Furthermore, He was a guest at the marriage in Cana thereby giving His approval on the proceedings.
The ancient Jews thought that there were three major events in life: birth, marriage, and death with marriage being the most important. They felt very strongly about marriage as revealed in the Talmud: “Any Jew who has not a wife is no man.” In fact, marriage was required by the Jews who believed an unmarried man a murderer! Wow, that’s strong!

In the early Roman Empire before the birth of Christ, marriage was a duty of all Roman aristocrats. In Sparta, a fine was imposed on bachelorhood, late marriage, and single life! According to the laws of Lycurgus, unmarried persons were prohibited from attending the public games and Plato declared all bachelors were unworthy of any honor. The Greeks obviously wanted families even while they tolerated and even glorified perversion!

The background of marriage is varied and interesting. As a substitution for God’s plan of marriage, men have made all kinds of living and sexual arrangements. They are polygamy (one man with multiple wives), polyandry (one woman with multiple husbands), polyamory (multiple and simultaneous sexual relationships), promiscuity (jumping from bed to bed like a deranged rabbit), and perversion (same-sex or sex with anything from a goat to a rocking chair). That covers most of them. Pedophilia is being touted as acceptable sexual behavior and soon it will even be “brave,” “courageous,” and “bold” to advocate such depravity.

Promiscuity has always been practiced, yet not as a normal, common, and acceptable practice except by a few small tribes. In those few instances, males and females lived “promiscuously” with whomever they desired. Members of the Oneida community in New York, for example, practiced “complex marriage,” in which all members of the community were married to all others, and sexual contact was regulated by the group.

Some would suggest that general promiscuity is very similar to the animal kingdom. I agree. It’s called, “pigpen morality.” Hollywood also comes to mind as an obvious example of barnyard living arrangements.

In Old Testament times, the parents chose the mate for their son primarily because the bride became part of the clan. Although the new couple became “one flesh,” they both remained under the authority of the bridegroom’s father. The Illustrated Bible Dictionary declares, “The parents chose someone who would best fit into their clan and work harmoniously with her mother-in-law and sisters-in-law.”

“Love” was seldom an issue in those days. The girl had little or nothing to say about the matter although Rebekah was a biblical exception. They did not marry the one they loved, but learned to love the one they married. Love did not hold the family together. Commitment did, with the encouragement of local, family, and religious connections. Most young people today can’t even spell commitment and they got that from their parents.

The Old Testament is the most authoritative and ancient source so it is a good beginning for a study of marriage, family, and the home. Ancient Jews were to marry only other Jews and any deviation was considered a terrible sin against God. God seemed to be concerned that any marriage, other than between two Jews, would corrupt His people. (They were corrupt enough without the influence of pagans. Solomon is a good example of pagan corruption.) The Apostle Paul emphasized that Christians in Corinth should not marry unbelievers (II Cor. 6:14). That command holds today for modern Christians.

The International Standard Bible Encyclopedia reveals that the Old Testament has no mention of a formal exchange of vows or of a preacher, prophet, or priest being present at weddings since it was a family affair: “There was no formal religious ceremony connected with the Hebrew marriage as with us–there is not a hint of such a thing in the Bible.” In Gen. 2:24, Adam is seen cleaving unto his wife, the first time “wife” is used in the Bible. No ceremony, no preacher, no license, no church and no state involvement, so I am on solid ground in refusing any state involvement in marriage since marriage was established before any government.

At weddings, the couple would have a meal with family and friends, then the man took the woman into his home before witnesses and they were considered married. This was always with the permission of the father of the girl showing he approved of the groom. The couple became a family.

According to the Code of Hammurabi (about 1800 BC) in ancient Babylon (Iraq), marriage was a contract between a man and woman and marriages were arranged by relatives.

