mosque – Don Boys https://donboys.cstnews.com Common Sense for Today Sun, 05 Mar 2023 04:46:50 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=4.6.29 Russell Moore’s Treatment by Southern Baptists May Signal their Future! https://donboys.cstnews.com/russell-moores-treatment-by-southern-baptists-may-signal-their-future https://donboys.cstnews.com/russell-moores-treatment-by-southern-baptists-may-signal-their-future#respond Thu, 01 Jun 2017 15:25:45 +0000 http://donboys.cstnews.com/?p=1820 The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) has had many successes and some failures and faces more of both in my opinion. The SBC boasts of fifteen million members in 46,000 churches. More than a thousand churches have joined the convention since 2010! That makes it America’s largest “Protestant” denomination; and one indication of its weakness is not protesting being labeled Protestant.

Their successes are numerous such as the large number of impressive churches, colleges, seminaries, orphanages; many quality hospitals; and a disaster relief agency. Their failures have been mainly in the area of liberalism in their schools. To their credit, a few years ago, conservative leaders made a valiant effort to take back the SBC from liberals who controlled it. They were surprisingly successful since that had never happened in history.

Today, their problems are numerous such as the corrupt colleges; decline of baptisms; reformed theology; wine-bibbing pastors and members; ordained women preachers (over 1,225); and insurrection of younger leaders noted for their leftist theology and left wing social positions–a problem in all religious groups.

Unfortunately, the International Mission Board (IMB), known as the Cooperative Program, is millions of dollars in the red. Dr. David Platt is head of the IMB and oversees about 9,000 missionaries, but the IMB has not been able to pay the bills in recent years; hence, their attempt to entice Independent Baptists into their fold. Platt announced in Sept. of 2015 that they would “reduce the total number of our personnel…by 600-800 people over the next six months.” He admitted that the IMB had spent “$210 million more than people gave to us” since 2010! How does an organization overspend $210 million and what about hundreds of missionaries who were removed from the field because of financial irresponsibility?

The impersonal cooperative missions program of the SBC is partly responsible. Seldom do SBC church members get to meet their missionaries, pray for them by name, or send them birthday and Christmas cards because a faceless, impersonal program takes care of SBC missionaries. A few SBC churches also support missionary families from various Baptist mission boards.

The biggest boat-rocker and wave-maker in the SBC is Dr. Russell Moore, Executive Director of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC). Moore seems to have a natural inclination to poke  sticks into the eyes of traditional SBC leaders as when he suggested that Trump supporters came from the “Jimmy Swaggart wing” of evangelicalism and that Southern Baptist leaders who met with President Trump were “drinking the Kool-Aid.” Evidently, Moore has not read the book, How to Win Friends and Influence People.

Moore angered many white conservatives when he wrote. “The man on the throne in heaven is a dark-skinned, Aramaic-speaking ‘foreigner’ who is probably not all that impressed by chants of ‘Make America great again.’” We might ask the reverend if “Black Lives Matter”; “Sharia yes, Democracy No!”; or “America, go to Hell!” and similar chants impress “the man on the throne”! And what does Moore think of those chants?

Much of Moore’s strong support comes from the 4,000 mostly black congregations in the SBC. They especially liked his stand on the SBC’s decision to “repudiate the display of the Confederate Flag.” Moore wept tears of joy at that decision. Moreover, the black pastors showed their appreciation for Moore when the president of the SBC’s National African American Fellowship, recently defended him in an open letter to the Baptist Press.

Moore had a major lapse in judgment when he filed a religious-liberty brief in favor of a New Jersey mosque, poking most SBC pastors in both eyes.

With the annual convention of the SBC taking place in Phoenix this month, the long knives are out but then maybe that is not a proper metaphor in a Christian context. A better choice would be that some of Moore’s critics will have their Bible verses ready. I believe the treatment of Moore may determine the direction and even threaten the cohesion of the SBC in the very near future.

Last year, 49 SBC churches left the convention which is far more than the six or so that leave each year. Some of those that don’t leave are snapping shut their checkbooks, something that gives denominational leaders perpetual heartburn and keeps them awake at night. According to Christianity Today, “more than 100 churches threatened to end their donations to the SBC’s Cooperative Program” because of their dissatisfaction with Moore.

The prestigious Prestonwood Baptist Church, served by former SBC president Jack Graham, stated that they would escrow up to one million dollars that would normally go to the Cooperative Program. Remember that the Cooperative Program has been printing red ink for many years.

The Washington Post reported that Frank Page, former president of the SBC and now chief executive officer of the SBC, recently met with Moore and would not rule out the possibility that Moore would be asked to resign.

Watch closely this month when the SBC messengers convene in Phoenix. I’m not sure Baptists will bring long knives to the convention, but for sure, they will bring their well-marked Bibles: Tit. 2:15: “These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority” and Eph. 5:11, “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.” II Tim. 4:2: “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.”

