Judge Moore – Don Boys https://donboys.cstnews.com Common Sense for Today Sun, 05 Mar 2023 04:46:50 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=4.6.29 Whom Do You Trust: A Principled Judge or Delayed Accusers? https://donboys.cstnews.com/whom-do-you-trust-a-principled-judge-or-delayed-accusers https://donboys.cstnews.com/whom-do-you-trust-a-principled-judge-or-delayed-accusers#respond Fri, 17 Nov 2017 04:20:17 +0000 http://donboys.cstnews.com/?p=1966 I detest unfairness and hypocrisy and I have seen boatloads of both in the Judge Roy Moore issue. Without knowing all the facts, as only Moore and his accusers know, I have decided to believe a man who has had a lifetime of dedicated service to people while standing upon the rock of Truth.

It’s rather simple: either Moore is guilty or not. If he molested, not dated, but molested teen girls when he was an adult then he should recognize it as sin, repent of it, refuse to do again and do restitution–apologize to the women involved and to Americans for lying to us about it. Then he should throw himself upon the good will of Alabama voters. If he did that, I think he could still win! After all, doesn’t everyone believe in personal redemption?

No sane person believes any member of Congress could pass the test demanded of Moore. If we could somehow remove all members of Congress who were sexually inappropriate in their younger years, the two chambers of Congress would be as empty as a long-deserted old barn with “See Rock City” barely visible on its side.

“There’s a special place in hell for people who prey on children,” Ivanka Trump told the AP, adding, “I’ve yet to see a valid explanation, and I have no reason to doubt the victims’ accounts.” I will remind Ivanka that there is a place in Hell for liars also. She’s “yet to see a valid explanation” for the accusations but I’ve seen no reason to believe the belated charges.

Just today, an accusation of sexual molestation was made against Senator Al Franken that allegedly happened in his pre-senate days. Will the hypocrites in Congress, to be consistent, demand he be drummed out of the senate? Don’t count on it. They will look but they won’t cut him loose.

I am shocked that even conservative senators have chosen to believe charges against Moore which cannot be proved. Don’t they know that the same kind of accusations could be made against them in the future? Do they now believe in presumptive guilt rather than presumptive innocence? We had better realize that when we accept unsupported accusations against anyone, we are stepping on a slippery slope and will slide into a bottomless pit filled with king cobras.

If Moore is innocent, and I believe he is, then he should fight valiantly for a senate seat. He should put on his armor, mount his steed, and do battle from Huntsville to Mobile. He should remind the voters that anyone can accuse anyone of anything and the charges cannot be substantiated. Moreover, this week Darrel Nelson, the stepson of the latest accuser, Beverly Young Nelson said, “the allegations are all lies.” Nelson says he supports Moore 100%!

Moore has been very controversial all his adult life and involved in many “hot” issues, yet these accusations just happened to be revealed a few weeks before his election! Come on, no honest, balanced, fair-minded person could believe that was unplanned. The charges and the timing are about as accidental and unplanned as the Rose Bowl Parade.

The only question is who sired the charges, Republicans or Democrats. By the way, I do believe in conspiracies, as anyone does who knows history.

Furthermore, let me point out the liberal hypocrisy in this matter. Many have made much of Moore dating teenagers and it was not wise. I would not have permitted my daughters to do that, but it is one thing to date a girl and another thing to molest her. So, dating teenagers is not an indictable offense. It was crass but not criminal.

Now we are told that the teens were vulnerable and he was a predator, but that has only been alleged. Moreover, two of the young women admitted that their mothers were very pleased they were dating Moore. He was considered a “catch.”

Moreover, it was common, especially in the south, for girls to date at a young age, and even marry very young. It was common to be married by 19 so they would be dating long before that age. This is true in history. According to Jewish customs, a young woman became betrothed to a young man as early as 12 years of age, although the consummation of their marriage did not happen until they were legally married in a few months or even years.

The Zondervan Pictorial Encyclopedia of the Bible points out, “It appears that both boys and girls were married very young. Later [after the New Testament period] the rabbis fixed the minimum age for marriage at twelve for girls and thirteen for boys.”

