In 1988, they shocked everyone by changing an 80 year-old ban on dancing, booze, tobacco, and gambling–known as the big four. One trustee at the time sought to justify the compromise by saying, “But if Biola is known for a set of rules, then we have certainly missed our mission.” However, if they digress from their long held standards and identity, they have missed their mission.

Seeking justification for the change, a student said, “We felt that the rules weren’t biblical and saw that the university was tying the rules to student spirituality.” Well, the rules can be justified biblically and yes I would say that one who did not booze, gamble, dance, and use tobacco would seem to be “spiritual” assuming he or she also attended a Bible oriented church, tithed, and served Christ.

A friend of mine, Biola alumnus Dr. R. L. Hymers Jr., and pastor of the Baptist Tabernacle in Los Angeles was critical and made headlines when he said. “Let it be known far and wide that Biola University has now embraced the end-time paganism of American society.” He was right in 1988 and I am right today. He had been critical of a rock concert held on campus with the phrase in a promotional flyer stating, “Stay mild or get wild–the choice is yours!”

But Biola has come a long, long way since then. All downhill. School officials, wanting to be cool and accepted, abandoned some long-held principles. They refused to follow the Apostle Paul’s command in II Thes. 2:15, “Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.”

In March of 2016, Biola hosted a conference “Love No Matter What: Politics, Sex, Race and the Way of the Cross.” Themes were LGBT rights, racial issues, capital punishment, etc. The speaker was 29-year-old, black, single Christena Cleveland, associate professor at Duke University Divinity School. She pontificated on radical causes especially pushing Biola to accept Black Lives Matter and the “Palestinians.” Remember this conference was at a major Christian University.

She is a very important person because Christianity Today said so. The magazine named her “one of 33 millennials leading the next generation of Christian faith.” God help us.

Very critical of white Evangelical colleges, she suggested that at least “15 evangelical presidents need to get fired.” Barry Corey, the wimpy President of Biola should have closed her down or reprimanded her strongly for being so asinine but he sheepishly said that he hoped she “wasn’t talking about me.” When Corey told her that progress was being made, she brazenly said that it would be “kinda cool” if he were the first white Christian University president to get fired! What gall. She didn’t even know how to be a gracious guest and brazenly cut the legs from under the man who invited her and gave her a generous honorarium for her nonsensical, leftist tirades.

I perused her blog and noted many silly, unbiblical comments such as when she identified Mary the mother of Christ as “an unmarried pregnant woman of color.” She also claimed that racism was “a key chromosome in America’s DNA.” All the major race baiters would agree with her. In another blog, she wrote about “Trump, the White Man’s Last Gasp, and the Resurrection.” Trump’s election was a major national tragedy especially for all Blacks and minorities according to Christena.

She strongly recommends the writing of Thích Nhất Hạnh, a Vietnamese Buddhist monk and peace activist and a prolific author now living in a French monastery. Yes, that’s right, a Christian recommending a Buddhist priest and his books.

Furthermore, Biola is now a showcase for reverse discrimination. That is astounding in a place where honesty, fairness, commitment, etc., are supposed to be supreme.

Dean of Students Daniel Paschall worked at Biola for 20 years and was told, “that every effort should be made to hire and promote only minority candidates such as African-Americans, Latinos and Asians–with even more preference given to females within those categories.” He was slotted to become a Vice President of Biola. President Corey told him several times that he had a “bright future” at Biola and only needed to complete his doctorate. He enrolled in a program at much cost of time and money but was fired anyway. Moreover, because of his quick and unexpected dismissal, he was refused a mortgage on his home.

During this time, many universities experienced black students taking over and demanding changes i.e., names of buildings changed; administrators fired; segregated black student union buildings; etc. President Corey saw the handwriting on the wall and read to the students one of his poems that reflected his conversion to leftism. He really wimped out as he expressed regret for “not wincing” at the death of Michael Brown, a black thug who robbed a store and attacked a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri. Corey was also sorry for saying, “all lives matter.” His poem titled, “I Didn’t Always See” should have been “Watch me Grovel to Keep my Job.” But he went further when he boasted about inviting “my brother” Cornell West to speak at the school.

Cornell West is a radical black professor now at Harvard Divinity School, recently at leftist Union Theological Seminary. Wikipedia says of him: “Styling himself as a radical democrat socialist West draws intellectual contributions from multiple traditions, including Christianity, the black church, Marxism, neopragmatism, and transcendentalism.”

The thrice married West introduced Obama to a crowd of a thousand people on November 29, 2007 at the Apollo Theater in Harlem as “my brother, my companion, and my comrade” but turned on him after he was elected and didn’t do enough for Blacks calling him “spineless,” “milquetoast,” and “the black mascot of Wall Street oligarchs.” He refused to support Obama for reelection and supported Bernie Sanders instead. In fact, he wanted to “slap him [Obama] on the side of his head.” Well, I didn’t suggest that West could not be right once in a while.

A white lady who has bought into the whole silly, unchristian racist issue Deborah Taylor is provost and senior vice president twitted about “police abuse of black men” and “Why it’s so hard for whites to understand Ferguson.” Another one: “Is everyone a little bit racist?” She boasted about taking part in a Black Lives Matter vigil under the university’s bell tower.

Deborah obviously drank a gallon of the Kool-Aid.

The VP for student development spot that Daniel Paschall was wired up for went to a black man who was shocked at his appointment! In fact, he thought he was going to be fired when he was called into the President’s office. He had not worked a day and no knowledge in the field for which he was hired in place of Paschall. Nor had he applied for the job, nor were any of the hiring protocols followed.

But he qualified because he was black.

Daniel Paschall sued. I hope he owns Biola in a few months and makes himself president.

