Genuine Christians are known for their love for people, all people; however, love is not revealed by songs, statements, and slogans but by acts of kindness, help, sacrifice, etc. The Bible often refers to love, and that love was finally put on display to the world when God became man in Bethlehem, lived and preached for about 33 years then willingly died on a cross for each person’s sin. His love and deity were demonstrated with a victorious resurrection.

The world was never the same after that.

Following Christ’s ascension, Christians were visual examples of God’s love demonstrated by how they lived, gave, served, and preached during good and difficult times. The world has experienced one disaster after another and each time, Christians have been there to help as is obvious today in African nations ravaged by famine, war, and natural disasters. And now we see  Ukraine where civilians are hungry, cold, and hurting. We have seen many Christian groups active in Florida and other southern states following catastrophic storms.

Weather-related and other natural disasters in recent years have supported the fact that Christians are very giving, loving people willing to serve, sacrifice, and suffer to help those in need, whatever the religious, political, or racial factors of the sufferers. Not having a bureaucracy to slow their responses, Christian groups are usually the first on the scene and the last to leave.

That’s the way it should be even though the main message of the groups is personal salvation, they also have a passion to help others. Disasters in far-flung cities and nations have seen numerous acts of kindness to help people get through disasters and improve their political, social, religious, and day-to-day lives.

The first world pandemic (thought to be smallpox) was the “Antonine Plague” of 165-180 which killed about five million people.  Soon after, in 249, the so-called “Plague of Cyprian” broke out during a very troubled time that lasted until well into 271. It killed 5,000 people per day in Rome.

Rodney Stark wrote in The Rise of Christianity, “Christians stayed in the afflicted cities when pagan leaders, including physicians, fled.” As the first symptom appeared, victims often were thrown into the streets, where the dead and dying lay in piles.

St. Dionysius of Alexandria witnessed the pagan reaction to the plague: “At the first onset of the disease, they pushed the sufferers away and fled from their dearest, throwing them into the roads before they were dead and treating unburied corpses as dirt, hoping thereby to avert the spread and contagion of the fatal disease; but do what they might, they found it difficult to escape.”

The early Christian leader continued, “Most of our brother Christians showed unbounded love and loyalty, never sparing themselves and thinking only of one another. Heedless of danger, they took charge of the sick, attending to their every need and ministering to them in Christ, and with them departed this life serenely happy; for they were infected by others with the disease, drawing on themselves the sickness of their neighbors and cheerfully accepting their pains. Many, in nursing and curing others, transferred their death to themselves and died in their stead.”

Dionysius added, “But with the heathen everything was quite otherwise. They deserted those who began to be sick, and fled from their dearest friends.”

The last pagan emperor, Julian the Apostate, scolded the pagan priests for not being the example as the Christians were during another plague in 362. He attributed the growth of Christianity to their compassion and sacrificial service during dangerous and deadly times.

In A.D. 540, the Plague of Justinian smacked the Greek Empire with 10,000 deaths per day! When the pestilence had passed, there was so much depravity and general licentiousness that it seemed, said Procopius, that “only the most wicked were left alive.”

There is no doubt that the plague of Justinian nudged Europe into the Dark Ages, so informed people are aware of the present danger posed by repeated terrorist attacks against our nation. Those attacks would affect our constitution, community, commerce, churches, and culture; they could affect your character as well. Christians with character will be a major ameliorating force in helping civic officials clean up the mess.

The incredible chaos from the COVID scandal with all the lockdowns, school closings, business bankruptcies, medical confusion like never before, unnecessary deaths, terminated workers, political controversy, etc., is a perfect example of an impact upon every person.

Along with other disasters, the plague of Justinian reduced the population of the Mediterranean world by 40% before 600.  Repeated subsequent waves of the plague continued to smash the area throughout the 6th, 7th, and 8th centuries.  Constantinople (now named Istanbul) was the most important political and cultural center of the Western world and the hub of Christian civilization. Constantinople came to a standstill as food started to run out, and law and order broke down turning into anarchy.

Millions of Europeans died of the plague, receiving little help from the medical establishment or the Roman Catholic Church. Consequently, the people lost respect for them and began to examine the old “truths” with an inquiring mind. They discovered that many of the old “truths” were without foundation, so the people decided to think for themselves. At this time, the Pope gave permission for the bodies of plague victims to be dissected in an attempt to garner knowledge about the plague. This inquiring and commendable spirit and challenge to past authorities was the beginning of modern science. I salute the pope for his salutary and courageous decision.

Others think the plague helped spark the Protestant Reformation. However, John Wycliffe had ignited a flame in England in the late 1300s when he exposed the nonbiblical doctrines of the Roman Church. He demanded that the Bible—not the church—was to guide all Christians. He supported his positions with his new translation of the Bible. Yes, the plague impacted the nation, but it was only a minor impetus for the Reformation. John Wycliffe (and his Bible) was the “Morning Star of the Reformation.”

In light of the foregoing horror stories, should we expect to see similar results from the crises we would face when terrorists strike again and again and again? As we face the possibilities of biological, chemical, or nuclear warfare, what impact would it have on your life, if you live through the events?

Major epidemics, famines, and natural disasters, not only have a profound effect on the political, business, and agricultural life of a nation, but they also change people. My purpose is to consider the possibility of horrific, adverse reactions to epidemics and disasters that face us. Human reactions in the past have wrought havoc upon society and if the next terrorist attack is biological or chemical, we could face the same experiences of people in the past when the pestilence was natural, not man-made.

The continuing atmosphere of death and constant terror drove men to look honestly at their lives and at their religious experience. This resulted in thousands becoming more sincere and placing more emphasis on their personal relationship with Christ. It also led them away from the established churches in various countries. Printing had been invented in 1450, and people were now reading the Bible and doing their own thinking for the first time in over a thousand years. They realized that church membership and church attendance did not produce personal satisfaction or personal salvation as they had been taught. Following personal conversion, those new converts (but old church members) lived and died as Christians.

Christians believed they had a responsibility to help others as a Christian duty, so during times of famine they shared their food; in times of sorrow, they wept with the bereaved; and in times of pestilence, they nursed the sick and dying. The non-Christians and the pagans took notice of such kindness–and at a time when other institutions were damaged, discredited, and often dissolved, the Christian churches were deployed and developed. William McNeill wrote: “Pagans fled from the sick and heartlessly abandoned them.” Christians stayed and served–and died.

