…that preachers are to fill the pulpit not the pews and to make the gospel available not acceptable?
…that many Christians have convictions that stretch to fit any circumstances like the elastic in an old lady’s drawers?
…that earthquakes are a sign of the end times?
…that there was one earthquake from 1890 to 1899 that registered over 6.0 on the Richter Scale but 747 from 1990 to 1996?
…that a welfare recipient wrote the Philadelphia Welfare Department saying, “Mrs. Jones has not had any clothes for a year and has been visited regularly by the clergy”?
…that another woman wrote saying, “I’m glad to report that my husband who is missing is dead”?
…that a 63-year old man beat his wife to death with two banjos?
…that maybe we should campaign for laws to ban all banjos or at least register them so authorities can know where they are?
…that at least we should have a waiting period on purchasing banjos so potential killers will have a time to cool off?
…that many men are weary of life without being prepared for death?
…that Louis XVI refused to permit a priest to teach his son lest the boy lose religious faith?
…that Augustine taught that original sin was sexual not disobedience?
…that Augustine wrote, “Through a woman we were sent to destruction; through a woman [Mary] salvation was restored to us”?
..that Theodosius II made it a penal offense to give public instruction without a state license?
…that Julian, to propagate paganism, introduced state examinations and appointments for all university teachers?
…that the Bedouins loved their horses but the camel was their best friend because it could go 25 days in winter without water?
…that the camel also provided milk; its urine provided hair tonic; its dung was burned for fuel; and when it died it made a tender meal as well as its hide and hair producing clothing and tents?
…that Mohammed at age 50 married a 6-year-old girl?
…that Mohammed was a thief and killer?
…that eggs are not bad for you?
…that Jesus Christ is still the hope of the world?

EVOLUTION

Fact, Fraud or Faith?

by Don Boys, Ph.D.

EVOLUTION

Only an uninformed fanatic says that evolution or creation can be proved scientifically. Christians believe in creationism because we believe in the veracity of the Bible but we also have scientific evidence to support our position. In every debate I’ve had with evolutionary scientists, the arrogant, asinine accusation is made, “Well, evolution is scientific while creationism is religion.” Evolution is about as scientific as a voodoo rooster plucking ceremony in Haiti. Almost.