Jewish boys were expected to marry at sixteen or seventeen. In the Roman Empire, boys wore a white toga trimmed in red as a symbol of youth; however, at 14 to 17 years of age, they threw off the red and white toga and wore the pure white toga of a Roman man.

Screaming feminists have always insisted that women don’t need protection; after all, they can do anything a man can do–you know–spit, smoke, and swear. But now we are told that the teens Moore dated were violated just by the dating! Ladies, you can’t have it both ways. You told us that females are not helpless creatures who need doors opened for them or to be treated as breakable objects. Feminists have demanded that prostitution should be legal and the age of consent should be lowered because females have a right to control their own bodies. Therefore, lower the age of sexual consent.

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg wrote (with a feminist co-author) Sex Bias in the U.S. Code in 1977, demanding the reduction of the age of consent for sexual acts to persons who are “less than 12 years old.” She also wanted laws against bigamy, prostitution, the Mann Act, women in combat, and segregated prisons be revoked. She also wanted government-funded comprehensive child care and the traditional family concept of husband as breadwinner and wife as homemaker to be eliminated. Ruthie is a real sweetheart and promoter of female equality. She was paid with federal funds to write the book. Wonder if I could get paid by the government for writing my books.

The age of consent in Canada is 16 and, in Mexico, it is 12. In the various states, it is between 16 and 18. But Ginsburg wants girls to have the right to legal sex at less than 12 years of age! Yet teen girls were in danger when dating Moore even though he, in southern tradition, asked permission of their mothers! I don’t think Moore is a danger to morality: Ginsburg is the danger.

While Moore showed a lack of wisdom in dating young girls, he has proved in his adult life to make wise, yet very difficult, principled decisions. Like all of us, he learned from his past.

If Moore wins the Senate seat, he should walk into the senate chamber like a king going to his throne. Then he should thank Alabamians for sending him there and give his philosophy of serving. He should say he will vote with Republicans when they are right and with Democrats when they are right–maybe about every blue moon. Then he should give his reasons why he will vote for or against a proposed bill–the same reasons I gave when I was elected to the Indiana House of Representatives. Each bill must meet these standards: Is it Constitutional? Is it family friendly? Do we really need this bill? Can we afford this bill? Will this bill expand government control and bigger government? I also added, “Is it biblical?” but then I’m shameless.

So most of his votes will be no, reminiscent of Senator Jesse Helms, known as Senator No.

While the Republicans and Democrats sit grinding their teeth, he should say that a southern gentleman never goes where he is not wanted and since the GOP has explicitly said they do not want him, that he will henceforth resign from the Republican Party! He will be an Independent. He won’t wait for the GOP to cast him out of their party. He will take the principled position of leaving the Grand Old Progressives to slowly decay, dwindle, decline, and die a natural death.

By his informed, balanced, and conservative record, he will show the nation what a true statesman is–since statesmen are as scarce in Washington as white dinosaurs in Kentucky.

If Moore wins the senate seat and is expelled from the senate for what he allegedly did 40 years ago, then every member of Congress will suffer many sleepless nights. What senator wants to set the precedent of being judged for his past sins? I mean, the senators may be cowardly, crass, crude, and cranky but they are not stupid. Well, all of them aren’t.

Americans will realize that we have at least one senator dedicated to truth who is as independent as a hog on ice.

Has Congress Tolerated Sexual Predators in their Membership? https://donboys.cstnews.com/has-congress-tolerated-sexual-predators-in-their-membership https://donboys.cstnews.com/has-congress-tolerated-sexual-predators-in-their-membership#comments Wed, 15 Nov 2017 00:21:14 +0000 http://donboys.cstnews.com/?p=1964 Steven Law, chief executive of the GOP Senate Leadership Fund declared, “There is no place in our party for sexual predators.”

Well, that is not exactly true. I checked the record and was shocked and surprised by the sexual scandals I found since 1900. There have been 67 sexual scandals in the House and Senate, and the White House. It also includes a U.S. Supreme Court Justice–William Douglas (a Democrat) while married to his third wife was known to pursue other women! That was very scandalous in the 1960s. He was also accused of molesting a flight attendant in his judicial chambers. That was a Supreme Court Justice!