That’s what real Christians have always done and are doing as I write. Love is always shown in the daily activities of selflessness, service, and sacrifice thanks to Bethlehem, Calvary, and an empty tomb.

When Russian Communist Dictator Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine, he may have thrown Joe Biden a political lifeline. Or maybe an iron anchor. Biden’s approval ratings were in the basement, inflation steadily climbed, the southern border was overrun by illegal aliens, and desperate Democrats announced their retirement like rats jumping from a sinking ship. You know, to spend more time with the family.

Those Democrats had visions of a massive defeat in 2022 and 2024. Maybe they were premature now that we have a war in Europe. The old political adage is you don’t change politicians in the middle of a war—especially a possible world war. However, the U.S. is far from Europe, but that’s another issue.

If Biden is smart, the U.S. will stay out of another European war. We can support Ukraine and pressure others to do so, but let Europeans do most of the spending and all the fighting. After all, isn’t that the reason for the United Nations? If not, then what? No one elected America to be the protector, provider, and parent of the world.

It would be especially unwise for us to fight a war with foreign commies supported by U.S.  parlor pinks, fellow travelers, and media moguls. This will be Biden’s theme song during the next two years: Trust me to stand up to tyrants and lead us safely to peace in our time.

Communism is a political and economic philosophy (some would also say a religion) that calls for a classless society in which everyone shares everything equally. However, as history has proved, equally doesn’t mean equal. Communist leaders, as cunning killers controlling the economy, lived a life of luxury compared to the hoi polloi in the streets of Moscow and St. Petersburg. Communism failed in every instance.

When the Soviet Union fell on December 25, 1991, many American pundits spoke of the “death of communism” in the old Soviet Union and their new “freedom.” But the death of Communism was greatly exaggerated.

The Soviet Union’s economic, political, and internal difficulties had festered for decades, and death was inevitable. The Soviet Union was dying on the vine, but they drove their tanks and newest weapons through Red Square in the Kremlin on May 1 of each year even though they couldn’t afford the gas to run them. Furthermore, Russia doesn’t have a Costco or Sam’s. And from the videos of the Ukraine invasion, it seems some of the soldiers may be too young to have a driver’s license.

However, full speed ahead, after all, war turns boys into men. No, war turns live boys into dead boys.

By February 1989, the Soviets had fled from Afghanistan like an aging philanderer jumping from a second-floor bedroom window ahead of an angry, armed, advancing husband. The failed Soviet occupation (1979 to 1989) to shore up the pro-Soviet regime was an incredible drain on the Soviet war budget.

The Soviets installed their puppet, Mohammad Najibullah, in Kabul and promised future aid against the radical Mujahadeen (“those who engage in jihad”) whom the U.S. continued to support in the civil war between radical Muslim warlords. Two major groups, the Taliban and Mujahideen, gained acceptance having originated when the Soviets invaded Afghanistan and forcibly occupied it for ten years.

Soviet aid stopped in January 1992, consequently, the Afghan air force could not purchase fuel for their planes. The U.S. and Pakistan supplied the Muslim warlords with economic and military weapons, one of the reasons a third-world county managed to chase the mighty Soviet Union out of the nation in disgrace.

When the Taliban took control of Kandahar, Afghanistan in 1994, people soon realized that the Taliban were not benign rulers since they brutally punished those who did not follow Sharia laws.

The Taliban had been in power and governing Kabul, Afghanistan since 1996 when the U.S. in 2001 declared war on the nation. Two months after the U.S. dropped its first bombs on Afghanistan, the Taliban was defeated and forced to flee Kabul on December 6, 2001.

The Soviets had promised “absolutely all of the military infrastructure would be handed over to the DRA armed forces” when the Soviets withdrew their troops. While the Soviet departure from Afghanistan was shameful, it was not tragic, as was the U.S. departure under Biden. That hasty and badly planned departure caused a civil war and an emerging Islamist movement. The Taliban was shockingly successful in their swift success to consolidate power so soon after the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan.

With the U.S.-led invasion of Afghanistan in 2001, Afghanistan’s Soviet-backed regime was toppled. Following that attack, Al Qaeda and the Taliban consolidated forces and seized most major cities, including the capital, Kabul.  The Taliban, Al-Qaida, Mujahadeen, and other Muslim sects are all led by Muslim fanatics but have many similarities and many Islamic differences.

Unlike the Russians, we left thousands of Americans and American friends to the mercy of the followers of Allah when we left Afghanistan in August 2021. Our departure precipitated a civil war among various Muslim groups. The Taliban retook Afghanistan’s capital almost twenty years after they were driven from Kabul by U.S. troops in 2001. When American troops moved out, Allah moved in and is still there as you read this article.

After spending $2 trillion of taxpayers’ money and nearly 2,000 dead Americans, the U.S. left Afghanistan (the graveyard of empires) where they found it—with the Taliban in control.

The Soviets kept their agreement (!) and left the promised war equipment in the hands of their Muslim friends. When the U.S. disgracefully left the same country, numerous weapons and vehicles were left for our enemy’s use.

While the Soviet departure from Afghanistan was a surprise in 1988, the fall of the Berlin Wall on November 9, 1989, shocked and thrilled freedom lovers everywhere. The ugly but effective wall separated communist East Berlin from democratic West Berlin for almost 30 years. Finally, all free people rejoiced as East Germans climbed over the rubble into free West Berlin. President Ronald Reagan’s robust demand for Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev in 1987 to “tear down this wall” was successful in less than two years.

Gorbachev was the final leader of the Soviet Union as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1985 until 1991. Surprisingly, he slowly leaned away from Marxism-Leninism toward “social democracy.” The world was further surprised, shocked, even stunned when Gorbachev dissolved the Soviet Union on December 25, 1991, saying, “We’re now living in a new world.”

Wow, what a Christmas present to the world, especially people in Russia and the now-former Soviet republics.