R.R. Palmer, a major historian from Yale, wrote, “It is impossible to exaggerate the importance of the coming of Christianity. It brought with it, for one thing, an altogether new sense of human life. For the Greeks had shown man his mind; but the Christians showed him his soul. They taught that in the sight of God, all souls were equal, that every human life was sacrosanct and inviolate. Where the Greeks had identified the beautiful and the good, had thought ugliness to be bad, had shrunk from disease and imperfection and from everything misshapen, horrible, and repulsive, the Christian sought out the diseased, the crippled, the mutilated, to give them help. Love, for the ancient Greek, was never quite distinguished from Venus. For the Christians held that God was love, it took on deep overtones of sacrifice and compassion.”

Christmas is obviously more about changing lives (and society) than toys, trees, and tinsel.

Following Constantine’s “conversion” in A.D. 325, the churches especially in the West, built and maintained hospitals, hospices for travelers, and houses for orphans, widows, and the indigent. The churches were the only group that the poor could look to as the Empire was crumbling. In fact, the Church in Rome supported fifteen hundred widows and virgins, as well as those ill in inns, prisoners, and many of the poor. A number of hospitals were founded by rich Christians in various cities.

At the first ecumenical council at Nicaea in 325, the bishops were told to establish hospices (a place for travelers to rest) in every city that had a cathedral–which was the major town in a parish where the bishop lived and ruled! The first hospital was built by St. Basil in Caesarea in A.D. 369. Christian hospitals (the only kind) covered all of Europe and even beyond by the Middle Ages. In fact, it is said that Christian hospitals were the world’s first voluntary charitable institutions. Note that the atheists and agnostics did not build hospitals and other charitable organizations.

Historians note that charitable organizations are almost unknown in the ancient world until after the time of Christ.

Monasteries in the early days of Christianity generated the copying of Scripture and other literature, especially from Greece, and their libraries provided the inspiration for the first universities in the twelfth and thirteenth century.

Kenneth Latourette declared in his classic seven volumes A History of the Expansion of Christianity, “After the collapse of the Roman Empire, the Church, impelled by its Christian purpose, had become the schoolmaster of Western Europe and the tutor of the barbarian of the North. Under its auspices most of the universities of the Middle Ages had arisen.”

The notion of public education first came from the Protestant Reformers who taught male and female of all classes. In America, the first law to require education of the masses was passed by the Puritans. The law was called The Old Deluder Satan Act. Furthermore, the rise of the modern university is largely the result of Christian educational endeavors. And in 1910, America had 403 educational institutions of college grade under Protestant or Baptist sponsorship. All but one of the first 123 colleges in colonial America were Christian institutions. America’s university system emerged from the American seminaries: Princeton headed by John Witherspoon and Yale headed by Timothy Dwight.

Christianity changed the rules of behavior and produced a middle class not known to mankind. It had always been the rich and poor, the elite and the serfs. But with Christ who was a carpenter and Paul who was a tent-maker, physical labor was now respectable and no longer limited to slaves and serfs. There was honor in all work and workers were to be treated fairly. All ethnic groups would be respected since all people were created by God. Laziness and idleness were seen as sinful. “If any would not work, neither should he eat” was an admonition by the Apostle Paul. Thus, work was seen as an honorable and God-given calling. That helped produce a vibrant middle class.

The free world owes much to non-conformist Christianity with its emphasis on freedom of thought and liberty for everyone. It taught people to question the established church and legal systems. One of the first mass leaders of men was John Ball, a free preacher without a parish or pulpit but with plenty of pull. He was the first leader of a mass revolt in 1381 and had great influence preaching the doctrines of Bible translator John Wycliffe.

John Wesley (died 1790) was not only a great Methodist preacher but fought against bribery, smuggling, the plundering of wrecked vessels, and general corruption of politics. He worked hard to relieve poverty and started missions to prisoners. He was a pioneer in prison reform. Before 1500, very few had attempted any prison reform. He was called, “the best loved man in England.”

James Oglethorpe, John Howard, Robert Raikes, John Oberlin, William Wilberforce, and scores of other Christian leaders made an astounding impact on Europe and the world.

Without a doubt, this carpenter from a hick town in Galilee changed the world as no other person who ever lived.

Churches are supposed to be the moral compass of this nation but the churches have lost their way. Most of the mainline denominational churches are led by educated fools who are afraid to make any definitive statement about anything. Well, they surely are definite in stating that what churches taught 50 years ago was too much controversy, conflict, and control. Almost all modern pulpits disperse fluff, foolishness, and falsehood.

Most denominational churches could be turned into bowling alleys with little harm done to the moral climate of America. Even Fundamental and Evangelical pastors often deliver a muted message and have refused to deal with erring (sinning, but that’s so quaint) members. Thieves, fornicators, liars, gossips, drunks, absentee members are seldom dealt with by their churches–even churches that boast of being Bible-teaching! Is that stupid or what?

The public school system takeover started many moons ago by John Dewey (died 1952), a humanist philosopher and educator. He has been aided immensely by pathetic facsimiles coming out of Colombia, University of Chicago, and other left wing institutions. Children are often taught by tenured teachers who are dumb as a bag of hair as they often graduate students unable to read or write a check. Is that stupid or what?

We now have activist professors from the wacky 1960s whose brains were fried on drugs pitching a leftist agenda to shallow, silly, and shiftless youth. Many graduate without knowing anything about life or how to make a living. They sit around in their “safe places” demanding that no one challenge their silly beliefs foisted on them by morally and academically bankrupt professors. Leftists have touted women in combat yet males and females are so fragile that they can’t handle the hearing of contrary views!