Of the 67 sexual scandals, 28 were Democrats and 43 were Republicans! I was shocked. So, the Republicans have made room for sexual predators such as Congressmen Donald Lukens (sex with a16-year-old girl); Robert Bauman (soliciting sex from a teenage male prostitute); Jon Hinson (performing oral sex on a male employee of the Library of Congress); Dan Crane (sex with a teenage girl); Mark Foley (sent sexually explicit emails to teenage male congressional pages); and Denny Hastert (sexually involved with young males while coaching them as a young man).

GOP sexual scandals that did not involve children were also numerous starting with President Warren Harding who had affairs with two women during the 1910s and early 1920s; Congressman Dan Burton (a friend with whom I served in the Indiana House) fathered a child out of wedlock in the 1980s; Congressman John Schmitz, former leader of the John Birch Society who admitted to having a second family whom he refused to support; Senator Robert Packwood resigned after 29 women accused him of sexual abuse; Senator Larry Craig resigned after soliciting male sex in a restroom; Congressman Ken Calvert was involved with a prostitute; Congresswoman Helen Chenoweth-Hage admitted to a six-year affair with a married man; Congressman Bob Barr had an affair while married to his second wife; Congressman Robert Livingston had extramarital affairs; Congressman Henry Hyde admitted an extramarital sexual affair before he was elected to the House; Senator Peter Domenici admitted to fathering a son outside his marriage; Senator Strom Thurmond long before his election fathered a son with a black woman who worked for his family.

Some would insist on adding George H. W. Bush and Donald Trump to the list.

If all the Republicans disassociating themselves from Judge Moore are so principled, how can they live with fellow-members presently in Congress in both parties who live like Ahab and Jezebel? Did the now serving Republicans and Democrats demand the same standard of previous felons such as Bill Clinton? Must I go through the litany of charges again Clinton? His assault of Paula Jones, his rape of Juanita Broaddrick, his abuse of power with Monica Lewinski, and many others. Plus his perjury. How could anyone serve with such a dirt bag who had abused so many women? How could they sit with him, smile, shake his hand, and treat him like a civilized person when he was a barbarian? Principled people don’t do that. They bestow indignation equally upon all offenders.

But it gets worse in that there were perverts in the House such as Barney Frank and Gerry Studds. Frank was the first man to “come out of the closet” as a member of Congress and later married his male lover while still a U.S. Congressman! Frank hired Steve Gobie, a male prostitute who moved in with him working as an aide, housekeeper, and driver–as well as unspecified duties! While living with Frank, Gobie operated a male escort service out of Frank’s apartment! The House Ethics Committee investigated the matter and Frank was reprimanded for fixing 33 of Gobie’s parking tickets. Wow, he was reprimanded!

Despite the scandal, the citizens of Massachusetts sent the pervert back to Congress with 66% of the votes! Frank later “married” Jim Ready. Question: can anyone provide a statement by McConnell or McCain demanding that Frank be removed from Congress? Don’t waste your time looking. Courageous Congressman William E. Dannemeyer of California spoke against keeping Frank in Congress.

Another Massachusetts Congressman Gerry Studds (first elected in 1972) was another homosexual who precipitated another scandal in 1983. Studds was censored for having sexual relations with 17-year-old congressional pages, although he defended his affairs because they were “consensual.” He refused to apologize or resign his seat. Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich called for the expulsion of Studds from the House but played the hypocrite. Newt later resigned from the House after admitting in 1998 to having had an affair with a staffer while he was married to his second wife, and at the same time, he was leading the impeachment of Bill Clinton for perjury regarding an affair with Monica Lewinsky! Crusaders must be clean!

Studds did not resign or apologize and was reelected to the House until his retirement in 1997. What’s wrong with those people in Massachusetts?

At least the Republican felons either resigned or were forced out of office. Not the Democrats.