The Soviet Union fell but Communism is alive and well. Even leading American politicians have a longtime love affair with Socialism/Communism. Furthermore, Americans are being led to their slaughter by self-serving leaders who pretend to be interested in their welfare when their commitment is to a New World Order.

Biden’s buddy in Moscow, by his invasion of Ukraine, has given careless voters a reason to think Biden should stay in office to lead in our war effort. But it’s not our war effort. And for sure, Biden is not a qualified leader—in war or peace. He is old and ill, and a compassionate nation will return him to the backwaters of Delaware.

Whatever happens in Ukraine, all Democrats and RINOs should be retired permanently. If not, we will live in the land of Bevis and Butthead, not Washington and Jefferson.

The character Ivan Karamazov, a flaming atheist, blames God for permitting the innocent to suffer. (Don’t they all?) Then Ivan asks his brother Alyosha, a professed believer, if he would do a bad act if it resulted in the eternal happiness of mankind. His required act would be to torture an innocent child after which this eternal happiness would come into existence.

Ivan asks, “Would you consent to be the architect under those conditions? Tell me honestly!”

“No, I wouldn’t agree,” said Alyosha quietly.

Neither would I. The basic premise doing evil that good may come of it is flawed.

It is tempting to do one act of cruelty that would give sight to every blind person, permit the crippled to walk, and eliminate all deadly diseases in the world. However, my refusal would not be a lack of concern for others but because of personal honor, responsibility, and accountability. Every person on earth must give an account for his or her own actions.

I am not responsible for decisions made by world leaders; however, I must give a personal account for what I do and my motives for doing it. Even if doing wrong would result in much good, I cannot do it—no matter how strong my altruistic desires may be.

That now brings me to a very practical, personal, and problematic decision made in time of war. What are my obligations before God for actions in time of a national emergency?

I have often silently questioned the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki (neither was a vital military target) to end WWII and restore relative peace, permanency, and prosperity to the world. After much thought, I would not have dropped those bombs nor done the bombings of Hamburg and Dresden!

It has been long recognized that bombing of enemy barracks, communication centers, railroads, airports, and fuel depots was acceptable, but never targeting civilians. Churchill changed that followed by Hitler’s nightly bombing of London.

No, I am not a pacifist. I believe in personal defense and I believe a nation must defend itself. Japan attacked us; we had to respond. Roosevelt had cut off Japan’s oil supply, basically a death blow to an oil-starved nation, so the Japanese leaders retaliated; however, they did attack us. But was there justification for dropping the atomic bombs killing 185,000 innocent civilians?

The experts told us that up to a million American lives would be lost if an invasion of Japan were launched. Moreover, the argument was made that in killing so many people in nuclear blasts, it would drive Japan to the negotiating table; however, Japan had been willing to surrender but not “unconditionally” as required by the Allied Powers. That is what continued the war.

If I had been a soldier during WWII, I suppose I would have been a pilot since I later became one and a plane owner. I would have had no problem being a fighter pilot since that is a one-on-one fight between two soldiers in defense of their nation’s objectives. However, if I had flown over Hamburg with a load of bombs knowing there were thousands of innocent people below that had nothing to do with the war, I could not have pushed a button and released the bombs on innocent people. From 42,000 to 45,000 people died in the destruction of Hamburg with more people dying in that bombing alone than in the entire German bombing campaign against England!

Many would call my refusal to bomb German civilians treason to my country but I’m convinced it is faithfulness to God; however, this is one time I must not be too hard on my critics. I might be, notice I said, I might be wrong; but my Bible-based conscience says I’m right.

During the closing stages of the war in 1945, Churchill reveled in bombing the German populace and refugees as they tried to escape from Germany. He knew terror worked. Churchill revealed his desire to use terror bombing in a memorandum in November 1942 in which he declared that “all the industrial cities should be attacked in an intense fashion, every effort being made to terrorise and paralyse the population.” Yes, Churchill was a terrorist, but he was “our” terrorist and President Roosevelt agreed with his decision to terrorize and kill civilians. Stalin was delighted.

Dresden was an old city with few military targets (and not one anti-aircraft gun) and was crowded with refugees from Breslau fleeing the Russian advance into Germany. Breslau had experienced a killing field that cost the lives of 170,000 civilians. The refuges and Dresden citizens, thinking they were relatively safe were shocked on the night of February 13, 1945 to see 800 RAF bombers drop more than 1,400 tons of bombs and more than 1,100 tons of incendiaries over the city creating a massive firestorm that incinerated an estimated 25,000 to over 300,000 civilian deaths!

The Dresden bombing was the most controversial and tragic bombing of the war. Even a certified butcher would have difficulty defending it.

About six months later, President Truman decided to end the war by using the atomic bomb against Hiroshima and Nagasaki; but contrary to what most people think, it was not a universally approved decision. However, it was a popular decision in America at the time.

Under Secretary of the Navy Ralph Bird, General Curtis LeMay, Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, former President Herbert Hoover, and President Truman’s chief of staff Admiral William Leahy had voiced protests about using the bomb but their protests had no impact on Truman’s decision.

The President, no doubt thinking it was the wise decision, ordered the Japanese cities to be bombed in August of 1945. In 1946, Truman ordered a U.S. Bombing Survey to be done a few months after the two Japanese cities were bombed, and it decided, “Japan would have surrendered even if the atomic bombs had not been dropped, even if Russia had not entered the war, and even if no invasion had been planned or contemplated.”

The use of nuclear bombs killing 185,000 innocent people within a few days and injuring 135,000 more was unnecessary, and the nuclear genie was released from the bottle.

It was discovered years later that many famous, powerful American officials disagreed with the decision to use the Bomb.

Norman Cousins, a famous author, editor, and aide to General MacArthur, asked the general about dropping the bomb and “He replied that he saw no military justification for the dropping of the bomb. The war might have ended weeks earlier, he said, if the United States had agreed, as it later did anyway, to the retention of the institution of the emperor.”

General Eisenhower confessed, “The Japanese were ready to surrender and it wasn’t necessary to hit them with that awful thing” (Newsweek, 11/11/63).

Soon after the bombing of Japan, Admiral William F. Halsey, commander of the Third Fleet, was publicly quoted as stating that the atomic bomb was used because the scientists had a “toy and they wanted to try it out…The first atomic bomb was an unnecessary experiment…It was a mistake to ever drop it.”