Moreover, “dangerous” words are “forbidden” by the thought police from stinging their sensitive ears. Words that are not approved, appropriate, or acceptable are “American,” “homosexual,” “illegal alien,” “Caucasian,” “mothering,” “fathering,” “foreigners,” “elders,” “senior citizen,” “overweight,” “speech impediment,” “dumb,” “sexual preference,” “manpower,” “freshmen,” “mailman,” “chairman,” etc. And now we are told that their “education” will be free, a euphemism for taxes extracted from hard working taxpayers. Is that stupid or what?

After every mass shooting (but not the multiple daily shootings in Chicago) there is mass hysteria among the gun grabbers who try to pass as sensitive, thoughtful, bleating hearts. They tell us they do not want to ban all guns but no sane, honest person believes that. Some fools even use the Bible to defend the indefensible but guns are a lot like parachutes; if you need one and don’t have one, you’ll probably never need one again! They tell us America should “beat [our] guns into plow shears” but if we beat our weapons into plow shears while the descendants of Mau, Marx, Lenin, and Hitler still live, we are fools and will become dead fools. Is that stupid, or what?

We have been amused by wealthy, low-life, no-talent entertainers with the morals of an alley cat. They are paid astounding, absurd, and abusive amounts of money to infect society with promotion of drugs, barnyard living, filthy lyrics, and anti-American, leftist propaganda. Is that stupid or what?

We have heard the caterwauling from baby killers for decades as they present their case for baby killing although they call it abortion. They even refuse to make it legal to save the life of a fortunate baby who somehow survives the doctor’s attempt to kill it! They tell us, with a straight face, that the baby is not a baby until he or she pops out of the womb so it is permissible to kill the innocent one on the same day he or she would be born! That is baby killing! However, the abortionists have been converted to crony capitalism (but only in this instance) and are now selling baby parts harvested from aborted babies, courtesy of Planned Parenthood and American taxpayers! Is that stupid, or what?

We have listened with bated breath to sociologists who told us that children will be warped, even twisted if they are made to do chores, clean their rooms, speak respectfully, eat what is put before them, stay in school, and do their homework. And it would be catastrophic if their little bottoms are thumped from time to time for rebellion so we let them develop like wild animals and we are surprised when they act that way. Is that stupid, or what?

We listened to the strutting sissies for 25 years telling us that they were “born that way” as they tell us that love is love no matter who or what it is. And they pretend that the Bible teaches such balderdash! So, it is all right if they love the same sex or two or three of the same sex. Or, if they love someone who is not male or female at least not permanently. In fact, recently, they have put normal people on the defensive for suggesting that if same sex activity was perversion in every culture and nation and religion then it is still perversion today–no matter what Obama, Hillary, or Dr. I. Will Tryanything teaches. We are expected to believe and advocate that it is normal and desirable for two (or three) of the same gender to be married. Thousands of years of civilization, culture, and Christianity are regretted, rejected, and ridiculed. Is that stupid or what?

We always thought our borders should be secure and only immigrants having something to offer America should be accepted as citizens. We especially thought no sane person would defend the unlimited influx across our border by undisciplined, uneducated, and uncultured barbarians determined to kill us and establish a world caliphate. If people crossing our border were white, home schooling, creationist, Christians, Obama would use the marines to control the border. We are told that the “refuges” are not barbarians but are simply refuges from tyranny. Those who demand a strong border and stringent vetting and no immigration for a few years are said to be ignorant, insensitive, and intolerant. Is that stupid, or what?

We are told that Muslims worship the same God as Christians only with a different name and there’s really not that much difference between the two religions. Let’s see about that. Muslims do not believe that Christ is God; He did not die on the cross; He did not rise from the dead; the Bible is not the very Word of God; Muslims should be killed if they leave Islam; men can have four wives who can be beaten at times. Muslims take time from beating their wives to pick up their welfare checks to finance their desert lifestyle. Is that stupid, or what?

We are told that mankind (or womankind, if you will) has been wrong since the beginning of time in identifying a male as a male and a female as a female by their genitals. It has been decided by “experts” that an obvious male can have a female living inside and he must be true to himself (herself) and assert his/her true self. We are supposed to believe that poppycock, even though it simply doesn’t work. Kids who try to adjust to the opposite gender are troubled, sick, and suicide prone. But we are supposed to applaud, appreciate, and approve their “courage.” Is that stupid, or what?

A lie doesn’t become truth; wrong does not become right; and evil doesn’t become good because it is accepted by the majority.

I’m not suggesting we send out a posse to corral all stupid people and jail them. Maybe we could simply remove all labels from every item and the problem would work itself out. You know, like on chain saws, “Do not grab blade while it’s running.” Or, a Superman costume contained the warning, “Wearing of this garment does not enable you to fly.” It’s really a tragedy because stupid people don’t realize how stupid they really are–because they’re so stupid.

If I offended you by calling you stupid, I’m really sorry, but I thought you already knew!

A recent Gordon graduate stated “The current policy creates a sense of fear for LGBTQ students and is psychologically harmful to those in the community” and added “Campus should be a safe place for all students.” Of course, all students should be physically safe on all campuses but the question that demands an answer is, “Why are practicing homosexuals permitted to be students in a Christian college?” Moreover, even if homosexuals are permitted, is it prima facie evidence that a prohibition against immorality (fornication or perversion) results in an unsafe atmosphere?

Gordon officials want to quell any rumors and concern about the school’s status since that would have devastating effects on enrollment and fundraising. If Gordon College is now under the regulators’ gun it could lose its organizational stamp of approval. Gordon must fix whatever needs fixing before September. It is a fact that the accrediting agency does not like Gordon (or any college) prohibiting “homosexual practice” and the banning of “sexual relations outside of marriage.” A committee, during an 18-month “period of discernment” has been looking for a way to fix the problem. A working group includes students (one is homosexual), faculty, staff, administrators, and trustees who will read books and meet with experts to fix the problem.