During the Roman Empire, there were wealthy citizens who wanted to list their property when they entered a marriage so there could be no misunderstanding by anyone as to the status of the man and his heirs. This was the beginning of officially recording marriages similar to what we do today. A Roman male could terminate a marriage any time, but a wife who wanted to end a marriage had to grin and bear it. Many unhappy wives in the Empire did little grinning but they did a lot of groaning.

This Roman custom was the first step on a very slippery slope of government control of marriages and a take-over of homes; and it is past time for Christian churches to take back control of the formation of their families.

There is no legislation or court decision necessary. Pastors should simply stop using a marriage license and use a written covenant instead. Everything else would remain the same. No notice or permission is necessary from any official. If a couple wants to record the ceremony at their county courthouse that is their prerogative and I think should be done. It would simply be informing the state after the fact.

Since government fouls up everything and has no scriptural support for regulating weddings, government should have nothing to do with modern marriages. Get the state out of all Christian marriages! Frankly, I can build a good case for churches to get out of the wedding business since there is not one command for preachers to perform weddings. However, a church can choose to have what ministries their members want whether it is Sunday school, youth services, camps, rallies, or weddings. There is no scriptural command for any of those ministries but that doesn’t mean they are wrong.

Let me be very clear: no informed, honest Christian can ever, under any circumstances, accept, approve, or applaud “gay” marriage or any other abnormal behavior. Never, even if there is a loss of income, home, job, or threat of prison! The non-thinkers and bigots will accuse me of bigotry followed by their usual diatribe but that is not an answer. The Homosexual Lobby’s policy is if we don’t approve them then they accuse and attack our lack of tolerance! Hypocrites!

It has nothing to do with hate, envy, fear, or twisted thinking, but a dedication to truth. Sodomy is evil, wrong, wicked, sinful, corrupt, perverse, bad, immoral, depraved, decadent, dissolute, debauched, and disgusting. And whether I’m writing in love or hate doesn’t change the facts.

Homosexual behavior has been forbidden since the beginning of time by every religion and every civilization. Even during the “Golden Age” of the Greeks, homosexuality was rather common among the ruling class and the philosophers. The common people had enough sense to know that such activity was contrary to nature and could destroy the human race.

It is not a matter of forbidding one person to love another because we should love everyone! I love people (even people I don’t like!) enough to tell them the truth about perversion and other matters. Love everyone but don’t sleep with everyone! To do otherwise is obviously abnormal, abominable, and awful.

The Homosexual Lobby has taken control of America with the collusion of the media moguls. Even “Christian” churches, colleges, and conventions have been snookered by the loony left. No one wants to appear unkind, unreasonable, or be unemployed; so, religious leaders have climbed on the bandwagon to perdition with a modern Bible version in their hands and a whining, spurious prayer on their lips.

Christian businesspeople have lost the right to practice their beliefs so that a bunch of homosexuals will not get their feelings hurt! It is not a crime to offend someone! Let me be very clear: do not discriminate is not one of the Ten Commandments. Even if it were, those beating the homosexual drum usually don’t obey the original Ten! But that crowd has far more faith in a commandment that does not exist than for the Ten that do exist and for which we all will be held accountable.

Think about it: a person risks his or her money to start a business, works day and night to get it going, and while risking everything is then asked to do something that endorses, encourages, and emboldens a lifestyle that is contrary to his or her sincerely held religious beliefs. He will sell to and service anyone but to certify or accredit sinful behavior he will not do. And may lose everything for acting according to his beliefs. No honest, informed person says that that was part of early America. Those who declare otherwise have perverted truth. We are castigated if we do not “love” homosexuals but they don’t have to love us whom they call “homophobes”!

Non-thinkers compare the civil rights demonstrators sitting at a lunch counter to “gays” being refused an endorsement of their lifestyle by a cake or photographs. It appears that constant media exposure is rotting the brains of people. I’m sure perversion does.

But forcing Christians to act contrary to their beliefs is not only a threat to religious belief. It is a matter of personal rights even apart from religion. In the “old days” an American could choose his own friends, belong to whatever organizations he desired, and disagree with (even ridicule) political, religious, or academic groups without fear. He might be considered a little odd but it was legal to be odd in the old days.