Dr. Russell Moore may be touted in Phoenix as an illustrious religious leader or be standing in the unemployment line–with a handful of sticks for future eye-poking!

Should Christian Leaders Help Build Mosques? https://donboys.cstnews.com/should-christian-leaders-help-build-mosques https://donboys.cstnews.com/should-christian-leaders-help-build-mosques#respond Fri, 12 May 2017 01:44:41 +0000 http://donboys.cstnews.com/?p=1802 The Islamic Society of Basking Ridge, N.J. was refused a permit to build a mosque last December in a prosperous New Jersey suburb about an hour from Manhattan. The mosque leader who has been a respected town resident for 40 years and his followers met the legal building requirements that all religious buildings must meet.

The Muslim group went even further to preempt a brutal battle similar to what erupted in a town nearby over building a mosque. Trying to satisfy the opposition, the Muslims chose not to have a dome and its minarets would be chimney-style as are homes in the area. And the minarets would not be as high as church steeples. That would eliminate Christians whining, “Your minarets are higher than our steeple. It’s unfair.”

The opposing group determined to wear down the Muslims by making various excessive demands. There were 39 public hearings, and almost four years of demands for one change after another by town officials and planning board members. Even though each proposal was agreed to by the Muslims, they were followed by additional demands.

The four-acre requirement for churches was increased to six-acres. The parking lot was approved for 50 cars but was increased to 107 cars. But the mosque approval was denied by the town. Obviously, most of the opposition to the mosque was ill-disguised and ill-considered and without merit.

The major opponent declared, “Shariah law is one of the greatest threats to American values and liberties.” So, obviously, the issue was what Muslims believed and practiced. Therein is the rub.

Christian groups, including some Baptists, got involved in a suit to permit the mosque to be constructed! While I believe in religious liberty, I think Baptists have far more pressing and less controversial issues to support. I wonder if the broadminded Christians would be so supportive of a satanic group wanting to build a temple for their coven of Satanists! If not, why not? Islam is far more deceitful, disruptive, and dangerous than a few Satanists performing their silly rituals.

Brent Walker is the recently retired Executive Director of the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty who said, “It’s good when we can join hands with…folks we are sometimes on the other side of.” But God warned us not to be yoked together with unbelievers.

Other non-Muslim mosque-supporters included Dr. Russell Moore of the Ethics and the Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) and Dr. David Platt of the International Mission Board (IMB), both agencies of the Southern Baptist Convention. Dr. Platt “apologized” for his actions that were distracting and divisive but not for disobedience of Scripture! Bud Ahlheim wrote in Pulpit & Pen, “But in the case of much of the SBC, it seems that Biblical disobedience isn’t all that much of a crime, isn’t a sin, and isn’t an issue. When you get caught, apologize for the confusion, not for the transgression.” True, but that is typical of everyone, including Independent Baptists.

When Dr. Moore was confronted by fellow-Baptists about the mosque caper, he refused to apologize but did manage to antagonize his critics. Moore could only be more controversial if he led a short-term mission project to help build the New Jersey mosque! Reports have surfaced that Moore may get the axe during the annual SBC meeting in Phoenix next month; however, only his executive board has the authority to remove him. The fate of Moore may determine the future of the SBC.

Not to be outdone, the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) signed on to support the mosque-builders. About 20 other faith-based groups have joined the suit including Hare Krishna, Sikh, Jewish, and Muslim.

The suit declares that the town cannot discriminate against Muslims by requiring a different criterion from other religious groups. This is an old story of which all sincere people should be aware. For decades, Christians in America have been refused permission to build by big-city authorities because “we don’t need any more churches in this part of town.” Of course, this has been an ongoing problem for centuries in Egypt, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia. I think it should be heralded that there is not one church in Saudi Arabia! Why is no one screaming about that? Have all these religious groups taken a public stand on that issue? Why not?

All right, this is America so we are held to a higher standard. I agree and I feel queasy about the silly, unfair demands made by the opponents of the mosque. If a town can ban Muslims, they can ban Methodists. I detest inconsistency. Additionally, it is illegal to use zoning as an excuse to ban a religious group from building based on the federal Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act of 2000.

“We really felt it was important to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our Muslim brothers and sisters,” Walker the Baptist said. Say what? Has Walker lost his mind or is he overcome in a seizure of an ecumenical spasm that shut off his thinking process? All Baptists know that we are brothers to those who have been born into the family of God through the New Birth. Has he been called upon to explain his ridiculously unscriptural statement? Or, is this issue the cause of his retirement?

A major principle that most Americans don’t know is that no one speaks for Baptists. You can speak to Baptists but not for Baptists. I speak for myself.

Galen Carey of the NAE said it was not unusual for the association to support plaintiffs of other religions. Carey said it has backed a Muslim prisoner’s right to grow a beard and Jewish inmates’ right to kosher food behind bars and a Muslim woman’s successful Supreme Court case to wear a hijab while working at retail store.