Concerning the war in Europe, Hitler said, “Terrorism is the best political weapon for nothing drives people harder than a fear of sudden death.” The definition of terrorism is “the targeting of innocent civilians to achieve a political goal.” Churchill, Roosevelt, and Stalin used terror against a German terrorist with a bad haircut and funny mustache who had grandiose military ambitions.

The Allies, ostensibly taking the high ground in all matters, decided to become temporary terrorists!

Only God requires and deserves unqualified obedience. However, to quote Alyosha, the youngest of the Karamazov brothers, “If God is dead, everything is permitted.” But God is not dead. He’s not even sick. And it is He to whom each person is responsible.

The dropping of atomic bombs on Japan and the unnecessary bombing of civilians was wrong; but then only a fool or fanatic says military leaders always make the right decisions.

There is nothing wrong in resisting an authority to obey a higher authority though unpleasant human consequences may follow.

I’m afraid the sequel to that real-life African horror movie is being shot in South Africa as I write but with new characters.

The white farmers’ groups in South Africa were appalled at the illegal land-grab promoted by the ruling African National Congress (ANC) saying its members would consider land expropriation without compensation as “a declaration of war.”

They mean a shooting WAR as in bang, bang and they have the weapons that cause big bangs.

In 2010, the government passed gun-grabbing laws requiring that all guns be re-registered and in the process of registration, more than half the applicants were refused and their guns were confiscated. However, only a fool believes the white farmers willingly got rid of their only means of defense.

All unregistered weapons are to be surrendered to the nearest police station. But often the police stations are the most dangerous places. Robbery and rape are frequent as crime victims go to the station to make their claims. There have been many reports of crime victims reporting crimes only to have investigating police rob and rape them when they came to their homes in response to a call to the authorities or when they went to the police station to report a crime.

Transparency International found that 74 percent of people think all public officials and civil servants are corrupt or extremely corrupt, while 70 percent believe the whole political system is corrupt. So, what sane person (black or white) would trust corrupt police to do anything right when choosing to surrender to them expensive guns thereby leaving themselves vulnerable to vicious violence?

The South African Police Service (SAPS) revealed in 2013 that 1,448 serving police officers (many were top brass) are convicted criminals—among them a major-general, ten brigadiers, 21 colonels, ten majors, 43 lieutenant-colonels, 163 captains, 84 lieutenants, and 716 warrant officers. “The 1,448 police it uncovered had all been convicted of ‘serious crimes’ ranging from murder and attempted murder to rape, assault, corruption, theft, robbery, house-breaking, drug trafficking, domestic violence and aiding escapees.”

The SAPS was given one year to clean out the stable but failed to do so.

It is no surprise that Whites and Blacks refuse to report crimes to corrupt, even violent, police officers. It is also no surprise that no one believes even the very high crime statistics are close to being accurate.

Since it is not safe to report crimes requiring having police come into their homes, many crimes are never reported.

Many white farmers own vast farms with no close neighbors and have always relied on themselves and their farm hands to police their own neighborhoods. They have traditionally been well armed. After all, it is Africa! You know—lions, elephants, rhinos, Nile crocodiles, snakes, Cape buffalo, and hippos, the most dangerous of all.

Authorities who expect farmers to live without weapons have to be insane, heartless thugs, or are embracing a nefarious agenda.

Even if a gun license is permitted, it is so restrictive that it is almost useless. The two most requested permits require a “shotgun which is not fully or semi-automatic; or handgun which is not fully automatic.” Now, take such a weapon and protect yourself from a charging black rhino at 34 miles per hour, or worse, two charging black rhinos running 34 miles per hour.

Normal people might think that if a case can be made for gun control in the cities, it sure can’t be made for the farms and jungles. Maybe, it is not about gun control but as always, it is about people control. It must be kept in mind that South Africa is run by the Communist Party.

The Communist-controlled government is on record to take farms from white farmers and give them to Blacks. But white farmers will not go there without force being used. Black thugs have been intimidating and killing white farmers for years and the lethal attacks are accelerating.

Since the end of apartheid, more than 3,000 white farmers have been killed. Twenty years ago, there were 60,000 white farmers; now there are 30,000 according to the BBC. And the black Communist government demands they have no protection in their isolated areas.

The BBC reported, “In South Africa you are twice as likely to be murdered if you are a white farmer than if you are a police officer—and the police here have a particularly dangerous life. The killings of farmers are often particularly brutal.” Andre Botha of the farmers’ union Agri SA (founded in 1904) says there have been 11,785 attacks and 1,804 farmers murdered since the ANC assumed power, an average of two murders per week. Many of these have been gruesome.

And the Communist-controlled government refuses to permit white farmers to have guns!

Dr. Gregory H. Stanton of Genocide Watch said, “The rates at which the farmers are being eliminated, the torture and dehumanization involved—all point to systematic extermination.”

I reported in a recent column that Stanton in 2012 conducted a study in South Africa and came to an incredible conclusion: “There is a coordinated campaign of genocide being conducted against white farmers.” Many of the Whites surrendered their guns when the ANC government passed gun laws to confiscate the farmers’ weapons. Genocide Watch said, “Disarmament of a targeted group is one of the surest early warning signs of future genocidal killings.”

The Economic Freedom Fighters led by radical, racist, and revolutionary Julius Malema unashamedly displays the banner, “A revolutionary must become a cold killing machine motivated by pure hate” and that is being seen every day as the most recent stats reveal there are 57 murders per day!

In light of the above, let’s look at gun control in that dark and troubled land in relationship to gun control in Australia.

Australia’s compulsory gun confiscation/buyback program collected more than 650,000 (some say almost a million) guns during 1996 and 1997. They also sharply restricted legal ownership of guns, established a gun registry of gun owners, and required a permit for any new gun purchases. There is no purpose to discuss that program per se other than to say it was not the unqualified success Aussie officials claim.

I have been to Australia four times spending a month or more each visit. We spent most of our time in the provinces (states) of New South Wales, Queensland, and limited time in Victoria and a few days on the resort area of the Great Barrier Reef. We did spend some time in the outback and in the bush which is anyplace outside metropolitan areas. We had dinner with some of the ranchers who revealed a different perspective on the gun program that I’ve not heard before (and am revealing here for the first time) that relates to South Africa’s gun control attempts.