If that “odd” American started a business he could choose to serve anyone he wanted. If a barber especially liked to cut red hair that was somewhat odd but he could choose to cut only red hair–and soon go out of business. But that was his right as an American.

If a lawyer chose to represent only the Irish or Jews or Italians or Germans, that was his right. After all, this was America. He had a right to not like other people. It was not Christian, but it was an American’s right.

A businessperson could hire whomever he chose and pay whatever salary they agreed on with whatever benefits or no benefits. The owner could set the working hours and the employee could work those hours or not. It was America. The owner did not have to get permission from the city or state to start his business and did not have to give an account how the business was run. As long as he paid the applicable taxes.

In recent days we have seen the governors of Indiana and Arkansas show cowardice in face of the Homosexual Lobby. Governor Pence committed political suicide when he cowed to the screaming homosexuals who bullied, badgered, and browbeat him. If he can’t stand up to perverts, he sure can’t stand up to Putin.

The weak, wobbly, and wimpy politicians, including judges, have destroyed personal rights and religious rights. They have put our nation in a place where there is nothing but conflict, confusion, and chaos ahead.

Of course, a Christian baker or photographer or flower shop should not be forced to celebrate perversion. Nor should a Muslim baker be forced to bake a cake celebrating a homosexual wedding, or the ACLU or similar group be forced to publish an ad in their magazine titled, “Senator Joe McCarthy Was Right!” Or how about a Jewish baker being forced to bake a cake for a Nazi party? How about a homosexual baker being forced to bake a cake with “Same-sex Marriage is Perversion!” for Westboro Baptist Church? Or an atheist printer being forced to print a gospel tract titled “God’s Simple Plan of Salvation!”? Whatever happened to freedom?

Frankly, any businessperson should be permitted to refuse service for any reason unless his business was financed by a state or federal loan. Of course, I don’t believe any entity of government has any constitutional right to lend money. That’s why we have banks.

The city of Coeur d”Alene, Idaho informed the Hitching Post wedding chapel that they must perform same-sex “marriage;” however the preachers refused and sued the city. The city fathers backed down following the suit. Here is where Christians have failed: we have the same rights as others and we should have swamped the courts with aggressive lawsuits against those who slander, harass, and intimidate us.

Recently a Christian asked thirteen major “gay” bakers to make a cake: “Gay Marriage is Wrong” and all refused and some even were insulting and threatening. He should sue every baker.

The issue is not sexual rights but the obsessive desire by the Homosexual Lobby to suppress Christians’ freedom of religion. Homosexuals will brook no disagreement and in this new America they have more rights than normal, decent people.

Homosexuals want acceptance of their beliefs but refuse Christians that same right. They want to have their cake and eat it too. That can’t be done, just as Christians cannot compromise and become an enabler of perversion.

Rev. Anthony Evans noted that his group that represents almost six million Blacks is “simply standing on the Word of God within the mind of Christ. We urge our brother and sisters of the PCUSA to repent and be restored to fellowship.”

Pastor Evans added that the PCUSA’s decisions was a universal sin against the entire church and can no longer call itself a Christian entity in the body of Christ. He added, “No church has the right to change the Word of God. By voting to redefine marriage PCUSA automatically forfeits Christ’s saving grace. There is always redemption in the body of Christ through confession of faith and adhering to Holy Scripture.”

“In this case, PCUSA deliberately voted to change the Word of God and the interpretation of holy marriage between one man and one woman. This is why we must break fellowship with them and urge the entire Christendom to do so as well.”

Wow! A large group of black pastors representing 34,000 churches has taken a courageous stand that should be emulated by numerous other church leaders–most of them white.

It is noteworthy that the Black spokesman not only disagreed with the PCUSA but called upon them to “repent and be restored to fellowship.” It is one thing to disagree with and disengage from a group but to demand repentance is astounding. Isn’t that a little “uppity” of those black leaders? How dare they condemn, challenge, and chastise their “betters!”

