In non-naval parlance, it means, “I’m not to be messed with,” or a “desire to compete or dominate.”

Mitt Romney, just before being sworn in as U.S. Senator from Utah, fired a shot across the bow of Trump’s Ship of State. Mitt (the former liberal governor of the Peoples’ Republic of Massachusetts, failed presidential candidate, and now senator from Utah) fired his shot from an op-ed in the Washington Post in the December 24, 2018 online edition. He charged, “the president has not risen to the mantle of the office.” In a March 2016 speech, he called Trump a “phony” and a “fraud.”

Mitt exposed his internationalism when he said, “America is strongest when our arms are linked with other nations. We want a unified and strong Europe, not a disintegrating union.” No, we don’t need to be entangled with foreign powers but cooperate with them when our best interest requires it. It is treason to surrender any U.S. national sovereignty or authority or bow to any foreign power. In other words: America first!

Romney added, “Trump’s words and actions have caused dismay around the world.” No, Trump’s words and actions have caused dismay to the Globalists but delight to freedom loving and independent minded world leaders. I remind Mitt that Trump “copycats” have risen in Italy, Brazil, Hungary, Serbia, the Netherlands, Austria, and Poland, with populist stirrings in Germany, England, and France. Trump’s election and stand have caused political leaders in other nations to take a stand for their own nation, not the European Union. Such independent leaders who insist on putting their nation first keep the Globalists up all night with perpetual heartburn.

Since Romney has thrust himself into the spotlight again (and criticizing Trump guarantees him bookings on major television shows and op-ed opportunities), he has called attention to his own beliefs, actions, and character.

Romney is a Mormon which he has a right to be but we have a right and duty to question how his beliefs might affect his votes in the senate. After all, a member of Jim Jones’ cult would have to face questions about sexual abuse of women and children and the socialism (that turned out to be Communism). It would be irresponsible not to inquire into what a candidate believed if he were a member of the Jones’ cult. Of course, there was a big difference in the cult of Jim Jones and the Mormon cult. But a cult is a cult is a cult.

It would be negligent for citizens not to inquire into a candidate’s Mennonite religion since Mennonites are known for taking a stand against war. That belief could impact millions of people and the safety and future of America. So we will question how a Mennonite’s pacifism might affect America.

A Hassidic Jewish candidate for high office should be asked: “Since your religion forbids you to work or drive on the Sabbath, what would you do in event of a major domestic or foreign conflict when a quick response is essential? Will you be in the senate or the synagogue during a Sabbath attack?

It is unthinkable that a member of a Christian Identity Church, known for white supremacy views, would not be questioned about the church’s stand on Blacks and other minorities.

Normally, it is no one’s business what a candidate believes no matter how weird and bizarre the beliefs may be. It is not unconstitutional to be weird. That is obvious when one looks closely at the U.S. Congress. But it is germane if those bizarre beliefs might impact the nation. That is the issue.

The following Mormon doctrines demand some answers from Senator Romney:

Senator Romney, do you believe that one day you will be a god and if so, could that not be a dangerous concept to hold as a leader in the U.S. Senate? After all, a supreme being cannot make mistakes and is not answerable to any person or nation. When will you become a god? Is that process taking place at this time?

Do you believe that Kolob is an actual planet (star) where a day lasts 1000 years? Do you believe that God created many worlds that are inhabited? That could easily affect your attitude toward U.S. space exploration.

The First President of the Mormons is said to speak for God so would you be willing to refuse one of his commands that could impact our nation negatively?

Since Mormons believe “There is no salvation without accepting Joseph Smith,” how will that impact your votes dealing with religious freedom? If that silly teaching is true then what did mankind do before the Mormons erected their Temple in Salt Lake City?

Mormon founder, Brigham Young (who had 55 wives) believed that the sun is inhabited! That was the sun! Maybe that is the reason Young appeared to have a fried brain. He also wrote, “The only men who become Gods, even the Sons of God, are those who enter into polygamy.” (Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, p. 269.) I assume Mr. Romney repudiates Brigham Young’s twisted theology.

They also teach that God came from Kolob (a non-existent star or planet nearest to God’s throne in Mormon mythology) to have sex with the Virgin Mary who became one of his many wives. This encounter resulted in the birth of Christ! Young wrote, ”When the Virgin Mary conceived the child Jesus, the Father had begotten him in his own likeness. He was not begotten by the Holy Ghost.” (Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 1:50-51.) However, Matthew 1:20 quotes the angel as saying, “Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.”

