Mormon – Don Boys https://donboys.cstnews.com Common Sense for Today Sun, 05 Mar 2023 04:46:50 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=4.6.29 Mitt Romney Fired a Shot Over Trump’s Ship of State! https://donboys.cstnews.com/mitt-romney-fired-a-shot-over-trumps-ship-of-state https://donboys.cstnews.com/mitt-romney-fired-a-shot-over-trumps-ship-of-state#respond Fri, 04 Jan 2019 15:57:38 +0000 http://donboys.cstnews.com/?p=2265 A shot across the bow of a ship is a naval practice of firing a warning shot over another ship to inform an enemy that the shooter plans to fight so surrender might be considered. In non-naval parlance, it means, “I’m not to be messed with,” or a “desire to compete or dominate.”

Mitt Romney, just before being sworn in as U.S. Senator from Utah, fired a shot across the bow of Trump’s Ship of State. Mitt (the former liberal governor of the Peoples’ Republic of Massachusetts, failed presidential candidate, and now senator from Utah) fired his shot from an op-ed in the Washington Post in the December 24, 2018 online edition. He charged, “the president has not risen to the mantle of the office.” In a March 2016 speech, he called Trump a “phony” and a “fraud.”

Mitt exposed his internationalism when he said, “America is strongest when our arms are linked with other nations. We want a unified and strong Europe, not a disintegrating union.” No, we don’t need to be entangled with foreign powers but cooperate with them when our best interest requires it. It is treason to surrender any U.S. national sovereignty or authority or bow to any foreign power. In other words: America first!

Romney added, “Trump’s words and actions have caused dismay around the world.” No, Trump’s words and actions have caused dismay to the Globalists but delight to freedom loving and independent minded world leaders. I remind Mitt that Trump “copycats” have risen in Italy, Brazil, Hungary, Serbia, the Netherlands, Austria, and Poland, with populist stirrings in Germany, England, and France. Trump’s election and stand have caused political leaders in other nations to take a stand for their own nation, not the European Union. Such independent leaders who insist on putting their nation first keep the Globalists up all night with perpetual heartburn.

Since Romney has thrust himself into the spotlight again (and criticizing Trump guarantees him bookings on major television shows and op-ed opportunities), he has called attention to his own beliefs, actions, and character.

Romney is a Mormon which he has a right to be but we have a right and duty to question how his beliefs might affect his votes in the senate. After all, a member of Jim Jones’ cult would have to face questions about sexual abuse of women and children and the socialism (that turned out to be Communism). It would be irresponsible not to inquire into what a candidate believed if he were a member of the Jones’ cult. Of course, there was a big difference in the cult of Jim Jones and the Mormon cult. But a cult is a cult is a cult.

It would be negligent for citizens not to inquire into a candidate’s Mennonite religion since Mennonites are known for taking a stand against war. That belief could impact millions of people and the safety and future of America. So we will question how a Mennonite’s pacifism might affect America.

A Hassidic Jewish candidate for high office should be asked: “Since your religion forbids you to work or drive on the Sabbath, what would you do in event of a major domestic or foreign conflict when a quick response is essential? Will you be in the senate or the synagogue during a Sabbath attack?

It is unthinkable that a member of a Christian Identity Church, known for white supremacy views, would not be questioned about the church’s stand on Blacks and other minorities.

Normally, it is no one’s business what a candidate believes no matter how weird and bizarre the beliefs may be. It is not unconstitutional to be weird. That is obvious when one looks closely at the U.S. Congress. But it is germane if those bizarre beliefs might impact the nation. That is the issue.

The following Mormon doctrines demand some answers from Senator Romney:

Senator Romney, do you believe that one day you will be a god and if so, could that not be a dangerous concept to hold as a leader in the U.S. Senate? After all, a supreme being cannot make mistakes and is not answerable to any person or nation. When will you become a god? Is that process taking place at this time?

Do you believe that Kolob is an actual planet (star) where a day lasts 1000 years? Do you believe that God created many worlds that are inhabited? That could easily affect your attitude toward U.S. space exploration.

The First President of the Mormons is said to speak for God so would you be willing to refuse one of his commands that could impact our nation negatively?

Since Mormons believe “There is no salvation without accepting Joseph Smith,” how will that impact your votes dealing with religious freedom? If that silly teaching is true then what did mankind do before the Mormons erected their Temple in Salt Lake City?

Mormon founder, Brigham Young (who had 55 wives) believed that the sun is inhabited! That was the sun! Maybe that is the reason Young appeared to have a fried brain. He also wrote, “The only men who become Gods, even the Sons of God, are those who enter into polygamy.” (Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, p. 269.) I assume Mr. Romney repudiates Brigham Young’s twisted theology.