We were told that the federal government of Australia was snookered by wily Aussies who sold their junk guns and later replaced them with better guns. We were also informed that some of their expensive antique guns sold in the buy-back program were collector’s items that were not destroyed but ended up in the basement or den of local police authorities.

So, Australians have not disarmed themselves and neither have the white farmers of South Africa. Even more so, the South Africans have not because of the vast difference in the ever-present danger. South Africans have good reason to believe their own weapons may be used against them or against other innocent people. Or at least the guns may become prized possessions of black politicians.

And the very likely possibility they will be tortured and killed by black thugs motivated by government leaders is a probability, not possibility.

How will citizens react when a flunky of the ANC goes door to door saying, “Well, hello there. I’m from the federal government and I’m here to take your guns today”? That will happen in some cases but not often outside the cities on land owned, cut out of the jungle, and defended for over 300 years by white farmers.

That will be especially true when they realize they will be devoured as surely as fresh meat in a shark tank.

South Africa is rushing pell-mell toward coercion, conflict, and chaos; hundreds of thousands of all tribes and races will die while the silence on this issue in America is deafening.

And the United Nations will be as effective in keeping order and saving lives as they were in Rwanda.

Al Capone was Chicago’s crime czar during Prohibition days. He was notorious for enmeshing the windy city in everything from bootleg booze and prostitution to murder. His crime organization was called the “Chicago Outfit.” He often said, “I am just a businessman, giving the people what they want.” His business card identified him as a “used furniture dealer.”

Capone had a lawyer with the moniker of Easy Eddie. He represented Capone for a good reason–he managed to keep Al out of prison although everyone knew Al was knee deep in murder, extortion, prostitution, and anything to make him easy money! In fact, Eddie’s skill at legal maneuvering kept Big Al out of jail for a long time. To keep Eddie on the payroll and to keep him quiet, Capone paid him very generously.

Eddie and his family occupied a huge mansion with servants and all of the conveniences of the day. The estate was so large that it filled an entire Chicago city block. Yes, Eddie lived the high life of the Chicago mob and gave little consideration to the atrocities that went on around him. After all, his hands were “clean.” He was only an attorney.

Eddie, as Al, didn’t seem to care about anything honest or decent but Eddie did care for his son. Eddie saw to it that his young son had anything he wanted. That usually destroys children. And, despite Eddie’s involvement with organized crime, he tried to teach his son to rise above his own sordid life. One day Eddie noticed him sprawled on a couch reading books and eating banana layer cake and doughnuts. The father decided that his boy was showing signs of laziness and enrolled him in a military academy in Alton, Illinois. That was one of the wisest decisions Eddie ever made.

Then one day, Eddie reached a crossroad in his life. Providing his son a good name was far more important than all the riches he could lavish on him. He decided he would “spill his guts” and reveal Capone’s financial crimes to the authorities. Some critics tell us that Eddie’s decision was not so altruistic, and no one can be sure of his motives but we know his actions.

Eddie asked a reporter for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch to contact the IRS which was investigating Capone for tax evasion. The reporter arranged a meeting with the IRS and Eddie was the key to Capone’s conviction. The IRS agent said of Eddie: “On the inside of the gang I had one of the best undercover men I have ever known.”

To salvage his son and refurbish a tarnished reputation, Eddie had to testify against the Capone, and he knew that the cost would be great. He wanted to do his best to make restoration and, hopefully, to leave his son a good name. So, he testified in Al Capone’s tax evasion trial in 1931 and 1932. Capone was sentenced to eleven years in prison but released after six-and-a-half years since he was dying of syphilis. A week before Capone’s release from prison, Eddie was blown into eternity by multiple shotgun blasts by Capone’s gang while driving home from his office in his Lincoln-Zephyr. He was 46-years-old.

But, in Eddie’s eyes, he had given his son the greatest gift he had to offer at the greatest price he would ever pay.

A few years later America was at war with the Axis powers that resulted in millions of deaths and disabilities. Many ordinary young men became unusual heroes such as Lieutenant Commander Edward “Butch” O’Hare. He was a fighter pilot on the aircraft carrier Lexington in the Pacific theater.

Early February 20, 1942, every member of the flight squadron was sent on a mission and after Butch was airborne, he looked at his fuel gauge and saw that it was not full. He assumed that he had trouble with his gas gauge or someone had failed to fill his fuel tank. He quickly realized that he would not have sufficient fuel to complete his mission and return to the fleet. His flight leader ordered him to return to the carrier.

As he was returning to his carrier, he saw a squadron of Japanese Zeros speeding in the direction of the still unseen American fleet. The Zero, with a top speed of 350 miles per hour at nearly 20,000 feet, was the most deadly and efficient plane in the world with an incredible 12 to 1 kill ratio! Additionally, it was armed with two 7.7-millimeter machine guns and two 20-millimeter cannons in its wings. No American plane could compete in a “dogfight” with a Zero but the Japanese discovered that a competent, courageous, and committed man could overcome a plane’s inadequacies.

Since the American planes were en route to their destination, Butch knew their mission left the fleet highly vulnerable to Japanese attack. There was no way he could reach his fellow pilots to bring help to the fleet and he could not warn the fleet of approaching danger. He knew he had to get the attention of the enemy pilots to keep them from discovering the almost helpless fleet. Selflessly and alone, he attacked the Japanese planes as his wing-mounted guns spat deadly lead into the enemy planes. No doubt, the enemy pilots thought they had a crazy American in the sky with them.

Butch wove in and out of the now broken formation and fired at as many planes as possible until all his ammunition was depleted. Undaunted, he continued the assault against faster, more maneuverable planes. He dived at the enemy, trying to clip off a wing or tail in hopes of damaging as many enemy planes as possible and rendering them unfit to fly. He was desperate to do anything he could to keep them from reaching the American ships.