Just a minute. It won’t take 18 months since the “period of discernment” can be accomplished in 18 seconds. I’m a very simple person so I’m simplistic at times. A question must be asked: Are homosexuality and fornication forbidden by the Bible? Any third-rate Bible scholar would admit that fact, although maybe without enthusiasm. So, another question: Is it permissible for a Christian institution to make flagrant decisions in disobedience to His Word? Another question: Why does it take 18 months or 18 minutes? Gordon’s answer to the accrediting agency must be “Go pound sand.” Now, that is not an academic reply but it is an audacious, admirable, and accurate reply.

Can any Christian college president and Board of Trustees permit an accrediting agency or the Federal Government to interfere, supervise, and mandate rules for them? Of course, the answer should be “no,” however, that is a lost cause. The fact is, those very school officials capitulated many years ago when they decided they needed the secular stamp of approval upon their schools. It is called accreditation. Almost all Christian colleges have sought and received government approval through regional accreditation.

Christian educators know that parents are uninformed and have been brainwashed into believing that accreditation and qualification are synonymous. So Christian educators drank the grape Kool-Aid many years ago and some of them said to me as they wiped their quivering lips, “We will go along with accreditation as long as they don’t tell us how to run our school, what to teach, and what textbooks to use.” Of course, that is exactly what happened. Those same people did respond to the iron fist by wringing their hands, whining, and whimpering but they adjusted to the surrender of their basic educational and scriptural principles. They sold out to get handouts from government such as grants, loans, and other benefits, enabling students to receive government funds.

Today, Christian college registrars cannot even inform the tuition-paying parents the status of their children‘s education unless the student signs a consent form! Parents are fools to pay tuition without that signed consent form. Required chapel attendance has been forsaken and, generally, school officials are walking through a minefield of government and accrediting association regulations.

Some of us in Christian education said many years ago that what government (at any level) funds, it runs; and if you take the government’s nickel, you will get their noose. Christian educators took the chance and now operate with a noose, loose in some cases, but a noose around their necks while standing on a weak, wobbly, wormy, and worthless scaffold called accreditation.

Now comes the next step when the Federal bureaucracy, not just the state or an accreditation agency, can set the guidelines for any school that awards a degree, diploma or certificate. Federal educational thugs can determine what courses must be taught for each degree, what constitutes a credit hour, how many hours a professor may teach, and what books will be used. And on and on and on.

Can any Christian college president justify permitting any agency to interfere in the discipline of students (sounds quaint, doesn’t it) and to set standards for those students? How about a college’s stand on abortion, homosexuality, fornication (very quaint), and other “sins”? Therefore, those colleges that decide not to abide by new regulations (that may not be too intrusive at the beginning) can expect to lose tax exemption, all student loans, grants, and any benefit from state and Federal Government.

School officials will have to jump through government hoops in order to satisfy the federal bureaucrats and even fools know that federal bureaucrats are never satisfied.

All presidents of Christian colleges had better practice jumping because there are numerous hoops they must jump through to satisfy state, federal, and regional accrediting dictates. And note that dictates is not far from dictators.

However, we don’t have to look in the past or to secular universities to prove the deleterious effects of school accreditation. Simply look at the present. Look what accreditation has done and is doing to Wheaton College, Moody, Cedarville University, Grace Seminary, Tennessee Temple University, and to a lesser extent Bryan College, Dallas Seminary, and others.

Gordon College, near Boston, is now on the defense being attacked by their regional accreditation association. Of course, accreditation alone is not the culprit; however, it is the accreditation mentality of being approved that is driving change–for the worse– in all schools.

America’s early Christian schools boasted scholarly, saintly, sober professors who pumped knowledge and tried to impart character into very young students. A young teen seeking enrollment at Columbia (then King’s) as a freshman had to translate the first three of Tully’s Select Orations from Latin to Greek and translate the first ten chapters of John’s Gospel from Greek to English! Note that was to enroll!

The only accreditation the early schools had was the quality of students they thrust out after a rigorous exposure to some of the greatest minds in America. Then came the do-gooders who thought they had a divine mandate to control everything to “guarantee” quality education. So the restrictions came and the quality plummeted.

Today’s Christian universities think they will be an exception but the historical scenario is playing out in front of our eyes. With regional accreditation has come the demand that professors hold a Ph.D. from various schools, not schools in agreement with the hiring institution. Note that Baptist schools have professors trained at outrageously liberal universities and seminaries. Of course, schools are not permitted to teach the truth about creation/evolution in their science classes.

Student personal requirements were deep-sixed so tobacco, booze, gambling, dancing, piercings, etc., are permitted while required chapel, godly living, church attendance, and weekly Christian service are proscribed. In fact, such things are considered antiquated, even appalling.

Charges have circulated for months that Gordon College was under the gun of regulators from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC); nevertheless, Gordon’s spokesman says that accreditation is not in question: “Contrary to recent media reports, Gordon’s accreditation is not in jeopardy, as its admission and employment policies have always been in full compliance with the NEASC Standards for Accreditation….”

However, Barbara Brittingham, president of the NEASC’s higher education commission told the Boston Business Journal, that the school’s current “Life and Conduct Statement” which bans Gordon community members from “sexual relations outside marriage” and “homosexual practice,” may be “inconsistent with the commission’s standards.”

Brittingham told me that she knows of no college that has refused to capitulate to an accreditation association’s demand for an atmosphere that is friendly to fornicators and homosexuals, and using the First Amendment as their reason. Does that mean all other Christian colleges have eliminated their “no fornication, no homosexuality” rule? Or does it mean they are still under the radar?

Opposition to Gordon’s policy on sex also comes from students, faculty, alumni and local residents who have signed an online petition to remove the words “homosexual practice” from the school’s list of forbidden activities. About half of the 1100 signatures are alumni and 200 are faculty and staff! One does not need a doctorate in education to know that Gordon is in deep doo doo when such a high percent of workers support the LGBTQ position!