But the most disgusting example was that of Senator Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts who admitted to numerous and barely concealed extramarital affairs plus notorious public incidents, “including public sex in 1985 and 1987 at La Brasserie restaurant in Washington D.C.”

Kennedy fell the lowest with his drunken party at Chappaquiddick in 1969. Ted took a young woman away from the party and he drove off a bridge while drunk. The young woman drowned. Kennedy refused to report the incident until the next day after her body was recovered. Kennedy pleaded guilty to a charge of leaving the scene of an accident and later received a two-month suspended sentence! The court surely would not want to be guilty of overkill in their sentence for adultery, driving while drunk, leaving the scene of an accident and the death of Mary Jo Kopechne!

The inquest into the death of Mary Jo was done in secret but to his credit the presiding judge declared that some aspects of Kennedy’s story were not true and his negligent driving “appears to have contributed” to her death.

Well, surely the House and Senate and the President demanded he be removed from the Senate. Nope and he was reelected many times after that tragedy. Kennedy was greeted and treated like a gentleman when he was a drunken repeat adulterer responsible for the death of a young woman. Why didn’t the Senate–to a man–demand his expulsion? How could McConnell and McCain serve with him and call him the “gentleman from Massachusetts”?

When McCain, McConnell, and other hypocrites got to Congress, they had no qualms working with and socializing with the likes of Kennedy, Frank, Studds, etc. While McConnell stripped Senator Craig of his committee positions for homosexual solicitation, he did not try to force him to resign the senate. Why not? Where was his righteous indignation at that time?

Judge Roy Moore will be a lot of fun in the Senate as he opposes the establishment. He will be hated by members of both parties and loved by patriots everywhere. For sure, he will cause constant heartburn to the Republican establishment.

I shared the speaking platform with Moore at a national preachers’ conference in Indianapolis a few years ago but we are not personal friends; however, I believe he is telling the truth since he has made so many principled decisions during his life that cost him dearly.

Moreover, I am asking Alabama pastors to actively support him by sending this column to all their members. Each pastor will tell his members that he can’t speak for the church officially about supporting candidates but he can inform them of his choice. The church van could even take people to the polls–as long as they take Democrats and Republicans.

Do it pastors. Help elect a man who will stand for truth and righteousness.

It is evident that our politicians are both the bravest of the brave and the vilest of the vile–and too many pastors preach precepts, purity, and principle yet refuse to take a stand when it really matters. Now is the time to take that stand.

Judge Roy Moore and Sanctimonious Hypocrites in Congress! https://donboys.cstnews.com/judge-roy-moore-and-sanctimonious-hypocrites-in-congress https://donboys.cstnews.com/judge-roy-moore-and-sanctimonious-hypocrites-in-congress#respond Sat, 11 Nov 2017 05:29:38 +0000 http://donboys.cstnews.com/?p=1962 The shrieking mob running through village streets carrying pitchforks and flaming torches is looking for someone, anyone to hunt, harry, and harass. Probably most of the sexual predators ending up being tarred and feathered deserve it from Spacey to Weinstein to Segal. But, the mob is intoxicated and will only be satisfied with a higher level victim–a right wing, Christian, senatorial candidate–Roy Moore of Alabama! To make it worse, Moore is a potential senator who will not go along with the establishment. The establishment requires his defeat at any cost in the special election Dec. 12, of this year.

It is charged that Moore was indiscreet with some teenagers when he was in his 30s and unmarried, or so the story goes. I’m not sure if the script was written in Hollywood or in the inner sanctum of Washington, D.C. It is unlikely the authors are Democrats although they are very experienced with fake news. However, this script probably came out of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (or similar people) that have cut off funds for Moore’s campaign.

Moore is known mostly for being removed twice as chief justice of the Alabama State Supreme Court in 2003 for refusing to take down a Ten Commandments monument from the Alabama judicial building, Then in 2016 he was removed for telling state judges not to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples after the U.S. Supreme Court legalized “gay” marriage. Most of his controversial decisions were highly principled ones that cost him dearly; so with a record like that, I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Jerry Falwell, President of Liberty University, declared–”It comes down to a question who is more credible in the eyes of the voters — the candidate or the accuser….And I believe the judge is telling the truth.” I agree with Falwell.