Of course the Black preachers are correct to state that no church has the right to “change the Word of God.” However, that has been going on for decades with modern translations that display little loyalty to the inspiration, inerrancy, and infallibility of the Word. Added to that, there are the changes in church creeds, seminary training, ordination qualifications, etc. All these corruptions are to satisfy the culture, after all culture is constantly changing; however, that is the point: mankind needs a standard that does not change. God does not change; neither does His Word!

Recently many high profile evangelical leaders have shifted with the culture on same sex “marriage” but the Bible has not shifted. These “leaders” are pathetic individuals who never knew or forgot that the church of the living God is not to move with the culture but to move the culture!

The culture shifts toward abortion so the churches do, after all a woman has a right to choose but of course the unborn child has no choice.

There is shift in the culture toward sexual immorality so the churches shift and even welcome fornicators and adulterers into membership without requiring repentance.

There is a shift in the culture on gambling so the churches move to the left and even take groups to Vegas and Atlantic City as church groups–even some independent Baptists!

There is a shift in the culture toward drinking so the churches shift even to the point of providing booze during church services!

The culture shifts toward immodesty in dress so now even professing Christians shift with the culture; after all, pastors argue that they would rather have them in church dressed like scantily clad “stars” at Hollywood premiers than not have them in church at all.

However, it is even more shocking because the black leaders also suggested that all other denominations follow their example! Of course, all the major denominations have been dancing around the homosexual issue for decades and many have not shown any commitment to the Word of God or to common decency.

Church leaders should have fled their denominations like their hair was on fire in obedience to II Cor. 6:17 that clearly commands us to “come out from among them” and be separate. A few churches in various denominations have done this but not in massive numbers. These black brothers are good examples for others to leave corrupt denominations.

We have seen an abundance of “tolerance” where anything is accepted if enough people demand it and if it is followed by a media blitz supporting that “tolerance.” Americans are willing to tolerate anything; after all, right is not always right and wrong is not always wrong. It depends on the circumstances or so they say. There is a plethora of talk about rights but very little talk about what is right. These black pastors are calling attention to right and their right to declare what is right according to the Bible. I am delighted to stand with them.

Let me be clear: the Bible can never mean what it was not written to mean and if the homosexual juggernaut continues then America will become Sodom with electric lights, television, cell phones, smog, and Interstates.

Maybe these Black clergymen will help stem the tide and delay God’s judgment.

I would tell the mayor that I will not obey her subpoena and submit my sermons to her or anyone! Period. That means “never” even if ordered to comply by the U.S. Supreme Court, the Department of Justice or even the President of the United States! Those entities are part of the problem! President Obama signed the U.N. Declaration on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity and even hosted in the White House (that’s our house) the first meeting with transgender activists! Furthermore, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission ruled last year that “gender identity or expression” in the workplace is protected under federal civil rights law!

The lunatics, leftists, and losers have taken over the asylum. Note that I have not used the mayor’s name since I don’t want to honor her in doing so. It was not accidental.

I do have good news for the mayor. She can hear my sermons Sunday morning, Sunday evening and Wednesday evening. In fact, she can bring her girlfriend also. Moreover, they will be invited, along with thieves, muggers, liars, and fornicators, to “hit the sawdust trail” and repent at the altar for the vile sin of homosexuality. I will even personalize my sermons and preach the clear Bible teaching that all sex outside of marriage is wrong and same sex “marriage” is vile, vulgar, and venomous. I will document my position from the Bible then will provide overwhelming proof that all church leaders down through the centuries have stood exactly where I stand. I will preach of God’s purpose, parameters, and prerequisites for marriage. And she and her girlfriend haven’t met His qualifications.

I will preach that if she and her girlfriend show no remorse, no regret, no repentance there will be eternal judgment for them! I will preach from Jer. 6:15: “Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.” That passage teaches that same sex “marriages” are squalid, shameful, sorry, sordid, and sinful.