I’m afraid the young president, Michael Lindsay, is on his way out if he does not capitulate to the perversion-is-okay crowd. He should keep his eyes open for specials from U-Haul.

Furthermore, it is folly to permit students, faculty, alumni, and local residents to set standards for a Christian school! Local residents! Yeah, hey everyone, let’s vote on what is right and wrong!

However, Bible truth is not decided by a majority vote. God is a benevolent dictator and He does not allow a deciding vote–only a choice between obedience and disobedience.

Harvard University, founded in 1636, is the oldest institution of higher education in the United States. It was named after the College’s first benefactor, a young minister John Harvard. John was from a wealthy British family, most who died of plague leaving him to control the family fortune. When he died in 1638, he left his library and half his estate to fund the college that was to train ministers of the Gospel. A statue of John Harvard stands today in front of University Hall in Harvard Yard, and is perhaps the University’s best known landmark. However, practically all the faculty and almost all the students would be embarrassed if they knew what he really believed.

Harvard College consisted of an acre of land and a house with one professor. The first graduation class consisted of nine graduates. For many years, at least half the graduates became ministers. Students had to prove their fitness for the bachelor’s degree by showing that they could read the original Hebrew and Greek of the Old and New Testaments and translate them into the Latin tongue, and “resolve them logically.”

The early motto of Harvard was “Truth for Christ and the Church;” however, when unbelieving radicals took over, every word was deleted except “truth.” I’m afraid truth was also deleted and it has long been denigrated and denied.

One point of the “Harvard College Laws” of 1642 was “to know God better.” For example: “Let every student be plainly instructed and earnestly pressed to consider well the main end of his life and studies is to know God and Jesus Christ which is eternal life.” Plus each student was to read the Bible twice a day!

In 1654, Harvard’s first president Henry Dunster and his wife were thrilled at the birth of their son but a problem arose when he refused to have his son “baptized” as per the Congregational Church where he was a member. Dunster had recently been convinced that baptism was not sprinkling of babies but immersion of believers thereby teaching the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. The Puritans were apoplectic!

Dunster had witnessed the whipping of Obadiah Holmes for being a Baptist in New England! That incident forced the Harvard president to rethink his theology. He came out Baptist. He felt the heat from the Puritans and finally exiled himself in 1654 to nearby Plymouth Colony for his health–he wanted to stay alive!

By the early 1700s, the Christians lost control of Harvard to the unbelievers (liberals), then Unitarians and it has been downhill to this day with periods of light and darkness.

Louis Agassiz, biologist, geologist, and medical doctor, was considered one of the greatest scientists of the 19th century and taught at Harvard from 1848 to 1873. Agassiz, an active Christian, was a friend of Darwin but vigorously opposed him saying, that “the crowning act of the Creator, man, was placed on the earth at the head of creation.” Years later, Stephen Jay Gould filled the same position at Harvard as Agassiz, but he could never fill his shoes.

W.E.B. Du Bois was the first black to receive a Ph.D. from Harvard and was a founder of the NAACP who championed the word “colored” instead of “black.” He died after a lifetime of leftist causes (often as a community organizer) never meeting a Communist he didn’t like.
Harvard showed their loony, leftist leanings when they had Fidel Castro as guest of the Law School Forum and gave Nelson Mandela an honorary doctorate.

Because Harvard cut itself loose from any stabilizing influence, it has become rich and raucous. It is one of the main cheerleaders for left wing activities, and is a propaganda factory for the left, supporting totalitarians on the left and the vile “isms” such as Marxism, Darwinism, Freudianism, Higher Criticism, multiculturalism, relativism, naturalism, positivism, socialism, liberalism, radical environmentalism, and other studies such as feminist studies, gay studies, transgender studies, transvestite studies, outcome-based education, etc.

Harvard’s descent from true scholarship, sanity, and the Scripture is not surprising. It has happened to all such schools and was foretold in II Tim. 4:3-4, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”

Universities were started in the Middle Ages and were modeled on guilds which trained and evaluated apprentices and journeymen. Universities majored on theology, philosophy, rhetoric, etc., instead of carpentry, cobbling, and other necessary occupations. Today, the schools of higher learning are propaganda palaces, indoctrination institutions, and sex symposiums.

This week was Harvard’ Sex Week and their website reveals the sessions”will dispel myths about anal sex and give you insight into why people do it and how to do it well.” No one will ask if it is healthy, normal, or right. Gasp! Right is whatever one believes to be right. There is no “wrong,” well, except it is wrong to disagree with abortion, perversion, same-sex-marriage, and gun control.

There were sessions on “Losing Your (Concept of) Virginity,” “Brown Girlz Do it Well: a Queer Diaspora Remix,” “What What in the Butt: Anal Sex 101,” “Fifty Shades of False: Kink, Fantasy, and Fetish” and more, much more. Ain’t education great! A lesbian porn producer was also scheduled to speak. Sure sorry I missed that.

The Sex Week pitch declares, “Learn the facts about this exciting yet often misunderstood form of pleasure, find out the common mistakes people make, and get all your questions answered!” No doubt there are millions of people who have some questions. In fact, I have some: Are there any sane people still working for or attending Harvard? Where are the few professors and students who will stand in Harvard Yard and denounce the debauchery? How can there be any educational value in such vileness? Is there even an iota of morality being taught? What have these “teachers” and students been taught in younger years? Where are the parents of the students; why are they not literally marching on the Harvard campus? Where are the university trustees? Obviously, they are not very trustworthy. Do these dummies really think they are chic?

All honest, sane people know the anus was not made for sex and is very vulnerable for all kinds of diseases and physical problems when its use is perverted.

What a tragedy that Harvard was stolen from Bible believers and is now the antithesis of what the school’s founders believed. If Harvard’s leaders had any character they would return the school to the original Calvinists who were responsible for the school.