They also teach that God came from Kolob (a non-existent star or planet nearest to God’s throne in Mormon mythology) to have sex with the Virgin Mary who became one of his many wives. This encounter resulted in the birth of Christ! Young wrote, ”When the Virgin Mary conceived the child Jesus, the Father had begotten him in his own likeness. He was not begotten by the Holy Ghost.” (Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 1:50-51.) However, Matthew 1:20 quotes the angel as saying, “Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.”

Evidently, the Christ of the Bible is not the Christ of Mormonism. So, how can Mormons be accepted as a Christian group no matter what some loosey-goosey Evangelical leaders declare?

Glenn Beck spoke at Liberty University saying, “I am a Mormon, but I share your faith in the atonement of the Savior Jesus Christ.” But Mormons do not share the same faith in Christ. He also told the university crowd that Joseph Smith was a great man who died as a peace-loving martyr for Christ. Beck dipped his brush deep into the whitewash bucket to make that very positive but false statement about Smith.

Smith was a weirdo who believed that people living on the moon live for a thousand years! In 2008 I wrote, “Joe Smith allegedly saw visions and ‘found’ gold plates that he turned into the Book of Mormon. He defended having multiple wives and was visited by a non-existent angel. He moved west to form a communistic town to be named ‘Zion.’ He founded a bank that went belly up, was placed in jail, and killed by a mob.” Smith killed two men and wounded another before they killed him. I could have added that Smith had led a mob into town, destroyed a newspaper that had criticized him for his multiple sexual affairs, and burned the building.

No one doubts that the media would be all over a candidate who was a member of the Unification Church, Scientology, and other religious groups that have not been mainlined. Mormons have many commendable attributes including a healthy lifestyle, sincerity, family commitment, and dedication to what they believe, but they are still a cult, not as violent as some, but still a cult.

In recent years, Mormons have been accepted as “Christians” by many Evangelicals but then some Evangelicals also accept open borders, same-sex “marriage” and other ridiculous teachings. About a quarter of Americans are Evangelicals which would include a vast spectrum, although all would profess to believe and teach the Bible as the Word of God.

Romney was displeased and had a hissy when Dr. Robert Jeffress, pastor of First Baptist Church of Dallas, was asked to pray at the opening of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem. It seems Jeffress is an old-fashioned Christian of the Baptist persuasion and believes “You can’t be saved by being a Jew,” and “Mormonism is a heresy from the pit of hell.” Well, does that surprise any educated person that a Baptist would believe that? People have a right to disagree with him but that doesn’t make him wrong. And even if he were wrong, that doesn’t make him a bigot. A person can be right or wrong about an issue and be a bigot, or not be a bigot.

Romney said, “He’s [Jeffress] said the same about Islam. Such a religious bigot should not be giving the prayer that opens the United States Embassy in Jerusalem.” Hold it! Is it prima facie evidence that one is a bigot if he believes something contrary to popular opinion? And if that were a demonstrable fact, which it is not, why should the “bigot” not be tolerated? Is toleration a one-way street? Moreover, a vast number of Americans are Fundamentalists or Evangelicals and many nonaffiliated people agree with Jeffress.

Mr. Romney, would you censure or restrict Dr. Jeffress or people like him in any way?

But to cut to the chase, if Romney is so quick to question the beliefs of Christian conservatives, then we have a right to call Romney’s beliefs into question especially since he is serving in the U.S. Senate. Or is it bigotry to ask plain, personal, and penetrating questions of a progressive?

Mr. Romney, since your church clearly teaches that it will someday take over the U.S. and the world and set up a theocracy under Mormon control, will you today disagree, disavow, and disassociate yourself from that teaching and do everything within your power as a U.S. Senator to oppose that purpose?

My follow up question: If you disagree, disavow, and dissociate yourself from that teaching, how can you stay a Mormon? Moreover, if you refuse to disassociate yourself from these teachings of your church, how can you expect any sane person to trust you since you refuse to keep your oath to support and defend the U.S. Constitution?

Mr. Romney, how dare you call Dr. Jeffress a bigot when he is in the mainstream of orthodox Christianity while you are a member of an outrageous cult. At least wipe the purple Kool-Aid from your lips before condemning a major, respected Christian leader!

Romney’s shot across the bow indicates that President Trump has another Flake in the Senate.

Biblical Marriage, Not Polygamy, Polyandry, Polyamory, Promiscuity or Perversion is Acceptable! https://donboys.cstnews.com/biblical-marriage-not-polygamy-polyandry-polyamory-promiscuity-or-perversion-is-acceptable https://donboys.cstnews.com/biblical-marriage-not-polygamy-polyandry-polyamory-promiscuity-or-perversion-is-acceptable#comments Fri, 10 Jul 2015 00:16:25 +0000 http://donboys.cstnews.com/?p=1154 In Cana of Galilee the marriage feast lasted three days and Christ put His blessings upon it and the importance of His appearance cannot be emphasized too much for us today. However, neither government nor religious institutions were involved. For Christian marriage requirements I should add Christ to consent, commitment, consummation, and communication.