Furthermore, our church restrooms will not be transgendered. Men and boys will use the same restroom for males and girls and women will use another restroom for females. Each gender will be required to have the appropriate “equipment.” If anyone tries to enter a restroom without the correct obvious physical characteristics, they will be removed by a couple of my burley deacons without ceremony onto the parking lot. That goes for the mayor and her girlfriend. It also goes for any of her bodyguards! Deacons grow big in Houston.

Our lawyers are not needed. We are not interested in pleadings, polls and petitions but we will protest. I have invited all pastors in Houston to meet with me outside the mayor’s office this Friday at noon. We will not sing, pray, or preach but we will stand there as silent witnesses to the fact that no one on earth, no court, no official will tell us what to preach or to change our stand on morality. And for sure, we will not remodel our restrooms to satisfy a bunch of shameless, selfish, and sinful cross- dressers who are violating the Scripture in Deut. 22:5: “The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.”

No doubt some weak, wimpy, whiney, wobbly, wishy-washy preachers will also attend our protest, in opposition to us, suggesting that they represent biblical teaching. So be it. This is still America where weird, wacky, and wrong “men of the cloth” can display to the world their capitulation to the corrupt culture.

Moreover, it is interesting that no one in Houston or in any other American city is demanding to hear what Muslim imams are preaching! Isn’t that interesting? But we know that they are teaching jihad, that’s “fighting for the cause of Allah” and even recruiting fighters to fight in the Middle East! Right here in America! But her honor is not concerned about Muslims. Methodists and Baptists for sure, but not Muslims.

The mayor is a “predator protector” and that is not part of a mayor’s job description. She would be wiser and more productive to fill the pot holes instead of trying to intimidate preachers.

God warned us to not put any evil thing before our eyes. Wonder what He meant? Could it possibly mean that genuine Christians should be very discriminating as to the books they read, and the movies and television shows they watch? Of course, it is unnecessary to deal with pornography because no sane person, let alone Christian, would be so unprincipled. Would they?

When real Christians (but then that’s the only kind there are) get a revelation of personal sin, they first recognize that sin, then experience remorse which should be followed with repentance. After repentance, they will refuse to walk that same path. That will happen unless they have rebelled so long that they have a conscience seared as with a hot iron. The day may come when even preachers try to justify filthy speech, dirty stories, avarice, and fornication. Wait a minute, I think we are already there!

I exhausted a huge amount of time watching filth, suggestiveness, and ridicule of Christians and biblical values. Following are the shows I watched and my evaluation of them and while I am only a simple, out-of-touch Christian, I do have a right to research, recommend, and even do a little ranting especially when children are involved.

Make no mistake, the popular shows I will mention should, in my humble opinion, be watched by no one–unless vileness, violence, and vulgarity are now viable and valuable options. The few shows I do recommend should be scrutinized since I may have missed some egregious shows. It should be noted that I only watched a portion of most shows.

“Modern Family” is an incredible mixture of weirdoes doing all kinds of things as if they are normal.

“Two and a half men” contains one very vulgar sex joke after another, penis jokes, lesbianism, and toilet humor. I don’t think even nominal church people, with the decency of a warthog could watch that show all the way through. I was not able to watch it very long.

The “Crazy Ones” consists of constant sex jokes. The boss and his assistant sleep with the same whore; his daughter catches him and “it’s no big deal since they are all adults” then, the whore gets a third lover at the end of the show.

“Criminal Minds” is very explicit with mangled and tortured bodies shown in detail. Violent wounds are clearly depicted. I would be appalled if I thought my grandchildren were permitted to see something so shocking and graphic.

“Hawaii Five-O” is a far cry from the original show that aired in the 70s and 80s. It has interesting plots, attractive stars, but is explicit and violent. Both male stars are sleeping with their girlfriends and it is presented as normal and acceptable activity.