Evidently the squirrels haven’t gathered all the nuts yet. The nuts are all over college campuses especially at Harvard this week.

He is serving a life sentence without parole (after his death sentence was commuted) for killing Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner in 1981. He spoke via a pre-record message. Abu-Jamal had received a BA from the school via correspondence in 1996 followed by an MA from California State University.

Abu-Jamal has been a busy boy but then taxpayers have provided him everything he needed so he could finish school, write columns, and appear on radio shows–while in prison! He has written six books and is an advocate for prisoner rights and civil rights. You see, the killer doesn’t have to get up early and get ready for a day of hard work. You provide him the environment and tools to become a new Renaissance man.

The slain officer’s widow said, “It’s not appropriate. His freedom was taken away when he murdered a police officer in the line of duty. It seems like our justice system allows murderers to continue to have a voice over the public airwaves and at college commencement. It’s despicable.” Sorry Maureen but it’s more than despicable. It’s nuts.

Abu-Jamal shot Faulkner in the back then shot him between the eyes when he (Abu-Jamal) interjected himself in his brother’s traffic arrest. But of course, racism was the catalyst for the whole incident according to the racists! The slain office was white. Abu-Jamal was also injured by a shot from Faulkner and when further police arrived on the scene, he was arrested and charged with first degree murder. When the arresting officers arrived at the scene, Abu-Jamal was sitting on a curb near Faulkner’s corpse. Unfortunately, the cop’s shot was not fatal to the black thug.

Five witnesses saw Abu-Jamal shoot Faulkner and the bullets that were taken from Faulkner’s chest and brain matched the .38 caliber handgun that was registered to the killer. Abu-Jamal’s gun was at his feet when the police arrived at the murder scene. Furthermore, the gun had five empty cartridges when investigators found it.

The killer’s brother refused to defend him at the trial! He told investigators at the crime scene: “I ain’t got nothing to do with this.”

The U. S. Supreme Court has ruled against the cop-killer three times as have lesser courts. But of course, everyone involved in trying to put Abu-Jamal where he can do limited harm is accused of being a racist. But then, sane people don’t care whether a killer is white, black, or polka dot; he should be strapped down in “Old Sparky” within a year or so after he kills.

A T-shirt was sold in the Philadelphia area with the blunt message: “Officer Danny Faulkner was murdered by Mumia Abu-Jamal who shouldn’t be in an 8 x 10 foot cell….He should be 6 feet closer to Hell.” I don’t usually like T-shirts with a message but I would buy that one.

His defenders include many of the looney left in Hollywood, San Francisco and Paris. Fidel Castro, the Berrigan brothers, Ramsey Clark, James Cone, Angela Davis, Snoop Dogg, Jesse Jackson, Van Jones, Norman Lear, Archbishop TuTu, Gloria Steinem, ad nauseam.

Another Abu-Jamal defender is Debo P. Adegbile whom Obama nominated in 2013 to become the U.S. Assistant Attorney General of the Justice Department’s civil rights division; however, in an unusual seizure of sanity, the nomination was rejected by a Senate committee because he was working with the NAACP to overturn the killer’s sentence.

Within days, Obama renominated the cop-killer’s defender again. When the nomination went to the full senate, even with Harry Reid’s objections, obfuscations, and obstructions, the senate refused to approve the candidate. Adegbile withdrew his nomination and announced he would join a prestigious law firm instead of working for you and me.

Every person who approved this sorry excuse for a commencement should be fired–from school board members to administrators. It seems Abu-Jamal is on the short list of college commencement speakers since he has already delivered his oratory at Evergreen State College in Washington and Antioch College in Ohio, Kent State University, Occidental College, and Merrill College.

The killer has been made an honorary citizen of approximately 25 cities around the world, including Copenhagen, Montreal, Palermo, and Paris. The New College of California School of Law even presented him with an honorary degree “for his struggle to resist the death penalty.” Abu-Jamal published an essay in the Yale Law Journal in 1991 dealing with the death penalty and some of his death row experiences. He has done numerous broadcasts for the online Prison Radio and written many columns for Jungle Welt, a German Marxist newspaper.

Wimpy, whiney, Goddard College President Bob Kenny said, the college holds twenty commencement ceremonies each year to provide personalized graduation ceremonies in each degree program. He added that each graduate acts as his own valedictorian– so everyone is a star. No one is last since everyone is first. There are no tests and no grades. The additional advantage is that each student builds his or her own curriculum! Isn’t higher education great?

In a HuffPost Live roundtable Wednesday, Will Creeley — the Director of Legal and Public Advocacy for the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education — said that no matter how controversial, universities have every right to select whatever commencement speaker they want. Right, but parents have every right to not send their children to such a school or to financially support it. However, the students chose this speaker!

Students should not be inviting commencement speakers. And no college should be a cheerleader for a cop killer.

Republicans are giddy with their recent success at the polls and have the opportunity to effect the greatest change in a hundred years. But don’t count on it. Like all politicians, they have a propensity to foul their own nest. When it comes to human nature, I expect people to act as they always have–with an exception now and then.

We have two parties to keep the U.S on an even keel, not going to excess in either direction. Need I remind anyone that we have seen both parties swinging to extremes in recent years? Bush spoke of “compassionate conservatism” that was neither compassionate nor conservative. We saw him proclaiming a desire to spread democracy all over the world, without any constitutional authority to do so. Moreover, he had no historical precedent to think that Muslims would be willing to live in a democracy. Evidently, neither Bush nor his advisors had ever read the Koran or Hadith. We saw a “conservative” implement a massive prescription drug bill that alone may destroy us.