Evidently, the Christ of the Bible is not the Christ of Mormonism. So, how can Mormons be accepted as a Christian group no matter what some loosey-goosey Evangelical leaders declare?

Glenn Beck spoke at Liberty University saying, “I am a Mormon, but I share your faith in the atonement of the Savior Jesus Christ.” But Mormons do not share the same faith in Christ. He also told the university crowd that Joseph Smith was a great man who died as a peace-loving martyr for Christ. Beck dipped his brush deep into the whitewash bucket to make that very positive but false statement about Smith.

Smith was a weirdo who believed that people living on the moon live for a thousand years! In 2008 I wrote, “Joe Smith allegedly saw visions and ‘found’ gold plates that he turned into the Book of Mormon. He defended having multiple wives and was visited by a non-existent angel. He moved west to form a communistic town to be named ‘Zion.’ He founded a bank that went belly up, was placed in jail, and killed by a mob.” Smith killed two men and wounded another before they killed him. I could have added that Smith had led a mob into town, destroyed a newspaper that had criticized him for his multiple sexual affairs, and burned the building.

No one doubts that the media would be all over a candidate who was a member of the Unification Church, Scientology, and other religious groups that have not been mainlined. Mormons have many commendable attributes including a healthy lifestyle, sincerity, family commitment, and dedication to what they believe, but they are still a cult, not as violent as some, but still a cult.

In recent years, Mormons have been accepted as “Christians” by many Evangelicals but then some Evangelicals also accept open borders, same-sex “marriage” and other ridiculous teachings. About a quarter of Americans are Evangelicals which would include a vast spectrum, although all would profess to believe and teach the Bible as the Word of God.

Romney was displeased and had a hissy when Dr. Robert Jeffress, pastor of First Baptist Church of Dallas, was asked to pray at the opening of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem. It seems Jeffress is an old-fashioned Christian of the Baptist persuasion and believes “You can’t be saved by being a Jew,” and “Mormonism is a heresy from the pit of hell.” Well, does that surprise any educated person that a Baptist would believe that? People have a right to disagree with him but that doesn’t make him wrong. And even if he were wrong, that doesn’t make him a bigot. A person can be right or wrong about an issue and be a bigot, or not be a bigot.

Romney said, “He’s [Jeffress] said the same about Islam. Such a religious bigot should not be giving the prayer that opens the United States Embassy in Jerusalem.” Hold it! Is it prima facie evidence that one is a bigot if he believes something contrary to popular opinion? And if that were a demonstrable fact, which it is not, why should the “bigot” not be tolerated? Is toleration a one-way street? Moreover, a vast number of Americans are Fundamentalists or Evangelicals and many nonaffiliated people agree with Jeffress.

Mr. Romney, would you censure or restrict Dr. Jeffress or people like him in any way?

But to cut to the chase, if Romney is so quick to question the beliefs of Christian conservatives, then we have a right to call Romney’s beliefs into question especially since he is serving in the U.S. Senate. Or is it bigotry to ask plain, personal, and penetrating questions of a progressive?

Mr. Romney, since your church clearly teaches that it will someday take over the U.S. and the world and set up a theocracy under Mormon control, will you today disagree, disavow, and disassociate yourself from that teaching and do everything within your power as a U.S. Senator to oppose that purpose?

My follow up question: If you disagree, disavow, and dissociate yourself from that teaching, how can you stay a Mormon? Moreover, if you refuse to disassociate yourself from these teachings of your church, how can you expect any sane person to trust you since you refuse to keep your oath to support and defend the U.S. Constitution?

Mr. Romney, how dare you call Dr. Jeffress a bigot when he is in the mainstream of orthodox Christianity while you are a member of an outrageous cult. At least wipe the purple Kool-Aid from your lips before condemning a major, respected Christian leader!

Romney’s shot across the bow indicates that President Trump has another Flake in the Senate.

Southern Baptist Convention Sliding into Oblivion! https://donboys.cstnews.com/southern-baptist-convention-sliding-into-oblivion https://donboys.cstnews.com/southern-baptist-convention-sliding-into-oblivion#respond Mon, 16 Jul 2018 01:47:00 +0000 http://donboys.cstnews.com/?p=2142 The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), after more than a hundred years of standing for biblical truth, has taken a left turn and is sliding into oblivion. Panic has set in since the denomination has lost over a million members since 2003! Something must be done—and in my opinion, that something, will destroy them.