“NCIS Los Angeles” is very violent, graphic and suggestive.

“NCIS Las Vegas” is very violent and graphic. Bedroom scenes with stars are common.

“Two Waitresses” uses crude four letter words, genital humor, vulgarities, and makes fun of prostitution and death.

“Mom” ridicules mothers, advocates gay sex, and is very crude.

“The Good Wife” is an attorney/political show but they don’t do much courtroom work because they spend so much time bed-hopping. Even though it is well written and suspenseful, it is ruthless and parades quick sex anywhere.

“The Millers” is vulgar, sexual, and is scattered with flatulence jokes and masturbation jokes, and is very crude. It is not only crude, vulgar, sex laden but dull. I’ve had more interest and excitement in watching fish swimming in an aquarium or paint dry.

All of the above shows should be unplugged and while I don’t want the government to have authority to do any censoring, the viewers should do so. Christians should respond by turning off their sets or changing to something wholesome and we should respond with our checkbook: Don’t support their sponsors.

Someone says, “But surely there were some shows that were worth watching by even a prude like you!” Yes, a few but with caution. After all, the plots continue to develop. When it gets where it is shameful, stop watching.

The “Blue Bloods” has “heart,” and is not politically correct. They promote principled issues and I didn’t see any sex scenes; the large police family (Catholic) has prayer at dinner; young cop/son has new female partner and they will probably end up in bed. I hope I am wrong. It is one of the few shows that I could watch without feeling uncomfortable. Oops, a recent show proved that this show may be going the way all of them go. The young cop went to bed with his girlfriend that he was not even serious about. I expect his partner will be a future bedmate.

“Elementary” is a very good detective show that is very interesting; it is well written; however, a recent show had some sexual content.

“Mentalist” is very interesting and has some sex. It is well written.

“Person of Interest” is very interesting and has no swearing. It portrays a strong sense of justice even to the point of breaking unjust laws to achieve justice. It is very violent.

Another “NCIS” is very well done, has interesting characters and the star is very likable, also it is not overtly sexual.

Even non-Christians should consider most television shows as dangerous as a rattlesnake in a nursery and should trash their television or watch it very selectively. They will do that unless they are unconcerned about their children being exposed to squalid, shameful, shameless, and sordid programs.

John Chrysostom, the “Golden Mouth” (born about 345 A.D.) denounced the theater in his day as an exhibition of lewd women, and as a school of profanity, seduction, and intrigue. He threatened the rich with Hell for entertaining guests with dancing girls! I wonder what John would say about the most popular television shows that most Christians watch every night?

The Bible is the only source for knowing what Christ might do–not civil law, the ranting of preachers of permissiveness, piteous whining of evangelicals desperately looking for acceptance, or the hypocritical palaver of pious politicians. Governor Brewer might bake a cake for a homosexual “marriage” but I’m sure He would not. Regardless of the Nazareth Code for Carpenters, Christ would have also refused to build an elaborate and expensive altar to Baal or a statue of Diana. He would go to jail first. In fact, He did go to jail and to the Cross.

Critics ask if Christ would bake a cake for a homosexual “couple” but the premise is wrong: Christ is not a baker; he is the Savor of all who will repent and receive Him by faith. And He would not have honored the “couple” at a wedding as He did for a normal couple in Cana of Galilee; no, He did not bake cakes but He did turn water into “wine.” After all, He was, is, and always will be God!

We are told that Christians would show love and kindness by baking a cake, taking pictures, etc., for a same sex “wedding;” but while love and kindness are required of us, our basic decisions are based on truth: What does the Bible require of me? It requires obedience to truth. It does not admonish me to “show my love” by disobeying revealed truth–even if the law commands me to do so.

Likewise, I might bake homosexuals a cake but no “congratulations” or two “gay” men on top. I might also recommend them to a “gay-friendly” baker as I handed them some gospel literature, probably written by me. I would also refuse to bake a cake for a “divorce celebration.”