His bipartisan law, No Child Left Behind, was a farce that had no basis in law or practical application. It is time to stop throwing dollars into the rat hole of public education. Isn’t it about time to realize that public education is a failure, a farce, and a fraud and we should let it fall like a rotten apple? The feds and the states should get out of the education business, a business that went bankrupt many years ago. I did not weep to see Bush ride off on “ole paint” into the western sunset.

Then Obama, with both guns loaded, rode into town surrounded by a motley crew of socialists, communists, racists, incompetents, and opportunists. But they looked good and voting for them made Americans feel good about themselves. Maybe Whites were not racists after all (but what about more than 90% of Blacks who voted for him?) In two years, we have seen Obama and his crowd bring America to the cusp of the abyss with government takeover of private businesses that would make Mussolini proud. Moreover, passing the massive healthcare bill makes us about as socialist as the various socialist European governments.

Then the Tea Party came to town and sane, sensible Americans felt a stirring of hope again. Maybe we can undo some of the damage done by dangerous demagogues. I am also hopeful, but realistic. There is an old adage in Christian education that “You get what you inspect not what you expect.” Or something like that. We had better make it clear to all conservative legislators that this is their last chance. If the Republican Party doesn’t get it right this time, they will be graveyard dead by 2012. If legislators waver, they will be looking for new jobs. No more chances.

That means no compromise on basic principles. Now that does not mean that legislators cannot be a little flexible with issues such as the amount of tax cuts, how many federal departments to bury in an unmarked grave, how quickly to totally eliminate the abominable Obama health care bill, etc.

If Obama is as socialistic as I think, he may not be willing to cooperate, so the House will have to refuse to fund the massive bills that no one read before they were passed. (Not reading bills should be illegal!) If Obama and his acolytes don’t blink, buckle, and back off, it will mean gridlock and a shutdown of the government. Then shut it down! Then the good guys must be prepared to take their case to the American people. Yes, there will be political risks, but that’s part of governing.

Thinking, concerned citizens should make it clear that we are watching every vote and are taking notes of every compromise. We must let politicians know that we are weary of sending people to Washington (or the state house) only to find them moving to the left upon their arrival in Washington. Have you noticed that “conservatives” usually move to the left (a la Orrin Hatch, et al.) but liberals almost never move to the right?

We must inform politicians that we are weary of politicians who are so enamored with their positions that they will compromise any principle to stay in office or to get peer approval, or maybe even to be on the cocktail circle “A” list.

We are weary of hearing GOP leaders talk about the “big tent” being big enough for perverts, baby killers, socialists, etc., but then those same leaders ridicule the Christian right. How much longer will we put up with such uncivil, unreasonable and unfair treatment? Even a dumb dog can tell the difference in being kicked around and being stumbled over. Republican leaders have “used” Christians long enough.

We are weary of having Republicans buckle under to Democrats’ threats. The two parties are supposed to have different philosophies so that means confrontation, conflict, and sometimes combat. We have sent fighters to Congress, not lovers. At least, that was our intention.

Any Republicans who keep voting for “pork” projects in their districts while they criticize other politicians who want pork for their own districts will be sent back home before they get settled in Washington. I suggest that they not sign any long-term leases. Stop bringing home the bacon hoping to ensure re-election. Simply do the job according to constitutional mandates.

Let’s run out of office any legislator who continues to fund the National Endowment for the Arts when it promotes perversion, blasphemy, but mainly, bad art! Even if it were good art, even noble art, the government has no constitutional authorization to fund it. If artists can’t sell their art then let them sell shoes or flip hamburgers. .

I try to vote for people who use the criteria I used when I was in the Indiana House of Representatives. Before voting on any bill, I asked, Is it Constitutional? Is the proposed law really necessary? Can we afford it and do we need it now? Will this bill expand government? And how will this bill impact families? Moreover, I would never vote for any candidate for any office if he believed it was right to butcher unborn babies.

We are watching all of you and judgment day comes in 2012!

Universities are almost held in reverence, a reverence that is not justified. The basic message emanating from most secular universities: “People of color are automatic victims; whites are villains and should feel guilty for undeserved white privileges. Homosexuality is commendable and abhorring that behavior is contemptible. Minorities have privileges that no one else has and to question their special treatment is prima facie evidence of bigotry. America is a selfish, evil nation taking advantage of poor people everywhere.” Every parent can expect their children to be taught such balderdash at all state colleges, Ivy League universities, and many Christian universities. Plus the education received will be third rate and would not have been acceptable in the average high school 50 years ago!

Dr. Walter Williams wrote about an English professor’s comment: “One of the items that I assigned was a two-page essay that described a favorite vacation or holiday. One college student turned in two pictures drawn with crayon depicting the beach. When I gave her a failing grade, she was indignant and said that she put a great deal of work into the pictures. When I told her that she did not do the assignment and that she was supposed to write an essay, she said, ‘But I don’t know what an essay is!’” That was a college student not an elementary student!

At America’s major 55 liberal arts universities it was found that 98 percent could identify rap “artist” Snoop Doggy Dogg and Beavis and Butt-Head, but only 34 percent knew George Washington was the general at the battle of Yorktown. It’s time to arouse from sleep and get your students out of those schools before they become lazy, lobotomized losers for a lifetime.

Parents and students need to know what a college has to offer before writing that tuition check. The core subjects will usually be offered (but don’t count on it) but remember that the school is in the business of selling worthless degrees. So the courses offered will run the gamut–soup to nuts, with an emphasis on the nuts.

American universities have trashed or minimized core subjects and emphasize “Black Studies,” “Disability Studies,” “Queer Body Politics,” “Men’s Studies,” (at about 100 universities), and “Whiteness Studies.” David Horowitz says: “Black studies celebrates Blackness, Chicano studies celebrates Chicanos, Women’s studies celebrates women, and white studies attacks white people as evil.” Are you funding that?