The SBC has been plagued for decades with accelerating dangers that all denominations have faced. Local independent Baptist churches are having similar problems but not as pressing because they have no organizational structure. Thousands of churches have departed the convention over the years for what is perceived as a falling away from its original theological positions.

Some of the major SBC problems are female pastors, wine bibbing clergy, Calvinism, Pentecostalism, post millennialism, unbelief in their pulpits, colleges, and seminaries, the sex scandal and sacking of Frank Page, president of the SBC Executive Committee, etc.

But the crux of the matter is a weakening of biblical inerrancy. With the younger generation of clergy, it does not seem to matter what the Bible says. They are determined to take the SBC in a “new direction” even if it means the group is totally transformed into their loose, modern image. Some of the changes are an improvement such as more Hispanics (as long as they are not tokens) and more females in their organizational structure; however, that does not justify the radical departure including female pastors. Their position on sexual matters would delight the political leaders in Sodom in yesteryears.

Older, traditional SBC members are aghast, angry, and anxious as they watch the denomination that highly dedicated, educated, and selfless leaders built being destroyed by the “Young Turks.”

The next major issue that will face the SBC is the leadership of women in their bureaucracy adding to the problem of female pastors. At present time, there are about 30 SBC churches that have a female pastor. The argument is since the SBC is not a local church the usual arguments would not be germane to females in major denominational positions. Look for a female SBC president by 2020. Following that will be the acceptance of female pastors. Following that, the SBC will simply be another mainline liberal denomination.

I predict that this issue will split the SBC like an overly ripe watermelon.

Dr. Dwight McKissic, black senior pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas, admits to speaking in tongues during devotional times and is pushing very hard for Blacks and women in places of leadership in the SBC. He is campaigning to bring more women into SBC leadership and declared, “If I thought Beth Moore would accept the nomination or be agreeable to being nominated, because of her qualifications and the current context the SBC finds itself in, I would nominate her for SBC president.” Sure, that’s all the struggling denomination needs—a woman whom God speaks to directly!

Beth’s website boasts, “God recently took me into seclusion for a week and placed these instructions before me…I feel I have never been given a more serious assignment for a single night gathering in my ministry…He [God] instructed me to listen carefully as I have ever listened and He would tell me the Scriptures and the sequence to place on the screens…Our deepest desire here is that God would grace us with His presence.”

I will be very surprised if Moore does not become a major SBC leader in the next few years. After all, she’s a better preacher than many SBC and independent Baptist pastors I’ve heard! However, ability is not the criteria. The Scripture is and that’s why the convention has all these problems—a low view of the Word of God by many leaders.

Not to be dismissed is the problems that follow Dr. Russell Moore, leader of the SBC’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC). It seems Moore habitually rises each morning planning to poke a sharp stick in the eye of every Conservative in the convention. Moore is soft on homosexuality, immigration (supporting Soros-financed groups), and was an early “Never Trumper.”

The SBC’s new president, North Carolina megachurch pastor J. D. Greear, represents a definite rejection of the much touted “conservative takeover” started in 1979 by Judge Paul Pressler and Dr. Paige Patterson, former president of the SBC. The SBC overwhelmingly (almost 70%) chose Greear who is soft on homosexuality and almost everything else. He was chosen over an older Ken Hemphill, former president at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Greear’s North Carolina church gives $500,000 per year to the SBC Cooperative Program! He is the new face of Southern Baptists replacing Page Patterson, Judge Pressler, and Company. The old hardliners are out and the “Young Turks” are in.

Patterson was fired as President of Southwestern Baptist Seminary and was dumped as the SBC keynote speaker in Dallas recently. He has not reacted toward women the way his leftist brethren wanted him to do. Pressler has been accused of molesting or raping at least three boys followed by a cover-up by Patterson.

The Pressler accusations go back decades so I don’t know if he is a pervert or not. If the charges turn out to be true, then there should be a double hanging. Pressler and Bill Clinton should hang from the same tree.

As to Patterson’s guilt, it seems the charges against him are contrived or overblown or maybe totally false. The main accusation against him seems to be the advice he has given to abused women. He suggested they go slow about leaving their husband. I do to. Is the abuse physical abuse or is it yelling at her and putting her down? I would tell my daughters, leave him immediately if he gets physical.