After minutes that seemed like hours, the shocked Japanese squadron flew in the opposite direction of the still undiscovered fleet. Butch O’Hare flew his damaged fighter back to the fleet and managed to land on the bouncing carrier. His report sounded like a grade B movie but the film from his gun-camera confirmed his report. It showed his dangerous weaving, diving, ramming, etc., to delay, destroy, deflect, or deter the enemy planes away from the fleet.

Incredibly, he had demolished five enemy planes and for that action Butch became the Navy’s first Ace of WW II, and the first Naval Aviator to win the Congressional Medal of Honor.

On Nov. 16, 1943 Butch led the Navy’s first night-time attack from an aircraft carrier against Japanese torpedo bombers and was killed in aerial combat at the age of 29. His home town of Chicago named their airport O’Hare International Airport in tribute to the courage of this great man.

It would be worthwhile to visit a memorial to his heroic service the next time you are at O’Hare International. He is one reason you don’t speak Japanese! Your visit at Butch’s memorial or at least a moment of reflection is especially appropriate during this anniversary of the Japanese surrender in August of 1945.

So, what do these two stories have to do with each other? Well, Butch O’Hare was Easy Eddie’s son. The father’s sacrifice paid off.

Trump should show restraint in dealing with Syria. We have about 200 special forces there but more will follow if the War Party has its way. The plan is to keep small but effective U.S. garrisons indefinitely in eastern and northeastern Syria and western Iraq. Four military installations “already are being used by the anti-ISIS coalition, either openly or semi-covertly.” Mission creep is in our future.

Syria is a Muslim nation with 75% belonging to the Sunni sect. Dictator Bashar Assad is a member of the Alawite Muslim sect (a Shiite offshoot) and is supported by most religious groups because he offers some stability. Most of his generals are also Alawites. Assad is an efficient killer, especially when cornered, but he has governed the nation and provided stability and protection to Christian churches.

Moreover, he is supported by Russia, Iran, and the terrorist group, Hezbollah. His opponents are a ragtag collection of Islamic fanatics including the Jabbat al-Nusra terrorists, who will cut the throats of their cobelligerents as soon as the present regime falls.

Assad’s opponents consist of hundreds of local activist groups that have sprung up since early 2011 with growing coordination on the national level. Some factions want a violent Taliban-type state after Assad is toppled, while others are willing to accept religious diversity. Still others advocate for a secular government. They have little in common except their hatred of Assad’s regime. Often, fighters are willing to overlook some doctrinal differences if a leader has better weapons to offer. Obviously, it is a mangled mess of murderers who hate other murderers.

Christians make up about 10% of the population and generally side with the Assad government since it has been supportive of them and protected their minority status. There are Christians who have gone to the rebel side but, generally, it is thought that the Christians are in bed with Assad since the Muslim alternative is unthinkable. It is similar to the old ploy of going along feeding the crocodile, hoping he will eat you last–but eat you he will. When push comes to shove, Assad will shove–anyone in his way. Christians are trying to stay out of his way.

The rebels against Assad who often fight among themselves, receive support, funds, and weapons, including anti-tank weapons, from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Qatar. They are now controlled by the most extreme Muslim fanatics. The U.S. has refused to support any of these “opposition” groups because they may fund a worse thug than now occupies the catbird seat in Damascus! However, the U.S. has dropped weapons and ammunition to the Kurdish YPG militia in its campaign against ISIS.

The opposition to Assad is a mixture of Sunni fanatics, thieves, criminal opportunists, and a few freedom lovers who coalesced into the Free Syrian Army and the Al Nusra Front with links to Al Qaeda. Add Kurdish militias (who hate the two above groups) to the volatile mix and you have ingredients for disaster.

But in spite of all the above, here we go again! John McCain, Lindsey Graham, and some GOP (Grand Old Progressives) and many Democrats have been beating the war drums to a deafening pitch. Progressives seem to think America is destined to fight every war in support of the good guys; however, in Syria there are no good guys: it is a monstrous dictator against Muslim fanatics. It is tragic that more about 500,000 lives have been lost; 1,000,000 wounded; and the internal or external displacement of 11,000,000 but that battle is not our battle. To those who say it is our fight, I ask if we are to get involved in every battle on earth. We would be wise to heed Winston Churchill who said, “To jaw-jaw is always better than to war-war.” I say, “yes, yes.”

The U.S. invaded Iraq because we were convinced (many say wrongly) that they were involved in the attack on the World Trade Center. A nation must respond when it is attacked. However, Syria has not attacked us and they are not a threat to us. Let the bloody bullies bang their heads together and resolve their own differences. If Israel wants to get involved, that is their business. Let the Middle East nations that are threatened take whatever side they choose. It will not be a principled decision since there is no noble principle involved, only violent religious and political hatred. All factions are thugs, thieves, tyrants, and terrorists.

America has become not only the world’s bank but also the world’s policeman that is obligated to clean up the Syrian mess! My opinion: the cost of one American life is too high a price to pay for getting involved and it is not wise for us to pour billions of dollars into that cesspool of a nation while we struggle to pay our national bills. We have seen our young men and women (!) return from Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan missing their limbs and burned beyond recognition. Moms have been killed leaving small children without a mother. But then, that reflects upon us because any nation that must use women to fight its wars is probably not worth defending.

Bush made a super dumb statement when he spoke of taking democracy to nations in the Middle East. They don’t want democracy and even if they did, the burden to take it there is not a U.S. burden. After all, who appointed us the Paladin of Peace? We don’t have the money nor should we sacrifice our youth in a war that cannot be won. Our desire to share the principles of freedom should not entice us into a war that will be a Hundred Year’s War; however, it is easier to fight for your principles than it is to live according to your principles. Let’s live them and let other people learn them from our example. Furthermore, the winner of the Syrian conflict would not be welcomed at any decent person’s dining table. America should let other nations fight this war then everyone will be losers–except us.

World leaders still haven’t received the message: there is no way to beat Islamists. We can blast a nation into the Stone Age but that won’t win the war. Fact: there will be perpetual conflict as long as there are Koranic Muslims down at the local mosque. We will be at war and living with terror to the end of time! The next war could very well bury Western Civilization forever as well as the barbarians on the Arabian Desert.

Furthermore, there is the issue of national sovereignty. Who gave America (or Russia, China, Israel, etc.) the authority to interfere in and invade another nation? Do we believe in national sovereignty or not? Do we believe in sovereignty for us but not for “them”? No one has even tried to justify this.