I think those issues are without merit, after all, doesn’t a department store have a right to determine employees’ dress? Must a prison cater to every religious practice? Can a snake-handling fanatic demand a bag of rattlesnakes in his cell? After all, that is a religiously held belief with more biblical support than a hijab. And no one can question the sincerity of snake-handlers!

There are limits on what can be permitted based on religious belief. Some church members sit around in the nude so is the state required to overlook the harm done to children in such a church? If a church believes in sacrificing a virgin on an altar every January 1, are they to be permitted to do it? These days they will not have much of a future since virgins are difficult to find. Since Jehovah’s Witnesses don’t believe in blood transfusions, are they to be permitted to refuse blood for their sickly children? So, there are some limits to religious freedom, and I believe there must be limits on all mosques, and even on churches in extreme cases!

Islam is not only a religion but is a total way of life–economic, social, legal, and religious–that Muslims believe should regulate everyone. Christianity is also a total way of life but without coercion. It is fact that every true Muslim is obligated to make the nation in which he or she lives, a Muslim nation. All true Muslims believe in sharia law. Since 51% of American Muslims believe they have the right to be ruled by sharia rather than local laws and 20% of American Muslims believe violence is permitted to make sharia the law of the land, it is not only a religious matter. It is not very smart to encourage your executioner.

Islam is a poitical system taking advantage of our much-revered first amendment guaranteeing freedom of religion. It is seeking to destroy our Constitution and Bill of Rights, to replace them with sharia to gain world domination and subjugation of all non-Muslims. No mosque should be permitted in America unless the leadership declares under oath that they do not have plans to conquer America; they do not support female sexual mutilation; do not support honor killings; do not support violence against those who criticize Islam or Mohammed; do not support retaliation against those who leave Islam; and disavowal all forms of terror any place in the world. After permission to build the mosque, any deviation of the above would result in the leaders being arrested and the mosque demolished.

After all, under President Bush, on February 13, 2001, Federal Marshals raided the Indianapolis Baptist Temple and carried out many of my friends who were praying at the altar! The feds sold the 6 million dollar property for 1.5 million to a charter school. They attacked and later destroyed the large, famous, fundamental church based on far less (and inaccurate) transgressions than the above.

By the way, where were all the Christian mosque-defenders when the beautiful auditorium was bulldozed to the ground? They were not in Indianapolis for sure; after all, it was an Independent Baptist Church, not a Muslim mosque!

Maybe George Orwell was right. While all animals are equal, it seems some animals are more equal than others!

Southern Baptists Target Independent Baptist Churches! https://donboys.cstnews.com/southern-baptists-target-independent-baptist-churches https://donboys.cstnews.com/southern-baptists-target-independent-baptist-churches#respond Wed, 03 May 2017 21:49:10 +0000 http://donboys.cstnews.com/?p=1784 I knew there was a “Back to Rome” movement but it seems there is a “Back to Nashville” movement among Independent Baptists! However, I’m not going. I’d rather fight than switch. I don’t understand what’s so attractive about Nashville.

A few years ago, some high profile Independent Baptist Churches rejoined the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) after decades of being independent such as First Baptist in Fort Worth, Highland Park Baptist in Chattanooga and others. While a dog returning to devour its vomit is too strong a metaphor in this situation, some of us who paid the price to leave liberal denominations can see a similarity.

I was shocked to read a few months ago that the 81-year-old High Street Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri where I have preached over the years had joined the Missouri and national (SBC)! High Street Baptist is the flagship church of the Baptist Bible Fellowship International (BBFI), and has long been a stout voice for Fundamentalism, strong Bible teaching, sending missionaries worldwide, and starting Baptist churches. The BBFI is the largest group of independent Baptists in the world.

I have also been shocked by the absence of angry Fundamentalists in the streets of Springfield carrying pitchforks, torches, and tar and feathers. Me thinks the likes of J. Frank Norris, Bill Dowell, Noel Smith, Beauchamp Vick, John Rawlings and others are looking over the parapets of Heaven asking, “What on earth is going on?” What’s going on is the capitulation of Independent Baptists to denominationalism and a repudiation of the great exodus of the mid-1900s from compromising churches. Maybe there will even be a national apology tour by some of the BBFI leaders for being so “divisive.”

The SBC is the largest “protestant” denomination in America and has had a reputation for strong Bible teaching for 170 years! While one does not consider the other an enemy, each group has gone its own way, often overlapping. I have preached in a few SBC churches, but I never entertained the idea of joining an SBC church. And now the leading church in the BBFI has joined the SBC! Maybe the infamous location in the netherworld has not frozen over but surely pigs have learned to fly!