But all these machinations seem to be normal if not very religious but all is fair in love and denominational politics. And make no mistake, this was payback against the conservatives who took over the seminaries and convention decades ago.

Greear ridiculed Dr. Robert Jeffress of First Baptist in Dallas who had Roman Catholic Sean Hannity of Fox News as a guest in a Sunday morning service. Greear said, “I think very quickly after I had grown a little disillusioned with the SBC, I found out that every other network I started to get in, there was like: They have crazy uncles in here too.”

Robert Jeffress, a crazy uncle! I am not Southern Baptist (but some of my best friends are) and I would not have invited Hannity for a church service but that is Jeffress’ business and the business of First Baptist. No one else. And nothing Jeffress has done even remotely qualifies him being called a crazy uncle.

In a message delivered in 2014, the youthful Greear said we have to “love our gay neighbor more than we love our position on sexual morality” which means you must surrender what the Bible teaches to appear loving and compassionate to the homosexual crowd. He added more gas to the fire by adding, “I cannot compromise, but I love you more than I love being right.” He is clearly saying that in a choice between loving (or more correctly, appearing to love) a homosexual and the Bible truth on the issue, he will reject the Bible truth and go with his feel-good position on perversion.

There is mass confusion about love that is destroying not only churches but homosexuals! One cannot have true love without truth. It is not love to permit a homosexual to believe that God looks upon his sin as benign or innocent. Like fornication and gluttony, perversion is wicked. For a minister of the Gospel to tell a homosexual that his perversion is not sinful is itself a perversion of truth.

The new President of the SBC may not qualify as a crazy uncle but he might as a crazy nephew!

The Apostle Paul commands us to “speak the truth in love.” Preachers who speak of “love” without truth are not lovers. One must know the truth and abide in the truth as Paul wrote in John 8:31 “If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

However, the SBC is not abiding in the truth. It has been skirting the truth for more than 50 years. While there are thousands of good, dedicated pastors in the convention, they have lost their viability, if not their voice and vote. I’m afraid in my lifetime the great SBC will be a dinosaur. Members and former members will longingly speak of the “old days” when there was excitement, enjoyment, expectation, and faithful exegesis in their church services. Now, there is a lot of noise in many churches.

The Southern Baptist Convention has cut loose its anchor and will continue to keep drifting out to sea with little hope of returning to solid ground. It will soon lose sight of land.

The demise of the SBC is one of the worst tragedies to befall America. Very sad.

Mitt Romney Attacks Baptist Pastor: Romney Must Answer for his Weird Beliefs! https://donboys.cstnews.com/mitt-romney-attacks-baptist-pastor-romney-must-answer-for-his-weird-beliefs https://donboys.cstnews.com/mitt-romney-attacks-baptist-pastor-romney-must-answer-for-his-weird-beliefs#respond Thu, 17 May 2018 13:30:41 +0000 http://donboys.cstnews.com/?p=2092 Mitt Romney is in the news again. You remember Mitt don’t you? He had plans to become President of the U.S. but they were somewhat stymied. He has lowered his sights and is willing to accept a seat in the U.S. Senate from Utah. However, he had primary opposition which caused him to stumble–again. At the Utah GOP primary, he came in second! The final candidate will be chosen in June. CBS had said of his chances to win the GOP nomination: “He is considered the overwhelming favorite to win the Senate contest.” The mainstream media was wrong—again.

As of now, Mitt is a possible candidate for the U.S. Senate, but he seems to think many Americans want to hear him pontificate on political matters. So, he pontificated on the opening of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem. Of course, he has every right to say what he believes but he and others must be reminded that while all people have a right to their opinion, not all opinions are created equal. Since Romney has questioned a leading Christian leader for his opinions, I now call into question what Romney believes.

Romney was displeased that Dr. Robert Jeffress, pastor of First Baptist Church of Dallas, was asked to pray at the opening of the U.S. Embassy.

Romney said, “He’s said the same about Islam.

But to cut to the chase, if Romney is so quick to question the beliefs of Christian conservatives, then we have a right to call Romney’s beliefs into question especially since he is hoping to serve in the U.S. Senate. Or is it bigotry to ask plain, personal, and penetrating questions of a progressive?

Mormons and Mormon leaders believe the most outrageous things imaginable. How does Romney explain the Mormon belief that “There is no salvation without accepting Joseph Smith”? That clearly means only Mormons are going to Heaven! Does Romney believe that? If that silly teaching is true then what did mankind do before the Mormons erected their Temple in Salt Lake City?

