them.
Most Christians are mental zombies gorging junk food in front of a television set. Seeking liberty, such carnal Christians bounce from liberty to license to licentiousness.

H. L. Hastings, in 1844, visited the Fiji Islands and was shocked to find that a human could be bought for $7.00 (or a musket), less than the price of a cow! Moreover, the purchased human could be beaten, worked to death then eaten. Then, the Gospel came to the islands and about 1200 churches were established and no human could be bought for any price. The true Gospel changes the culture.

During World War II, on a remote Pacific island, an American soldier met an English-speaking native carrying a Bible. The G.I. pointed to the Bible and sneered, “We educated people don’t put much faith in that Book anymore.” The islander grinned, patted his own belly saying, “Well, it’s a good thing for you that we do, or else you’d be in here by now.” Christ changes the culture but modern Christians have been moved by the culture into a corrupt, cowardly, compromising life.

Christians should not only be right when the world is right but be right when the world is wrong.
We don’t want or need a church that moves with the world but a church that moves the world. There is movement today but movement is not always progress. All movement seems to be in the wrong direction. At least, in the USA.

George Orwell wrote, “In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.” That is where we are today. The efforts of the media, academia, Hollywood, and politicians have accomplished an amazing feat: they have changed the culture in a generation by being deceptive, disingenuous, and dishonest. Most people now believe right is now wrong and wrong is now right. Godly living is considered divisive, derisive, and deranged while perversion is no longer reprehensible, repugnant, and repulsive, but is thought (by non-thinkers) to be commendable, courageous, and even cultured!

We’ve come a long way, baby, in the last few years but we’ve gone in the wrong direction. A few of us are standing athwart the gasping, heaving body of American culture saying, “You are wrong. Perversion is an evil that will destroy those who practice it and it will destroy our nation.” Our lives are to be governed by God’s commandments, good judgment, and common sense.

Same-sex “marriage” fanatics tell us it is a matter of equality but it is a matter of right and wrong. They speak of “marriage” but two people of the same sex uniting is not marriage and saying so does not make it so. If every court in the U.S. and every official says so, it is still not so. A lie is still a lie if everyone affirms it and the truth is still the truth if no one affirms it!

Chief Justice Roberts’ cousin (a confessed lesbian) says that perversion should be legal because “society is becoming more accepting of the humanity of same-sex couples and the simple truth that we deserve to be treated with dignity, respect and equality under the law.” Senator Rob Portman said that he has taken sides with the same-sex crowd because his son is a homosexual. Do I need to lecture the Chief Justice and the Senator that right and wrong are not decided by society’s ever-changing standards? After all, some civilizations butchered children while others ate their foes. In other defunct civilizations children were sacrificed to pagan gods. And I am purposely making the comparison. Homosexuality has always been called, “The unspeakable crime against nature.” Also against a holy God!
It is incredible that homosexuals, with a straight face, can demand respect and recognition of their dignity! May I point out that those people do incredibly dangerous, disgusting, and deadly things? And they expect respect! What chutzpah! Or as the English would say, “What cheek.” Or as an American would say, “What stupidity!”

In the late 1950s I introduced a bill in the Indiana House of Representatives to reinstate sodomy as a crime as it had been since Indiana was a state. The homosexuals came out of the universities, the Art Institute, and of course, the closets to protest my bill. One Indiana University professor foolishly characterized David and Jonathan as lovers and declared that homosexuals only wanted to be left alone. He opined that my bill would be repressive. What it would have done is restrict homosexuals from cruising in the parks and having abnormal sex with strangers in public bathrooms, among other things. It would also have made some university professors uncomfortable, unlawful, and unemployed.

I told him and my fellow committee members that homosexuals did just want to be left alone but they wanted the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval on their evil activities. I said, “They want formal acceptability and respectability but will not get it as long as dedicated, sincere, informed Christians are still alive.” We see this today when they demand that they not only want to be treated like normal people but that we accept, applaud, and advocate their lifestyle. I don’t approve of the tsunami of fornication that has deluged America but at least that is not abnormal and aberrant. Homosexual activists have changed our culture! I was wrong in my prediction. Christian leaders are caving under the cover of “love.” It’s really cowardice.

Many Evangelicals have gone AWOL in this battle. In fact, rather than stand on biblical truth, they use reason to commit treason against Christ. I am ashamed of the compromisers, cowards, cheats, and charlatans who speak of “love” while they strangle unpleasant truth. And even if we in opposition were to be filled with hate, I would rather have truth in hate than error in love.

Besides, unpleasant truth is not always hate speech.