High Street Baptist is pastored by Eddie Lyons who has served there 15 years. He described the BBFI as a “very loose network of independent Baptist churches” of which he is the international president. Speaking of the SBC, the pastor told the media “We have the same heart, the same calling.” He added, “When the Southern Baptist Convention overall took their conservative move, it was very clear that there was no difference between us,” he said. “Fundamentally, the Southern Baptist Convention articulates and represents a very strong position with regard to our core theologies.” The good pastor is wrong for there is a vast difference.

Of course, while any Independent Baptist Church can do whatever it wants and does not answer to anyone outside its membership, the pastor was not exactly candid. A few years ago, the SBC shocked everyone when it was able to take back the convention from liberals. They were successful in taking back their main seminaries but they hardly made an impact on their colleges that are still controlled by theological leftists.

In 2000, 1900 churches left the SBC and formed their own liberal Cooperative Baptist Fellowship with the help of Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton. The SBC also departed from the very liberal Baptist World Alliance in 2004 which was very commendable. But the denomination still had major problems.

Independent Baptist Charles Spurgeon was first concerned about the false teaching in the Baptist Union (in England) in the 1870s. When no one seemed to listen to him (and he was pastor of the largest and most influential church) and the error continued, he resigned from the group in 1887. He wrote, “As soon as I saw, or thought I saw, that error had become firmly established, I did not deliberate, but quitted the body at once.” He said in 1888 “Since [my own resignation] my one counsel has been ‘Come out from among them.’”

When he was told that he would lose income by leaving, he replied, “I can afford to be poor, but I cannot afford to injure my conscience.”  Spurgeon “came out” and modern-day Independent Baptists are “going back” into denominationalism!

The issue of ethics arises in this matter. When a pastor accepts a call to a church, he knows what he is getting into and the members know what they are getting. Whenever that is not true then someone is a fool. When a pastor changes his mind about important biblical issues that are totally opposite what he has been teaching the church and what the church has always believed, then he must take a principled stand for what he has come to believe–and resign.

If a pastor comes to believe in Roman Catholicism or Greek Orthodoxy or liberalism and refuses to inform his church of his “conversion,” he becomes an unprincipled scoundrel when he accepts a salary from his church. Furthermore, if he insists on staying as pastor and continues to teach what the church considers a grievous error, he is also an unprincipled scoundrel. And the membership that hired him should take another step and fire him.

Many times a Baptist pastor has become convinced that speaking in tongues has not ceased as I Cor. 13:8 informs us– “whether there be tongues, they shall cease.” The Baptist pastor slowly (and sometimes quickly) turns the traditional Baptist Church into a Pentecostal Church. He does what he honestly thinks is right but he becomes a poster child for dishonesty and poor ethics.

“Ah,” one says, “but what if a Pentecostal pastor becomes convinced that Baptist doctrine is the correct interruption of Scripture and turns the Pentecostal Church into a Baptist Church? That pastor is now right in his doctrine but has a wrong address. He should resign.

So, all these Independent Baptist pastors who feel an irresistible urge toward Nashville should confess their compromise and resign their churches.

I must not be misunderstood. I do not consider SBC pastors (or laymen) my enemies. Some of my oldest friends and family members are SBC pastors and laymen. Some have been more faithful to Christ than I have been. Some have been more effective. Some have served Christ longer than I have. Each person must answer for himself why he is in the SBC or any denomination.

I must hasten to add that only God knows what keeps people in a particular church or denomination. It could be family, money, status, jobs, friends, etc. Furthermore, only God knows how some are wrestling with that decision at this moment. When I first heard as a teen about the corruption in the American Baptist Convention, it took me a few months to decide to leave the very good church of which I was a member. I lost all my close friends except one. It was devastating to me so I can empathize and sympathize with those struggling in denominational churches. Moreover, some are not struggling, being completely satisfied. I could not be satisfied with any denominational membership for many reasons.

I would never join a denominational church because New Testament churches were not connected to a denomination. All churches, true to the Bible, must be totally independent of all others and totally dependent upon God. That does not mean church leaders cannot fellowship or even cooperate in some meetings such as youth rallies, church camps, etc. In fact, independent churches have always been a financial help in starting other independent churches.

I would not be a member of a SBC church because, while they have made some progress in recent years, their schools are still corrupt. Their much-touted missions program is incredibly impersonal with most SBC members knowing the name of one foreign missionary—Lottie Moon, a very committed, brilliant lady who died in 1912!

My former church in Chattanooga, (a huge flagship church of many Independent Baptists in the south) joined the SBC. Also in Chattanooga is Abba’s House (formerly, Central Baptist Church) whose members speak in tongues, a problem rampant throughout SBC churches across the nation. A major problem in the SBC is the hundreds of women preachers and another big problem is the exploding growth of reformed theology among the clergy and seminary professors. I choose not to be linked, even loosely, to unbelief or compromise.

One of the most outrageous positions taken by the SBC is their support of a Muslim mosque in New Jersey that was denied permission to build by a local planning board. The Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the SBC has partnered with about twenty other “civil rights” groups in supporting the building of the mosque based on religious freedom. (More about that issue in a later column.)