The charges against Moore are about 40 years old. Every day a woman hesitates in making charges lessens their influence and importance. It is also very telling as to the timing: only a few weeks away from one of the most important senatorial elections in our history!

We are expected to believe that a Washington Post reporter stumbled over information that Moore “sought relationships with teenage girls” when he was in his 30s and single. Over the next three weeks, two reporters chased down four women who were “initially reluctant to speak publicly.” Well, yes, I would think decades of silence qualifies as being reluctant but after “multiple interviews” the women were convinced to report their “interactions with Moore.”

Of the four accusers, it is noteworthy that only one makes any real charges. The other three women admit that Moore kissed them and “they did not have intercourse.” One accuser, Gloria Thacker Deason, said her mother thought Moore “was good husband material.”

Debbie Wesson Gibson said when she told her mother that she was dating Moore, she replied, “I’d say you were the luckiest girl in the world.”

Doesn’t sound very ominous to me. At least the mothers didn’t think so.

Leigh Corfman was a 14-year-old girl who said Moore took her to his home and he allegedly gave her alcohol. They kissed then she got nervous and asked him to take her home–which he did. They dated again, so evidently she was not too nervous and scared. She was lying on a blanket on the floor and Moore came into the room wearing “tight white” underwear. She charges that Moore kissed her and touched her through her bra and underpants then guided her hand toward his underwear and she pulled back.

At that point, she asked to be taken home–which he did! Isn’t it great to have a child molester with manners! Moore, the molester with manners! She never filed a complaint but now wants the world to know how much she suffered. She did not tell her story–until now–because she had three divorces and three bankruptcies and people might not believe. You think?

It must be emphasized that none of the women say that Moore forced them into any kind of relationship or sexual contact. So, whatever happened, if anything, was consensual. While that doesn’t justify any criminal or immoral behavior, it was not forced.

“These allegations are completely false and are a desperate political attack by the National Democrat Party and the Washington Post on this campaign,” Moore, now 70, said. Well, I’m convinced that it is the Republicans behind this. But who knows? It will have the same affect.

Whoever is directing this witch hunt is determined to bring down a good man. Leftists don’t usually hunt witches but with Moore and Trump they would make exceptions. It has been historic that bad men delight in destroying good men. Makes them feel better and less low-life.

I am willing to concede that the charges may be true; after all, it is possible, however improbable they may be. I am thoroughly convinced that if all members of congress were held to the strict standard they are demanding of Moore–putting them under the spotlight when they were single and young–there would be two very empty chambers on the Hill. It seems hypocrisy is a necessary ingredient to be a politician these days.

Let me pursue the hypocrisy thread. No one likes a hypocrite in any area of life and sanctimonious hypocrites are the worst kind. Note that members of the GOP reacted quickly to the Moore allegations–allegations that have not been proved. And while every female should be heard, they should not be believed if they can’t be supported with facts.

But one of the Senate’s leading hypocrites John McCain, true to form said, “The allegations against Roy Moore are deeply disturbing and disqualifying. He should immediately step aside and allow the people of Alabama to elect a candidate they can be proud of.” Others followed McCain with basically the same response. Jeff Flake, David Perdue, John Thune, Lisa Murkowski, Cory Gardner, Richard C. Shelby (senator from Alabama!), and Patrick J. Toomey called on Moore to step aside as well without couching their statement with “if true” language.

President Trump said he was convinced Moore would do the right thing. Vice President Pence also “found the allegations in the story disturbing and believes, if true, this would disqualify anyone from serving in office.”

McConnell confidant Josh Holmes said, “If it’s true, the Republican Party doesn’t have any place for pedophiles, and he should step down immediately.” However, McConnell doesn’t have a record of being queasy about working with adulterers, fornicators, homosexuals, pedophiles, and drunks in the Congress. When did McConnell become so fastidious about his associates?

Judge Moore is a man of character, courage, and commitment and should be sent to the U.S. Senate where he will be as out of place as a diabetic football player at a Sugar Bowl game.