The Bible teaches that a wife is a help meet to her husband (not a slave, servant, or subject) and he is to cleave unto her protecting her with his life if necessary. Since the Garden of Eden he battled the bugs, beetles, and briars to provide food to eat, and she has provided him children, many children, especially boys. In that day his word was law and binding on wife and children, and if she disagreed with him, she did so discreetly. In I Samuel 25, Abigail did not confront her husband Nabal when he acted a fool in relationship to King David. She was a woman “of good understanding, and a beautiful countenance” and she used discretion in disagreeing with her husband. A wife is a fool if she disparages, denigrates, or even disagrees with her husband in the presence of others. It could destroy him and the marriage.

While the Bible clearly provides the pattern for a solid, successful, and spiritual home life, there have been many attempts to second guess God or to suggest that His way is too restrictive. It started early in man’s history in Genesis 4 when Lamech took two wives. (He was also a killer.) Later even Abraham took concubines and it has been going downhill ever since. While God permitted plural marriages in the Old Testament, He never endorsed them. He gave mankind the pattern for the family in Genesis when He provided one wife for Adam. In fact, there are only 15 examples of polygamy up to the time of Solomon and only four or five after that to the time of Christ!

Various societies have tried multiple wives such as the Mormons in the U.S. They practiced polygamy until it was outlawed although some fringe Mormons out west still illegally practice polygamy.

Many people would ask: “Why would polygamy be attractive to people since many men find it a challenge to take care of one woman?” Through the centuries it would have been the scarcity of men as a result of wars resulting in numerous unmarried females, the desire for more offspring, a barren wife, cementing political units, and other reasons but probably the main reason is common, everyday lust on the part of men.

There is even a warped, wacky, worldly group that promotes polygamy among Bible-believing Christians as a Scriptural way of life! Their website defines itself “as a Christ-centered, Spirit-led, Scripture-believing” organization. Even though the focus is about Christian Polygamy, the Gospel of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is still held as “above all else.” They are a parachurch group that has the interest in promoting polygamy among Christian churches as their only motivation. They go to extremes to disassociate themselves from Mormon polygamy.
Christ made it clear that polygamy was not acceptable in Matthew 19:3-9; Mark 10:1-2; and Luke 16:18. It is amazing how men can justify anything if they play around with it long enough.

Another form of “family” is the union where multiple men live with one woman: polyandry. Polyandry is fairly common in the animal kingdom, and it has been practiced at various times by a considerable number of people or tribes. It existed among the primitive Arabs, the early American Indians, the Hottentots, and the inhabitants of India, Ceylon, and New Zealand. Along India’s Malabar Coast a female is permitted to marry several men if they are of equal or superior rank, while in Tibet, a woman may marry the eldest brother of a family and get all his brothers in the deal. It was common in polyandrous marriages for all the husbands to be brothers with the original husband being the top honcho or number one husband. He had more privileges than the others.

Polyamory is a simultaneous and multiple sexual relationships that has been practiced in various cults and some religious groups.

Other individuals don’t pretend to have a formal family arrangement but sleep with anyone of the opposite sex assuming they are at room temperature: promiscuity. The number of people, young and old, living a promiscuous life is shocking and the rise in STDs is a sure indication.

Still more shocking are those living in perversion or as some call it, same-sex “marriage.” The Bible calls it sodomy. So do I.

God’s plan is simple and it works: a man is to marry a woman and spend the rest of his life trying to make her the happiest person in the world. He is to provide, protect, and promote her wellbeing. He is to cherish her and be physically, mentally, and spiritually faithful to her until the undertaker slams the lid on his casket.

The wife is to meet her husband’s needs–even desires, keep a clean home, produce a brood of well-behaved children who will grow up to produce loving, obedient, kind grandchildren. She will obey him and treat him like a king knowing that he in turn will treat her like a queen.

With the passage of the years and the addition of twenty or thirty pounds and his hair turning gray (or turning loose) they will grow old together still in love and more committed than ever. The flame will still be burning and while there may be no danger of setting the woods on fire, that’s alright too.

This is sure: the Bible never condones multiply wives, concubines, or prostitutes nor does it give government the authority to approve marriages.