The SBC has been dying as the liberal denominations have for decades. The trend is empty pews and empty offering plates and that can’t continue before some changes must be made. Rather than lament their loss of members and fewer baptisms at their annual convention, they decided to act.

Note the timeline: on April 7, 2015, Baptist Press headlined, “Floyd: Recruit churches to SBC’s ‘exciting work’” and the next month, Ronnie Floyd, (President of the SBC) preached at BBFI in Springfield! Then, in February, 2017, Lyons led High Street into the SBC. Others will follow like sheep.

The SBC decided to “evangelize” the Independent Baptist groups! It worked with the BBFI and others such as Grace Ministries network, Harvest Bible Fellowship network, now announcing as being “now SBC” also.

Some would say that all’s fair in love and war and now church building; however, while SBC churches are not specializing in winning sheep, they are stealing sheep–by the sheepfold!

Me? Well, I’ll stay where I am–as independent as a hog on ice!

Obama’s Visit to a Terrorist-Connected Mosque! https://donboys.cstnews.com/obamas-visit-to-a-terrorist-connected-mosque https://donboys.cstnews.com/obamas-visit-to-a-terrorist-connected-mosque#comments Tue, 16 Feb 2016 01:28:48 +0000 http://donboys.cstnews.com/?p=1359 President Obama recently visited a terrorist-connected Muslim mosque; however, he has not visited an Evangelical or Fundamentalist church! That’s interesting since such people had everything to do with founding this nation and Muslims had nothing to do with it. Among other falsehoods, he opined that Islam is “essential to the fabric of America.” He did not try to support his obviously false statement. If every Muslim in America disappeared tonight, it would have little negative impact on our nation.

Even the media have noticed how he panders to Muslims at every opportunity and always defends Muslim terrorists when they kill the innocent shouting, “Allah is the greatest.” Sane, honest people know they are obviously wild-eyed barbarians from the 7th century desert. However, when an American city is smoldering in flames from a terrorist attack, Obama will be forced to discard his pandering to Muslims as quickly as long underwear in a Texas heatwave.

America now has over 3,000 mosques and 80% of them are financed by the radical Wahhabi Muslim sect in Saudi Arabia according to the Jerusalem Post and other sources. No doubt there are some mosques filled with nominal Moslems who are not dependent upon largess from the Wahhabi extremists. Nor are they determined to destroy our government and replace it with sharia law and a world caliphate. Maybe a few.

Obama chose to visit a U. S mosque located in the Baltimore area; however, the mosque is associated with the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). The ISNA is a front for the Muslim Brotherhood, a global terrorist group. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is also an offshoot of ISNA. ISNA has longtime ties to terrorists yet Obama insisted on visiting them even after he was warned about their terrorist connections!

Obama told the audience, “You’re part of America too. You’re not Muslim or American. You’re Muslim and American.” Well, maybe but not if they really believe the teachings they profess. One cannot be a good Muslim and a good American because his allegiance is to the Koran which is based on authoritarianism which is contrary to freedom. He can’t accept democracy because democracy is antithetic to Islam and he answers to Islamic mullahs who interpret the Korean for him. A faithful Muslim cannot uphold our Constitution because Islam requires the system of sharia government which must be implemented.

Every new U.S. citizen must make an “Oath of Allegiance” promising loyalty to the United States Constitution and renunciation of allegiance to any foreign country to which the immigrant has had previous allegiances. But then, Muslims are permitted to lie if it furthers the Islamic cause.

Let me provide some information that will clarify this matter as to being a good American and a good Muslim. For a person to be a good Muslim and a good American he must be willing to:

*denounce all allegiances to his past country.

*demand that no Muslim give a dollar to promote any terrorist activities.

*declare that any Muslim in America has a right to follow any religion, thus acknowledging our freedom of religion.

*decide that it is illegal, immoral, and illogical to have more than one wife–or at least one wife at a time à la Hollywood.

Let me suggest that any Muslim has a constitutional right to live in America if he is willing to become an American; however, if he clings to his barbaric anti-America desert religion then he is persona non grata and needs to return to his desert home.

I have been defamed, threatened, and ridiculed for telling the truth about Middle East savages who cling to their Koran with one hand and an AK 47 with the other. They have made it clear to anyone with the IQ equivalent to his ring size that they plan to conquer the world for Mohammed, establishing a world caliphate. So why do civilized people tiptoe around the issue and not admit that we are at war with sixth century barbarians? Why do the media, known as news twisters, refuse to deal honestly with the issue? A religion that is used as a foundation for advocating the overthrow of our civilization should not be welcome. After all, it is not smart to feed the buzzard that is determined to pick out your eyes.

In his mosque speech, Obama cited a long history of Islam in America, and demanded more positive depictions of Muslims in American media. However, no reporter had the courage to ask for proof that Islam made any contribution to America.