Only a fool will say that we have any chance of establishing even a semblance of freedom in Syria. Freedom doesn’t work in Islamic nations since freedom is the antithesis to sharia and jihad.

Non-thinkers, bubbling over with naiveté, praised the uprisings in Libya, Egypt, etc., and now they realize that we got much more than we wanted. Radical Muslims have been enabled and are now in control with sharia and jihad as the norm. Moreover, our incursions into Iraq and Afghanistan are two more abject failures of a stupid, senseless, strident, and suicidal foreign policy.

Trump and other politicians should use their bloody pulpits and the media to promote freedom everywhere but keep our men, money, missiles, and munitions (with a few exceptions), at home.

Oh, also keep our maidens and moms at home.

In Europe, the Hundred Years’ War (1337–1453) and bubonic plague reduced the population more than 50 percent! France lost half its population during the Hundred Years’ War and Paris lost two-thirds of its population. The population of England was reduced by up to 33 percent due to plague during the same period. The war seemed to be incessant as France and England (each aided by various nations) fought for control of France. It became the most notable conflict of the Middle Ages.

The French used the crossbow that required little training but was slow to reload and prone to damage. The long bow required strength and skill and the English had been training their troops to fight using a new approach: during a battle, the English would dismount, find protection, and kill the advancing heavily armored French before they could get close enough to do harm to the English. The English longbows could penetrate French armor and kill their horses before the French could get close enough to harm the English troops. Later, firearms and cannons were introduced that changed the way all future wars were fought.

Europe was forced to make major changes in warfare and in everyday life because of the long war. Feudalism, which was the exchange of land for military and other services, was coming to an end. Peasants acquired more power since their labor was worth more because of the decline in the labor pool. Serfs moved to the growing towns and acquired skills in production of goods. The Pope lost his grip on the English as King Henry booted him off the island in the 1500s. Yes, life was changing for everyone and life is changing for you as Islam continues its invasion.

Europe was changed quickly in response to the war and the plague. Europeans knew that they had to look at life as it was, not as they wished it to be. They rejected what was not working; adjusted their thinking; started reading the new English Bibles of Wycliffe, Hus, and Tyndale (that transformed their lives); rearranged their economy; then moved into the Reformation and Renaissance. Nothing would ever be the same.

America and the free world are in a Hundred Years’ War but many officials refuse to admit it! Some leaders can’t even pronounce the name of our enemy that all sane people know! Some even allege that some major world leaders are even in collusion with the enemy for ideological reasons! Other leaders are simply spineless, in need of a spinal transplant! Whatever, the fact is we are at war with koranic Islamists because they declared war against the world in the seventh century. However, those of us who firmly believe that fact are said to be guilty of Islamophobia.

The U.N. has defined Islamophobia as a “deep misunderstanding of Islam [that] is fueling anger, hatred, and fear about one of the world’s great religions.” I think I can help the U.N. and it won’t require a U.N. conference or large consulting fees paid to me. Islamophobia is a non-word that was contrived to suggest that anyone concerned with the Muslim threat is somehow unreasonable, unfair, and maybe unstable. The U.S. media assumes that all sensitive, sane, and sensible people would recoil from Islamophobia similar to a mythical vampire recoiling from sunlight. However, that is political correctness run amok.

We are urged not to judge all Muslims by the acts of a few extremists who target civilians. The U.N. rejects “widely held views that Islam is incompatible with democracy or irrevocably hostile to modernity and women’s rights.”

Of course, everyone knows that Islam has always been incompatible with democracy. Muslims will cooperate and use any and all democracy to further their cause of a world caliphate; but their minds are closed tighter than a miser’s wallet where freedom is concerned.

As to women’s rights, is there any doubt where koranic Muslims stand? You will note that American Muslims are not demanding a change in the treatment of women in Muslim nations. Female circumcision (read: sexual mutilation often performed on little girls with a dull blade and no anesthesia!) is common even in Germany, Austria, England, and Netherlands. Women can’t vote where Muslims rule. Then you have disparity in inheritance laws, discrimination in courts, and degrading wife beating, etc. Islam is not female friendly.

The mistreatment of women comes directly from Mohammed’s life and teachings: there are more women in hell than men; prayers are interrupted by a black dog, an ass, or a woman; if a wife is difficult, withhold sex from her and then beat her if needed; Mohammed took his female slave to bed; he took his son’s wife as his own; he had a nine-year-old wife; etc.

Sounds as if Mohammed was in fact “irrevocably hostile to modernity and women’s rights.” And if U.S. and U.N. officials were informed or honest they would know that Muslims worldwide are obligated to emulate the lifestyle of Mohammad as well as obey the Koran.

Egyptian judge Kamal Aboulmagd is quoted as saying: “In Islam and in Islamic literature there is no such thing as ‘a holy war.’” The confused judge added, “This is [a] Western invention that was attributed to us, I don’t know how and why and when.” Well, let’s check out whether that is an accurate statement. Anyone who reads the papers or watches television knows that Muslim clerics in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, etc., are convinced that “holy war” is a reality. Jihad was not “attributed” to Muslims by wicked, hateful Americans. It is a core teaching of the Koran and Hadith and no matter if Muslim leaders say otherwise, that wouldn’t make it so. U.S. media people who declare that jihad is benign are little more than pathetic prostitutes.

You might ask the people in Paris and Brussels and Orlando if they think holy war is a reality.

My Koran was published in Medina so it is as authoritative as you can get and it clearly teaches “holy war” or Jihad in sura 2:190 and many other places. To be sure that the dullest of Muslims understand the meaning of that verse, Muslim theologians added a footnote on page 39 that hammers home the truth: “Al-Jihad (holy fighting) in Allah’s Cause (with full force of numbers and weaponry) is given the utmost importance in Islam and is one of its pillars (on which it stands). By Jihad Islam is established….Jihad is an obligatory duty in Islam on every Muslim….” End of Jihad discussion!

John Esposito, a major cheerleader for Islam, said. “The message at the end of the day is clear, the message is simple–Islam is not the enemy, religious extremism is.” John is wrong. At the beginning of the day, at the end of the day, Islam is the enemy! No, all Muslims do not follow the Koran so they are decent, law abiding Americans; but koranic Islam is the enemy.