Perhaps a better question might be: would the firm of “Joseph, Jesus, and Brothers” in Nazareth qualify every customer for their religious orthodoxy before selling them furniture? No, of course not, but there is a difference in selling a piece of household furniture and selling an altar for worship of a pagan god. Why do unbelievers have such a difficult time understanding that?

Even if same sex marriages were legal in Arizona, it would make little difference in the morality of the issue. In Nevada where prostitution is legal, can a Christian photographer refuse to produce a brochure pitching the bliss of a brothel visit–maybe a “buy one, get one free” promotion?

It is interesting that a business owner can lawfully refuse service to a man legally licensed to carry a gun but not refuse to honor an abnormal lifestyle! I wonder if the hypocrites of the ACLU and the Homosexual Lobby would demand that a Jewish or black businessman serve a group of uniformed Nazis or KKK? Of course, the KKK clowns would not be wearing their sheets, only carrying them folded over their arms. Must a hotel rent space to Nazis, KKK, or other haters? Does a Jew or Muslim have the right to force a restaurant to serve them special meals? How far will the left push this warped, wrong, and wicked principle? All the way into leftfield, as always.

On the other hand, will the state force a homosexual baker to bake a cake, stating in red sugar across the top, “God Hates Fags!” for Westboro Baptist nuts?  Or, how about forcing a black baker to bake a cake for the anniversary of the KKK? Can a Muslim baker refuse to bake a cake with a cross on it? How about a Jewish baker forced to bake a cake with a swastika for a Nazi rally? Or a Jew is forced to rent a hall for a Holocaust denier to promote his book, What Final Solution? Just wondering if the ACLU and the Homosexual Lobby will be consistent. It is American and Christian to serve a customer but it is unreasonable, unprincipled, and unchristian to promote an offensive, unbiblical message even if refusal means jail time or bankruptcy.

This issue is basically a big government problem: the ever-increasing push for more and more power by prissy, pampered, politicians. If a man uses his savings (or goes into debt) to fund a business, the government, at all levels, has no authority how that business is run. Government has no authority (power yes–since they have the firepower–but no authority) to tell a businessman whom he can hire, how many hours employees can work, when they can work, how much they will be paid, or require health insurance coverage. Now, the market place or a Christian conscience may determine some of that but not government. This is simply an arrogation of authority that is illegitimate, illegal, and insane.

Don’t be mistaken. The progressives will never be satisfied. Homosexuals want acceptance, even respect, and they preach (but don’t practice) tolerance. The fact is, they use intolerance to fight what they perceive as intolerance! They are the biggest haters in the world. They hate Christ and His church. That is their target. Fundamental and Evangelical pastors had better get ready for homosexual weddings. No matter what the law demands, principled preachers will not cave. Many have decided that they will comply since they can “still preach the gospel.”

Shakespeare’s Shylock, the ruthless Jewish usurer in The Merchant of Venice, got it right: “I will buy with you, sell with you, talk with you, walk with you, and so following, but I will not eat with you, drink with you, nor pray with you.” To do so was considered a compromise of convictions and a corruption of doctrine. Shylock was right. So am I.

Christ would not bake a cake for a homosexual “wedding.”

I realize that my heading is sensational, shocking, and critics will say it is silly, but even if that is true, that would not make it imponderable, improbable, or impossible. Other nations have destroyed themselves by flaunting their wicked behavior in the face of God. Many Americans are experts at flaunting even as they profess motives of love, equality and justice. I suggest their motive is fear: fear of being laughed at; fear of being ostracized; fear of inadequate ability to defend the biblical position. So, it’s easier, and more popular, to go with the flow–even if it’s over Niagara.

It is shocking that any court, especially the U.S. Supreme Court would discuss, debate, and presume to decide same sex “marriage”! God decided it a long time ago! Even ten years ago the subject would not have been discussed in polite company, and anyone who predicted that homosexual “marriage” would be seriously discussed by sane people would have been hooted out of the market place of ideas.