Since there are many credible charges that Obama has been a life-time Muslim, it might be the words of a fanatic. He knows the statement is untrue but Islam permits deception, disingenuousness, and dishonesty if it supports and advances Islam.

Obama’s dedication to Islam may have driven him into demonstrative error. Or, he may be a fool and is simply repeating what some other fool has uttered. Or, he might be a fraud in that he knows the claims are false but wanting to give credibility to Islam, he promulgates a falsehood. He is weaving a cloak to hide the naked lies of Islam. My purpose today is to lift the cloak and reveal the unbending, unloving, uncivil, undemocratic, and ugly side of Islam.

A leading Muslim said, “The Islamic civilization was one of the most amazing that history has ever known.” That is wishful thinking and skewed, dishonest history. Such boastful claims are even more solemn, shameful, and scandalous when spoken by the President of the U.S.A.

The following grandiose claims are a pathetic example of desperate Muslim leaders who make false claims hoping to impress the gullible and feeble-minded. I could provide many more such false claims.

Muslims declare that Columbus had a Muslim navigator but he did not. A crew member was a Spaniard who spoke Arabic. Big difference.

Muslims are quick to boast about the “Arabic” system they developed which was a major improvement over the cumbersome Roman system. Just a little problem here: Muslims did not develop that system. They took it from India in about 750 and passed it on to Europeans making life simpler for everyone. Muslims were not original thinkers but they were very helpful in transmitting valuable information and classical books to Europe during the Middle Ages.

The Muslim claim for the invention of glassmaking is totally bogus since glass can be traced back to 3,500 B.C. in Mesopotamia. That was more than 4,000 before Mohammad poked his head out of his desert tent.

Desperate Muslims even take credit for bathing and soap invention! If Muslims would read the Old Testament they would discover the emphasis on cleanliness. Moreover, I have seen baths in Greece, Rome, and all over the Middle East that go back more than 2,000 years. The “Muslim” who allegedly developed soap in the late 1,700s was not even a Muslim! He was reared in a Muslim home but he became a Christian and one of his grandsons became a preacher! Furthermore, soap making goes back to Babylon in 2,800 B.C. Such spurious claims show desperation.

Muslims have long taken credit for architecture especially the pointed arch that is so common all over Europe; however, it is a fact that the pointed arch goes back to the Assyrians–at least 722 B.C.

Deceptive Muslims even claim they were the first to proclaim the Earth is round in the 8th century even though the Bible clearly declares the Earth is a sphere in Isa. 40:22 and Greeks taught a round Earth hundreds of years before Christ. Muslims proved their antiquated views when Saudi Arabia Sheik Abdul-Aziz Ibn Baaz recently declared “The earth is flat. Whoever claims it is round is an atheist deserving of punishment.” Which is it–round or flat?

But it gets worse because in October 2007 on Iraqi TV, a Muslim scientist authoritatively affirmed that the Earth is flat! Moreover, he informed his audience that the Sun is much smaller than the Earth and revolves around it!

Why all this disingenuousness, distortion, and dishonesty? It is because Islam has no credibility with informed people. So, Islamic followers try to prop it up and make it more respectable. Like angry atheists, they believe if they repeat their lies often enough, uninformed people will believe them to be truth. It won’t work.

No, Obama was wrong. Muslims made absolutely no contribution to America’s discovery or development. And many Muslim leaders are doing their best to destroy America as we have known it.

As proved above, Muslims blow smoke when they boast about their accomplishments. What they did give to the world was a backward, barbaric, and bloody religious way of life.

But then, I’m not supposed to mention that fact. Or say that it is untrue that “a peaceful religion was hijacked.”

Muslim Leaders–May I Preach at Your Washington Mosque? https://donboys.cstnews.com/muslim-leaders-may-i-preach-at-your-washington-mosque https://donboys.cstnews.com/muslim-leaders-may-i-preach-at-your-washington-mosque#respond Tue, 18 Nov 2014 12:37:38 +0000 http://donboys.cstnews.com/?p=934 Some superficial thinkers may question my request to preach in a mosque; however, it is a very reasonable request. After all, last Friday the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. permitted a Muslim prayer service! Trying to satisfy the Muslims, prayer mats were placed facing Mecca so that the very sensitive Muslims would not be offended at the crosses in the stained glass windows. It is not permitted for Muslims to pray in view of sacred symbols alien to their faith. But then, Christians are not supposed to permit God’s house to be profaned by pagan worship. There is a commandment declaring, “Thou shalt have no other Gods before me.” And all historians know Allah is the desert pagan moon god. Oh, my!

You can be sure it will be a cold, wet day on the Arabian Desert (and in that other place) before any U.S. mosque invites a Bible-believer to preach in their Friday service! In fact, they won’t permit a radical unbelieving “Christian” to preach for them. Ahh yes, sweet reciprocity.