Oh, I forgot to mention a big deal, “Fat Studies,” and one school offers classes in “Buffyology” which is the study of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.” Educators a hundred years ago would blush in shame and think me an unreliable gasbag to suggest that any college would be so trivial, tasteless, and trashy. Oh, but it gets worse, much worse. You can take classes on Harry Potter and Elvish–the language of “Lord of the Rings.” Maybe students can learn to say “No” in Elvish to outrageous courses.

Carnegie Mellon University students will study “Sex and Death.” They will decide “whether we need to liberate death now that (maybe) we have figured sex out.” I’m not sure how we can “liberate death” but I’m pleased to know that someone has “figured sex out.” After these academic “how to” courses dealing with sex, someone should have done so by now.

Obviously, sex is a major concern at these schools but another major concern is race and Marxism. A good example is Occidental College (where our President attended) that offers “The Unbearable Whiteness of Barbie: Race and Popular Culture in the United States.” They also explore ways in “which scientific racism has been put to use in the making of Barbie [and] to an interpretation of the film The Matrix as a Marxist critique of capitalism.” Everyone has been wondering about that. I wonder if I could audit that course!

Amherst College in Massachusetts offers the class “Taking Marx Seriously: Should Marx be given another chance?” Students in this course are asked if Marxism still has any “credibility” left. Did Marx ever have any credibility? If so, with whom? Now there’s a course I could get excited about! If people had taken Marx seriously during the nineteenth century, millions of people would not have been butchered and enslaved all over the world. However, I doubt seriously that the professor will deal with that aspect of Marx. Wonder why?

Other mindless courses are taught such as University of California’s “The Psychology of the Lesbian Experience,” Harvard University’s “Marxist Concepts of Racism,” Alfred University’s “Nip, Tuck, Perm, Pierce, and Tattoo: Adventures with Embodied Culture,” John Hopkins University’s “Sex, Drugs, and Rock ‘n’ Roll in Ancient Egypt.” I should stop but it continues so I will: University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill); “Canine Cultural Studies”; while Harvard has “I Like Ike, But I Love Lucy”; and the reputable George Mason University offers “Hip-Hop: Beats, Rhyme and Culture”; and Georgetown’s “Bible and Horror” seems to be a sure winner. Of course the current day horror is in the “miseducation” in these major universities.

Could this be why Today’s College Students and Yesteryear’s High School Grads reported that “Contemporary college seniors scored on average little or no higher than the high-school graduates of a half-century ago on a battery of 15 questions assessing general cultural knowledge.” Weep America, weep and stop supporting “miseducation.”

Thoughtful, concerned, dedicated students should run from these universities like their hair is on fire. They should run, not walk, as fast as possible from such “schools of higher learning.” In fact, if my child even looked at one of their catalogs, I would nail him in a barrel and feed him through a hole once a day–with thanks to Mark Twain!

If one is going into a profession that requires an accredited degree, a student can go to an unaccredited college for undergraduate work then get an advanced degree from an accredited school that would accept his undergraduate work. Accreditation does not equal quality.

One thing parents should not do is bankrupt their family to pay for an overpriced education that probably won’t produce a good return on their investment. A huge number of parents have robbed their retirement plans to pay extortion (tuition) at second rate universities–even Ivy League universities. That is not kindness and responsible parenting–it’s called stupidity.

If a student wants to attend an expensive school, he can work a couple years before enrolling as they do in Europe. Or he can do what my wife and I did: work and attend college at the same time. My father wanted me to attend a state university and promised “not to send me a dollar” if I went to a Christian school. He kept his word. That was before Dad was a Christian and much later he trusted Christ and had a change of heart and life. I mean he really had a change of heart. He became a new person and totally supported my work, but by that time I had long finished my training.

During my college days in Chicago I worked as a painter, chauffer (in Chicago!), pumped gas, and parked cars on the glitzy Gold Coast where I rubbed elbows with Chicago’s rich and famous as well as the infamous. After marriage, I sacked groceries and carried them out for shoppers for .98 cents an hour while attending another college in Chattanooga. Yes, it was very difficult to work full time and carry a full college load, but it was worth it and I didn’t borrow a dollar or receive any grants.

Six million college graduates are now living with their parents (something I predicted in 1999) because they cannot find a job. (I understand that they lie in bed “looking up at faded Obama posters” while listening to an over-the-hill Barbara Streisand sing, “Happy Days are Here Again.”) Often those young people refuse to work at anything if it is not in their area of training or the salary is “beneath” them, so they sit at home mooching off their parents. Not in this household!

Often students graduate with a degree in literature (and don’t even have to read Shakespeare!), anthropology, medieval art, etc., and discover that while those are interesting subjects, they are not in demand. To make a good living, one must possess the skills that are wanted: business, computer, math, science, law (no, we have enough lawyers), etc.

About 40,000 Ph.D.’s are awarded each year while only 337 were awarded in 1903. At the University of Georgia, a Ph.D. candidate in creative writing can submit poems instead of a dissertation! And at the University of Michigan you can get a Ph.D. in literature without reading Shakespeare! Say what?

Most American schools of “higher learning” are monuments to bingeing, bureaucracies, buffoonery, bullying, and sports, the only thing in which they excel–often at the expense of education.
The loonies at the University of Wisconsin are teaching that it is “unfair” to be white as if we had anything to do with it. Whites cannot see racism when it takes place. Of course, that’s what the race hustlers, Jackson, Sharpton, and Obama have been saying for years.

Occidental College (where our sitting President attended!) offers a course in “Stupidity,” which compares the American presidency to the offensive cartoon television show, “Beavis and Butthead.” I feel many quips coming over me in waves, but I’d better stop.

Evidently the squirrels haven’t gathered all the nuts yet. There are plenty of them running our institutions of higher education, a misnomer these days.