How do they explain their belief that God was first a mortal man and that any mortal man can become god? Does Romney expect to be a god some day? Just asking.

How about man living before he lived? “We lived with Heavenly Father before this life as His spirit children, and we came to earth to gain a body and to learn and grow and eventually return to Him.” (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints’ website.) This false teaching is also espoused in The Osmonds: A Testimonial of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints pp. 3-5: “We believe that we lived before coming to this earth.” Utter nonsense.

Joseph Smith believed that people live on the moon and live a thousand years! Another Mormon founder, Brigham Young (who had 55 wives) believed that the sun is inhabited! That was the sun! Maybe that is the reason Young appears to have a fried brain.

Young also wrote, “The only men who become Gods, even the Sons of God, are those who enter into polygamy.” (Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, p. 269.)

They also teach that God came from Kolob (a non-existent star or planet nearest to God’s throne in Mormon mythology) to have sex with the Virgin Mary who became one of his many wives. This encounter resulted in the birth of Christ! This was confirmed by Bruce McConkie, (major Mormon theologian, and one of the Twelve Apostles) who wrote, “For our present purposes, suffice it to say that our Lord was born of a virgin, which is fitting and proper, and also natural, since the Father of the Child was an immortal Being.” (Bruce McConkie, The Promised Messiah, p. 466.)

So, whom do you believe—Matthew or Brigham Young?

The “perfect” Book of Mormon declares that Jesus “shall be born of Mary at Jerusalem which is the land of our forefathers.” (Book of Mormon, Alma 7:10.) I think I see a problem here. Everyone knows that Christ was born in Bethlehem, so how can the Book of Mormon be a divinely inspired book if it is wrong about something as basic as the birthplace of Christ?

Mormons believe that Jesus Christ and Lucifer are brothers! Of course, they can believe anything they want but if a Mormon is running for a political office, I want to know how stable he is and what his core beliefs are.

Mormon President Hinckley said, “The traditional Christ of whom they [non-Mormons] speak is not the Christ of whom I speak.” (LDS Church News, June 20, 1998, p. 7.) The top honcho should know what his church teaches.

Mormon Apostle and General Authority until his death in 2000, Bernard P. Brockbank said, “It is true that many of the Christian churches worship a different Jesus Christ than is worshipped by the Mormons or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.” (The Ensign, May 1977, p. 26.)

Evidently, the Christ of the Bible is not the Christ of Mormonism. So, how can Mormons be accepted as a Christian group no matter what some loosey-goosey Evangelical leaders declare?

Forgiveness of sins requires faith, repentance, and baptism by an official Mormon cleric. They teach their baptism is required for eternal life. Since most people don’t get their baptism, they practice baptism for the dead in which Mormons are baptized as a substitute for those who have died without the required baptism. (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, compiled by Joseph Fielding Smith; Bruce R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, p 601.)

Mormon Glen Beck spoke at Liberty University saying, “I am a Mormon, but I share your faith in the atonement of the Savior Jesus Christ.” But Mormons do not share the same faith in Christ. He also told the university crowd that Joseph Smith was a great man who died as a peace-loving martyr for Christ. Beck dipped his brush deep into the whitewash can to make that very positive but false statement about Smith.

Furthermore, Apostle Bruce R. McConkie wrote, “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as it is now constituted is the kingdom of God on earth….The Church is not a democracy…[but] a kingdom…and the President of the Church, the mouthpiece of God on earth, is the earthly king.” (Mormon Doctrine, pp. 415-416.)

Now, are you ready for the question? Mr. Romney, since your church clearly teaches that it will someday take over the U.S. and the world and set up a theocracy under Mormon control, will you today disagree, disavow, and disassociate yourself from that teaching and do everything within your power as a U.S. Senator (if elected) to oppose that purpose?

My follow up question: If you disagree, disavow, and dissociate yourself from that teaching, how can you stay a Mormon? Moreover, if you refuse to disassociate yourself from these teachings of your church, how can you expect any sane person to vote for you?

Mr. Romney, how dare you call Dr. Jeffress a bigot when he is in the mainstream of orthodox Christianity while you are a member of an outrageous cult that peddles very toxic Kool-Aid!

At least wipe the purple Kool-Aid from your lips before condemning a major, respected Christian leader!