Moreover, while I am filling my schedule maybe the ecumenical Episcopal leaders will also invite me, a Fundamentalist, to preach for them! Now that would show real tolerance, but then, even Episcopalians can’t show that much tolerance. After all, there must be some limits.

The National Cathedral is the place of numerous famous funerals: Presidents Dwight Eisenhower, Ronald Reagan, Gerald Ford; memorial services were held for presidents Harding, Coolidge, Truman and Nixon. Non presidents’ funerals include Eleanor Roosevelt, Neil Armstrong, and Nelson Mandela. So the Episcopal National Cathedral is more of a Funeral Home than a church. For sure, it is a dead or dying church.

At the interfaith service, Reverend Gina Campbell welcomed worshippers, declaring the Washington National Cathedral is “a place of prayer for all people.” Remembering her sensitivity training she prayed but not in the name of Christ. If I receive an invitation I could preach Nicodemus coming to Christ–the Seeker coming to the Savior for Salvation. Or maybe I could preach “A Christian Looks at Islam,” or “A Fundamentalist Looks at Episcopalians.” That would create more excitement in the National Cathedral than when one of the janitors unsuspectedly walked into a ladies restroom while one of the female “reverends” was there.

I suppose I should correct Gina’s heresy because she told the Muslims, “Let us stretch our hearts and let us seek to deepen mercy for we worship the same God.” First of all, her statement makes no sense. It is religious gibberish and she should know better. Secondly, Muslims worship Allah, the desert moon god as all historians know as well as readers of my book, ISLAM: America’s Trojan Horse!

The incredible ecumenical worship service was organized by Gina Campbell and South African Ambassador to the U.S., Ebrahim Rasool who praised religious freedom in America and lashed out against extremism which was commendable; however, non-Muslims are somewhat skeptical since Muslims have been given permission to be duplicitous, devious, and dishonest in the advancement of Islam. But some sincere folk will suggest that it is unfair to assume Muslim leader Ebrahim would lie to advance his religious cause. Maybe he is totally sincere. However, such thinking shows a person does not understand that ALL Muslims must seek to make the nation where he lives an Islamic state. So, if Ebrahim is a true Muslim, he will seek to advance Islam even to the point of lying. So the suspicion is not unfair, unreasonable, or unchristian.

The Ambassador’s motives are also called into question since the event was sponsored by himself, the cathedral, and several Muslim spiritual and advocacy groups: the All Dulles Area Muslim Society, the Council on American Islamic Relations, the Islamic Society of North America, Muslim Public Affairs Council and Masjid Muhammad mosque in Northwest Washington. All these Muslim groups are linked, even joined at the hip, with terrorist organizations! They are all shrill and angry defenders of any Muslim activity, anti-Israel in the extreme, and promoters of terror–if it is Muslim terror.

To his credit the Muslim Ambassador asked for a sliver of light to be permitted in Saudi Arabia but that was in an interview, not the interfaith service. He suggested that Christians should be permitted to pray in Saudi mosques but we don’t want to pray there. We want Baptist Churches next to their mosques! In fact, as a non-Muslim, I can’t even visit the nation! Ah, yes sweet tolerance–but only in one direction.

If Ebrahim can arrange for me to preach at a mosque, no special arrangements need be made. We will sing some historic Christian songs such as “There is Power in the Blood,” “O How I Love Jesus,” and “Jesus is the Sweetest Name I Know.” Maybe close with “Just as I Am.” Then we will pray for the conversion of Muslims around the world; for Muslims to stop beheading journalists, women, and children; for bloody dictators in Syria, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan to trust Christ and follow Him in believers’ baptism; for Hamas to stop its war against Israel; for butchers in many Muslim-dominated nations to stop mutilating little girls; for toleration in permitting Muslims to be converted to Christ; for Saudi to give me permission to start Trinity Baptist Church in Mecca; for all female Muslims to be treated equally with men; ad infinitum.

There was a backlash, you know, from “intolerant Christians” who thought it was not scriptural or prudent or acceptable for “Christians” to compromise with unbelievers. Franklin Graham was very forthright and courageous when he wrote: “It’s sad to see a church open its doors to the worship of anything other than the One True God of the Bible who sent His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to earth to save us from our sins. Jesus was clear when He said, ‘I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me’ (John 14:6).”

I have had disagreements with Franklin and his father’s ecumenical evangelism but that is a fuss among family members. I greatly appreciate and respect his stand on the religious fiasco at the National Cathedral and other courageous positions on controversial issues.

Just before the Muslims started to pray, a lady caused some to have an apologetic fit when she stood up, pointed to the cross and shouted, “Jesus Christ died on that cross. He is the reason we are to worship only Him. Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. We have built enough of your mosques in this country. Why don’t you worship in your mosques? …America was founded on Christian principles…Leave our church alone!” She was escorted out of the church.

All genuine Christians who are members of the National Cathedral, should demand the resignation of all senior staff and church officers who permitted such an event.