This Baptist Fundamentalist Supports Romney for President! https://donboys.cstnews.com/this-baptist-fundamentalist-supports-romney-for-president https://donboys.cstnews.com/this-baptist-fundamentalist-supports-romney-for-president#comments Wed, 31 Oct 2012 03:47:11 +0000 http://donboys.cstnews.com/?p=169 In 1960, I opposed Jack Kennedy for President because I liked Nixon’s policy positions much better and I had some concern for Kennedy’s Roman Catholicism. The media non-thinkers called us “bigots” who had that concern; but a moron knows that what a man believes will affect his actions as President. It is amazing that anyone would disagree with that. When Kennedy was elected, he did not send a telegram (remember those?) to the Pope telling him to pack for his move to America and his office in the White House would be ready for him. Of course, we did not think the pope would be coming to America but how would the new president be politically influenced by his religion? It was a very legitimate question. A deeply held religious belief will always influence a person’s actions and decisions.

President Harry Truman was a Baptist, but not a very good one; however, what he learned from his church, his grandmother, and his Bible sure affected millions of people on earth, especially Israel. When Israel declared itself a nation on May 14, 1948, Truman was the first world leader to recognize the new state (within eleven minutes of its birth!) against the advice of all his advisors except one. He did it knowing that leading Democrats and most of his close advisors and both the State and War Departments (remember that?) were against the recognition. His religion formed his decision and impacted the world. Yet fools tell us a man’s religion doesn’t matter!

Now we come to Romney. He is a Mormon and has every right to believe what he chooses. Remember that his family is and has been Mormon for generations. Of course Mormonism is a cult, and Billy Graham was way off base when he tried to “uncult” it. Neither Graham, nor anyone else, has the authority to do that. Mormonism has always been identified as a cult by even mushy Christians and I’m not sure how necessary it is to point out some of their beliefs. But I will.

Mormons believe that any human can become a god, and they teach that Adam was actually God who took on a body and this Adam-God (Michael the Archangel) had a physical sexual relationship with the Virgin Mary producing the baby Jesus (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 4, p. 218, 1857). Another bizarre doctrine of the Mormons is that Satan and Jesus are brothers. Additionally, all Mormons will have their own planets to populate with their numerous wives! While those are considered weird beliefs, they would cause no harm to our nation.

No doubt Graham’s promotion of Romney gave a clear signal for all Christians to vote for Romney. I am delighted with that result while I am dismayed that Christians would rally to a candidate simply because Graham supports him. That is the herd instinct that I have been so critical of in others. Many Christians have enormous respect for Graham’s worldwide ministry. While I respect his early preaching, clean life, and punctilious financial record, I have always disagreed with his willingness to accept support from outspoken unbelieving ministers, including Roman Catholics, in his city-wide campaigns. Most Christians will disagree with me, even questioning my motives, but I can live with that.

Christians should be informed on the issues and the Bible. No informed Christian can vote for Obama for many, many reasons. He is a compulsive liar, a man who can tell four lies in a sentence of five words–like Bill Clinton. Obama is a Muslim sympathizer (at least) who has not repudiated Sharia law. In fact, he has been unable to say, “Muslim terrorist” as if it is an untrue statement. He bows to Muslim leaders and betrays Christians, kissing our foes and kicking our friends. He is a strong advocate of abortion on demand funded by taxpayer dollars. Then he hit the bottom when he decided to publicly champion same-sex marriage.

Black Christians are fleeing Obama because of the homosexual issue. They were thrilled to have a Black in the Oval Office but cannot support him further because he climbed into bed with the perverts. Those black leaders should be congratulated for their courage. I think they should have refused to vote for him at any time under any circumstances, but that’s another matter.

It is neither fair nor accurate to compare Romney with loony Communist nuts like Jim Jones or the cultist David Koresh who was shot and incinerated along with 54 adults and 28 children by the U.S. Government for their cultic beliefs. Being weird or cultic does not justify federal murder of U.S. citizens.

Romney believes some weird things; however, he will not be our pastor, but our president. I think he is a man of character, totally honest, very intelligent, a hard worker, with unusual experiences, a strong family man, moderately conservative–all that Obama is not.

I have very close, long-time friends who refuse to vote for Romney and will cast their vote for a non-winnable candidate. They would say that their decision is based on principle but it is a flawed principle. We have always elected flawed presidents! The question is: who is less flawed and will lead America to give us a few more years of relative peace and security? I am convinced that the U.S. and the free world are going over the cliff but Obama will drive us over at 100 miles per hour. Romney may provide a respite from galloping socialism, frantic money printing, our cop-of-the-world attitude, the approaching depression followed by rampant inflation, the butchering of babies, and turning American into Sodom with Gomorrah as a major suburb.

Martin Luther declared, “I’d rather be ruled by a competent Turk than an incompetent Christian.” I would rather be “ruled” by a principled Mormon than a prevaricating Muslim.

Here is one Baptist Fundamentalist who will vote for Mitt Romney. I doubt that he will move all federal offices to Salt Lake City and make the Mormon top honcho his Secretary of State.

Come to think of it, the top honcho could do a better job than Hillary.