Any day the highest court will decide the future of America; however, I don’t believe we have a future. The fact that same-sex “marriage” is before the court indicates our moral depravity, depression, and destiny. Disobedience to God is costly. I think payday is coming and the chickens are getting ready to roost.

I believe the above because as a nation we decided that we rejected the Bible as our standard and guide. We expelled God and the Bible from our schools making them incompetent nut factories. We have been killing innocent, helpless, unborn babies for decades even killing them after they survive abortion! The media have ridiculed genuine Christians for a generation, dismissing godly living, etc. Now we have national leaders, of both parties, who have endorsed and encouraged perversion. Maybe it would be helpful if I reminded everyone that God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of their evil activities.

The reason we are at this juncture is because the American people have rejected God’s standard so as to make decisions based on how they “feel” or “think” about something. When there is no absolute standard, anything can be affirmed, advocated, and approved. But where does it end? There are some things that are wrong if done by anyone, at any time, under any conditions. Murder, rape, perversion, cursing, thievery, and personal hate are always wrong. Same with drunkenness, abortion, and illegal drugs.

It matters not how one “feels,” “thinks,” or “believes.” Nor does it matter if some misfit, cowardly preacher gives such things a pass and seeks to make them “respectable.” No person on earth has the “right” to do those things even if they don’t believe in a Supreme Being. To say otherwise is to drive society to the place where “everyone did that which was right in his own eyes.” With the present debate about same-sex “marriage,” we are at that place.

Can anyone defend multiple wives or husbands; how about sex with children? How about sex with a favorite goat? Preachers of permissiveness ridicule those questions but they don’t reply to them! It matters not what I think or anyone else thinks but it sure matters what a holy, all powerful God thinks. And we will all stand before Him and give a personal account as to what we believed and how we lived. The Bible is the only safe, sure standard by which anyone can make a decision about any issue. To live any other way is anarchy and treason against God and the Bible.

When homosexual “marriage” becomes lawful (but never right) I wonder if the broadminded proponents will be broadminded and tolerant of preachers who refuse to marry Fred and Frank (and maybe Frick.) Will those paragons of equality support those churches that refuse to hire homosexuals as staff persons? Of course, they will not support resisting churches since most of proponents of perversion are hypocrites.

Therefore, those people who want to live without any restraints and support homosexuality proving their broadmindedness are defending the indefensible. They are defending a castle in ruins.

Apostles of permissiveness denounce marriage “inequality” not knowing that “inequality” came from God’s original creation as humanity was divided into separate but equal genders, man and woman. Earliest civilizations followed this pattern because it was best for society. Differences between man and woman will not go away just because some court changes some laws. And I will never adjust my convictions whatever the price, privation, pressure, persecution, or prosecution.

No Christian can choose to be exempt from this warfare and ever live in peace with his or her conscience. To acquiesce to unquestioned evil is a disgrace, disobedience, and disaster for the cause of Christ as well as the compromising person. Many Evangelicals, not wanting to “swim against the tide” of public opinion, have taken a cowardly stand; and others, including some Fundamentalists, are standing in safe shadows, having taken a vow of silence–at least on this “hot” issue.

In this case, it is so obvious that old-fashioned Christians are on the right side that it should not require any defense to thinking people. The real Christian realizes that personal honor is dearer than life itself. And personal honor is more important than receiving honors especially from a corrupt, compromising, and craven populous. Many silent preachers are not morally bad or scripturally deficient but are cowardly. Most people are afraid of someone or something. So many leaders live in fear and, on very controversial issues they stand silent in safe shadows or join the herd.

Martin Luther said, “If I profess with the loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the Word of God except precisely that little point which the world and the devil are at that moment attacking, I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Him. Where the battle rages there the loyalty of the soldier is proved; and to be steady on all the battle front besides, is mere flight and disgrace if he flinches at that point.”

I stand with Luther and God. Pretty good company.