Does this incident say something about the strange day in which we live? We have Muslims worshipping in a Christian church and a lady is castigated as a hater for saying, “Christ is Lord” and escorted out of the church for her protest!

I wonder what Christ would do! No, I know what Christ would do. He would use a whip again to drive the hypocrites out of the house of God.

Obama’s “My sons” Was a Cover for “My Muslim Faith”! https://donboys.cstnews.com/obamas-my-sons-was-a-cover-for-my-muslim-faith https://donboys.cstnews.com/obamas-my-sons-was-a-cover-for-my-muslim-faith#respond Wed, 24 Oct 2012 19:13:39 +0000 http://donboys.cstnews.com/?p=159 FLASHBACK: Each Wednesday I post one of my old columns that is pertinent and interesting. This one is from 2012.

In a recent Iowa speech, Obama said, “I want women to control their own health choices, just like I want my daughters to have the same economic opportunities as my sons.” My sons! Both the video of the speech and the transcript distributed by the White House unequivocally documented his “mistake.” And he was using a teleprompter but I understand he uses the teleprompter when he tells Michelle “Good morning.”

He made the same “mistake” in a New York speech a few days later! Does he not know that he has two daughters? But then who knows, maybe he does have sons. Again, the White House transcript confirmed his mistake.

On Jan. 12, while speaking at a campaign event at a private residence in Chicago, our eloquent President, according to the White House transcript, again mistakenly mentioned “my sons.”

I wonder if his sons will campaign with him and if they ever visit the White House. Are they in a family portrait? How old are they? How many sons are there? Where do they live? Who is their mother? What are their ages? Do his two daughters know that they have brothers? When did Michelle learn about this? Are his sons black, white or what? Do they look like Trayvon Martin?

Is it possible to refer to sons you do not have? Is it remotely possible to do so repeatedly? And reading a teleprompter! What is going on in the head of Obama?
What is the explanation? Maybe marijuana does make mush of the brain. Maybe he always wanted sons and his brain is not cooperating with him, producing such mishmash. But then, maybe he does have two or more sons and it is a mental exercise to reveal this fact to the world. It could be that his Freudian slip is showing. It is his way to reveal his cloudy past.

Maybe it was only a slip of the tongue, but could you make such a mistake and refer to children you do not have and do it multiple times while reading s script?
Then maybe he was speaking hyperbolically, but if so, the hyperbole did not work. It made no sense but then again, Obama often makes no sense.

There are many speculations as to his reference to sons and they all miss the mark. My brilliant and analytical wife posited the correct answer: It is all a campaign strategy. He knows religion will play a big part in the election and he is setting us up for an explanation for his reference on ABC television to “my Muslim faith.” The ABC host gently corrected him. Muslims have not received the most positive press in recent years so it would be wiser for him to wear a cross around his neck and have “Onward Christian Soldiers” played when he is introduced rather than admit being a Muslim.

Obama’s official campaign site has a page titled “Obama has never been a Muslim, and is a committed Christian.” I would say, “Obama, I know thousands of committed Christians. They are my friends, and I can tell you that you are not a committed Christian. Committed Christians are truthful, consistent, gracious, kind, thoughtful, generous, Bible-reading, and church-going people. Everything you are not.”

His site also does damage control when it falsely states, “Obama never prayed in a mosque. He has never been a Muslim, was not raised a Muslim, and is a committed Christian who attends the United Church of Christ.” However, being a member of Trinity United Church of Christ gives him no credibility since it is probably the most unchristian church in America. But he has never been a Muslim!

However, the facts indicate otherwise. He was listed as a Muslim while a young student in Indonesia and often attended a mosque. Obama’s campaign released the statement that the senator “has never been a practicing Muslim.”

Yet he was enrolled in the Besuki Primary School, a public school in Jakarta, as a Muslim. Didn’t his mother know what religious affiliation her young son had when she filled out the enrollment forms? Of course, she knew his father, stepfather, and grandfather were all Muslims.

Obama clearly admitted to studying the Koran and identified his school as “a Muslim school” in his autobiography, Dreams From My Father. Many of his childhood friends commented on his Muslim religion, and the media in Indonesia made many references to his Muslim faith.

So, it is cover-up time. Damage control because we are speeding toward the election. So, he can say, “Hey, I have a tendency to misspeak as I did about my sons. It is the same way when I spoke about ‘my Muslim faith.’ It was simply another example of my normal misspeaking. That harmless tendency is part of my charm.”

Informed, educated people know that people can mistakenly say, “He has went” or “You was,” or “I seen” but for a Jew to say, “My Christian faith,” or a Hindu to say, “My Baptist faith,” or a Methodist to say, “My pagan faith,” is downright silly. No one believes that is possible. Same with Obama’s charming tendency to speak about sons he does not have.

Daddy said, “If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it must be a duck.” Daddy was right. So is my wife.