The U.S. is not at war with terror, but with a religion/culture that has promoted terror from its beginning. We are involved with a clash of civilizations that may not end for a hundred years! In other words, we are involved with a Hundred Years’ War that will probably result in the destruction of some nations.

The AP reported Osama bin Laden as saying, “In essence, this war is a religious war.” Osama was right and right is right no matter who says it and wrong is wrong if the U.N. and every media person in the world say it. Our “War on Terror” is a Religious War that may last a hundred years. Our future is not between war and no war but intermittent war and continual war. Plan on it!

Many will be disturbed by that statement but it is better to be disturbed by facts than deceived by falsehoods. The free world will live with terror from now on, even more than a hundred years!

First of all ISIL does not become a state by his permission. To be a state the leaders must own and control the territory in question. ISIL is as much a state as the Palestinian Authority. In fact, more so since ISIL has far more territory, far more warriors, and far more money and equipment. ISIL is a state and it is a constantly growing state.

However, Obama’s biggest mistake was stating that ISIL “is not Islamic.” But of course it is. If it is anything, it is Islamic. Its leaders, as slaves to the Koran, pray Islamic prayers, follow the teaching of Mohammed, attend Friday mosque and profess to be Muslims. All one must do is profess that Allah is God and Mohammed is his prophet. But then I can understand why Obama would not want to recognize that earth-shaking fact!

Obama, on a slippery slope, then says that no religion condones the killing of innocents. Has he been in a cave all his life or just spent too much time on the golf course in the hot sun? All educated people know that there have been numerous massacres perpetrated by various religions and many still defend their actions!

The Massacre of the Latins was a massive massacre of the Roman Catholic inhabitants of Constantinople, the capital of the Byzantine Empire, by the Eastern Orthodox population of the city in May 1182. Up to 60,000 Roman Catholics were killed by other “Christians” so that was “Christian” against “Christian.” However, I think both groups were theological thugs with little relationship to Bible Christianity. Christ wept at Lazarus’ funeral (before He raised him from the dead) but I think He might have wept again over the tragedy in Constantinople.

The St. Bartholomew’s Day massacre in 1572 was one of the most infamous killings by Roman Catholic mobs. They killed up to 30,000 French Protestants during the French Wars of Religion.

But it gets worse. In the 1500s, India’s Thuggee sect (followers of the bloodthirsty goddess Kali) strangled about two million people as sacrifices to appease the bloodthirsty goddess Kali. Thugs killed about 20,000 people a year in the 1800s until British rulers exterminated them. At a trial in 1840, one Thug was accused of killing 931 people.

The Aztecs came to power in the 1300s and made human sacrifice an evil art. About 20,000 people were killed yearly to placate their gods, primarily the sun god who could only be mollified by human blood. Priests, who were highly efficient killers, cut out the hearts of sacrifice victims and some bodies were eaten. Other victims were beheaded, thrown from the tops of their temples, or burned. At one king’s coronation, 80,000 prisoners were butchered to satisfy the gods. Another author reports that in a rite to the maize goddess, a virgin danced for 24 hours, then was killed and skinned and her skin was worn by a priest in further dancing.

What did Obama say about “No religion condones the killing of innocents.”

But maybe it would be advisable for me to concentrate on Muslim massacres of innocent people!

The massacre of the Bulgarians in the southern town of Batak by 8,000 Ottoman Muslim troops on April 30, 1876 at the beginning of the April Uprising was described as “the most heinous crime to stain the history of the 19th century.” About 15,000 men, women, and children were raped, tortured, and then beheaded by the followers of the “peaceful religion” of Islam. The entire town was burned to the ground.

Two other massacres known as the “Armenian Massacres of 1894–1896″ and the “Great Massacres,’ were committed by Muslims of the Ottoman Empire. There were up to 300,000 killed leaving at least 50,000 children orphaned.

The 1909 massacre of Armenian Christians by Ottoman Muslims in the city of Adana resulted in a series of anti-Armenian mob violence throughout the district. The estimated death count was up to 30,000 Christians. Are you still with me Obama?

In April 24, 1915 the Muslim officials ordered the deportation of practically the entire Armenian and Assyrian Christian populations of modern Turkey to Syria and Iraq, and to massacre many of them during the removal. By the end of the year, 1,500,000 Armenians and 250,000 Assyrians had been murdered. Many women were raped and children were kidnapped and enslaved to be brought up as Muslims. Many Christians, especially women, were crucified (photographs are available). This mass murder by Muslims prompted the first use of the word, “genocide.”

Okay, Obama, are you convinced now? Can we hear you say that you and your speech writers made a glaring error or was it a glaring deception trying to put Islam in a better light? Radical Muslims of today are only doing what their leader taught them to do and what they have been doing since the seventh century. They are international bullies that specialize in beheadings.

The Meccans began a two-week siege of Medina in 627, known as the Battle of the Trench; some Jews helped in defense of the city, but most were neutral. Mohammed questioned their loyalty, and after the battle Mohammed had all Jews in the crosshairs. He said that the judgment of God was “the Jews shall be killed.” During the night, ditches sufficient to contain the dead bodies were dug across the market place of the city. In the morning, Mohammed ordered the male captives to be brought forth in companies of five or six at a time. Each company was forced to sit in a row on the edge of the trench (mass grave) and were there beheaded. The bodies were cast in the trench. Some of the women were given to his troops and others sold into slavery. The butchery lasted all day and into the night with the beheading of at least 800 men.

After the killing spree was over, Mohammed relieved his stress by sleeping with Rihana whose husband and all her male relatives had just been beheaded! War is so stressful! And civilization marches on.

Our national leaders like Bush, Obama, Biden, Reed, Ad nauseam will not admit that we are involved in a clash of cultures and a religious war that could last a hundred years! It is not a war of our making and will not be won by bombs, bullets, or battalions.

When America’s next major terrorist attack happens you may notice that Obama, Biden, and Company’s unwisely and hastily adopted sympathy and pandering to all things Muslim will be discarded as quickly as long underwear in a Texas heat wave.
